Not talking about old vs new. I've been in modern buildings where one elevator glides perfectly and the one next to it lurches at every floor. Is this a maintenance thing, a load balancing issue, or just variance in how they were installed? Curious if anyone in the industry can explain what's actually happening mechanically.
