Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿ’ƒ Beyond a well-crafted thriller; the inexplicable emotional, warm intimacy ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿฅ€ (Do Read)

There are certain films which I watch not merely for the story but for the silent emotional warmth it provides. Merry Christmas, starring the gorgeous Katrina Kaif, is one such film which provides me with a silent emotional intimacy.

I mean, leave aside the story which was top-notch, the small things- the soft glow of a table lamp against dark wooden paneling, the beautifully decorated quiet, lived-in apartment, the inexplicable warmth of its interiors, the nostalgic hum of a vintage radio, the amber lighting, velvet curtains, cluttered bookshelves, and the soft crackle of old records. The house literally acts as a cozy, isolated world. Also, the exquisite outfits Katrina wore in the films, and the Christmas evening, are enough to keep you hooked and trust me when I say that the rewatch value is also good.

How can we talk about Merry Christmas and leave behind cinematography, I mean the play of light and shadows, the soft focus, shadow-play, deep reds, midnight blues, and golden hour hues that make ordinary rooms feel dreamy, mysterious, and deeply cinematic.

It feels less like watching a film and more like quietly stepping inside a beautifully preserved memory.

Story wise, it was brilliant for a non-typical thriller and the climax twist leaves you puzzled.

Merry Christmas will always be special!

Renowned entertainment journalist Faridoon Shahryar asks Sunita Ahuja to stop constant attacks against Govinda

Faridoon Shahryar, taking it to X (formerly Twitter), released a video blasting Sunita Ahuja (Govinda's wife) for her constant attack and below the belt remarks on 90s Superstar, Govinda.

Video Link:- https://x.com/i/status/2089665617960038778

His tweet:-

Sunita ji, just shut up. Enough is enough. Please leave Govinda ji alone.

You get a chance in front of the press and you say whatever you want about Govinda ji. You do a podcast and once again, you have to say unpleasant things about him. At this point, it genuinely feels as if you are enjoying this media game.

What you perhaps don't realise is that Govinda ji seems extremely vulnerable, and somewhere, all limits are being crossed.

The loss of his mother impacted him psychologically in an extremely intense manner. For almost two decades, he has struggled professionally, and somehow it feels that he has never completely overcome that personal loss. What he needs today is love, understanding and support โ€” not his personal life becoming a recurring spectacle in public.

And let's not forget who Govinda is.

This is an extraordinary actor and performer who gave Indian cinema some unforgettable moments. Several actors senior to him are doing some of the finest work of their careers today. There is absolutely no reason why Govinda cannot find that one great role and create magic all over again. The talent is still there.

Sunita ji, please stop washing dirty linen in public. Some relationships and some wounds deserve privacy.

Please back off before it is too late.

Govinda ji deserves love. Govinda ji deserves dignity. And most importantly, Govinda ji deserves another chance.

To all the Genuine Astrologers - You are the God's Gift to Humanity, however you need to be crystal clear (Read Body)

**Before I write the post, I want to make it clear, I don't intend to hurt the Astrologer community and people who believe in this ancient practise (I am one amongst you), however, you need to be crystal clear in your techniques.

So, now here it goes:-

I have been watching all sorts of videos of different renowned astrologers, reading articles, doing some analysis on my own but unfortunately, I couldn't get a crystal clear idea of list of things that can help predict the Year/Time of Marriage. All of them suggest different ways, different techniques (which is understandable), however, there is no clear process of doing it.

Some suggest there are a couple of things to look at-

  1. 7House

  2. 7th Lord Placement

  3. 2nd, 7th, and 11th Houses and Placements of their Lords

  4. Vimshotari Dasha

  5. Navmansha

  6. Your Current Transit Charts

  7. Venus and Jupiter

Etc,

However, no one has given a crystal clear POINT BY POINT/STEP BY STEP Process (IN ORDER) description on how to do it.

If anyone can help with this, it would be of great help for budding astrologers. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Declassified - Operation Sindoor:- Just completed both the parts, my God, pure, raw and goosebumps

Just completed watching both the parts of the recently launched Declassified: Operation Sindoor by Discovery and my God, I am blown away.

It is an excellent, well-crafted, detailed account of how the NSA, CCS & DGMO narrowed 34 targets down to 9, the tri-services drills & extreme secrecy maintained beforehand, the precision strikes at 1:05 am on 7 May 2025, Pakistanโ€™s failed retaliations, IAF counter-strikes, and the eventual ceasefire after Pakistani DGMO Maj Gen Kashif Abdullah requested it.

Also, gives an idea to the common people that how well-trained, calibrated and professional Indian Armed Forces are.

Well-made, serious 90-minute (two-part) documentary, zero cringe. This puts a full-stop to all the fake narrative that Pakistan was peddling, the message was clear- India can hit Pakistan anywhere, at will.

Only disappointment: available on Discovery OTT instead of free telecast on DD channels & DD YouTube.

The message is clear:- Zameen mein ho, aasmaan mein ho, pataal mein ho... we will not forgive. We will go after them."

- Prime Minister to NSA Ajit Doval.

I am glad that the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces gave this a green signal for this should be shown in every school.

Raincoat (2004)- An underrated gem from Hindi Cinema, directed by maverick Rituparno Ghosh, staring Aishwarya Rai

Raincoat (2004) is one of the most underrated Bollywood movies ever made. Set in Calcutta, there is something incredibly beautiful about how Ghosh finds poetry in the simplest things, the rain, the old house, the muted colours, the silences and the conversations between two people carrying years of memories and unspoken emotions. The entire film has an intimate, almost melancholic beauty that makes it feel less like a story and more like a fleeting memory.

Rituparno Ghosh was truly a gem of a person and a maverick filmmaker, and Raincoat is such a beautiful example of his ability to make the ordinary deeply profound.

And Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgn are simply brilliant.

Also attached is the beautiful note Rituparno Ghosh, the gem that he was, wrote to Aishwarya. โค๏ธ

Right Time, Is There One? Marriage as a Journey, Not a Milestone (Do Read & Share Your Perspective)

A bit of a different view, particularly in the scheme of things in today's era:- Yes, I understand it's better to take your time and get married late (until things are sorted in terms of finances, career stability and till the time you genuinely and strongly feel it's the moment or you feel he/she is the one).

However, having said that, I feel (and this is the reason why I feel it's a completely different view) the right time never really comes.

There were reasons why our scriptures, forefathers and the traditions have always advocated to marry young (of course, the definition of the right time, defining young, varies from time to time).

There are a slew of reasons why it makes absolute sense, irrespective of time,- one- you both slowly but gradually develop a sense of feeling towards each other and it's more genuine.

Secondly, you guys taste the success and failures together as teammates, like purchasing your first house, buying a car together and etc, that happiness is unmatched.

Even if one looks at it with a prism of science, it makes absolute sense, less complications of child birth and you get the gap between you and the child is comparatively less, making the bond, really strong. Lastly, you guys are not in a hurry to do things and take things as they come.

Prime examples - Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri and in no way, I am espousing the view that they don't have any challenges or their fair share of struggles.

However, I understand, few things are really beyond control in both the cases, if things are not meant to be right in a larger scheme of things, it will not and it applies to both the cases. In no way, I am saying that either one is bad, however, marrying young has certainly more pros.

What's your take, folks?

Salman, Sanju Baba and Shakti Kapoor Singing & Dancing to Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani (Peak Deshbhakti Banger) ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ”ฅ

This old video of Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Shakti Kapoor dancing and singing Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walo (Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani) during a promotional event in late 90s makes me think that the country had different energies back then. Every kid has the dream to make the country proud. IT engines were booming, people were switching jobs at their will. Even basic diploma guys were going to the USA and doing great. Dubai return NRIs used to bring gifts. Kids in schools, literacy shooting up, health facilities improved, export boomed. For the first time it felt like we could compete with China.

In current given times, this type of event looks near to impossible. Happy Independence Day ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Kangana Ranaut, though sometimes she gets overboard, makes a lot of sense most of the times, your take?

I have always had a huge liking for Kangana, I mean the way she carries herself, talks and puts her views unabashedly. I understand that a lot of times she gets overboard, which I feel, anyone would, if they are not a hard-core politician, but she always had this in her, taking on the Bollywood and what not. I understand she has her flaws and history but then it was B-town back then. As you folks are from Himachal, what's your take on her?
