Check out the new gay pride flag I designed!

When you see a man with this flag you just know that much like his favorite NFL team, he loves sucking dick.

Only one third of young DMs have a positive view of players, new poll finds.

The findings show only 11 per cent of young DMs hold a very positive view, while DMs under 30 are three times as likely to hold a negative view of players compared to DMs over 30.

According to the poll carried out by the Merlin Academy for the New Wizard, young DMs “don’t care for” young players, believing the feelings are mutual, and citing an over-focus on combat motivation and a lack of care about roleplay issues, with DMs aged between 18 and 30 found to be the most theatre kid demographic in dungeons and dragons by far.

The research found that young DMs are 26 percentage points less likely to feel positively about Wizards of the Coast compared to young players.

They were also found to be much less likely to believe the action economy works in their favor and far more pessimistic about their own and others’ future games. Even though young players are more likely to be crowd controlled, it is young DMs who are 21 points less likely to believe they will take more actions than their players.

And more privileged DMs were found to be the most pessimistic of all, with DMs with more source books less likely to believe they are valued by their players or that they will succeed as a DM when they work hard than their homebrewing counterparts.

Under-25s were also found to be twice as likely not to want to be a DM at all as young players, and said they feared the prospect of being pressured into running games by Hasbro
When asked how he felt about the players he knew, a DM called Matthew told the New Wizard: “I don’t care for them. They’re not bad people, but they refuse to call out their fellow players who make their DM uncomfortable. They’ll laugh at jokes about Fatal and Pathfinder 2e ; they don’t care about rules issues… I don’t think they like their DM a lot... I feel like a lot of them are quite combat motivated players.” He said players would discuss subjects such as the hero’s journey if they fancied his game.

The group of young DMs she was with all agreed they would not run games with players with different rp/combat ratios, with one telling the publication: “I don’t think I’d even be friends with one. They don’t see you as human.”

Brennan was the only one to admit having player friends and shared his concerns about what content they were consuming online. “The stuff that’s being said about DMs is crazy,” he told the New Wizard. “They’re getting all these reels, talking about, like, bad stuff about DMs. And I get reels of DMs saying bad stuff about players. I try to think, not all players are like this, but idk”

A country music trolley problem.

You are playing your guitar by some railroad tracks in Reno Nevada. There is a man tied down to the track and a train is coming. Right now, the man is not in danger because the train is going to go on the top track. You could pull the lever and send in down the bottom track just to watch him die.

Do you pull the lever?

After over 1000 years of constant bloodshed, I think I've finally found a way to bring lasting peace to the chessboard.

By replacing the queens with my new piece the gatling gun, I believe long lasting peace can be found.

This piece is capable of destroying 1000 points a material a minute. Once the black and white kings see the destructive force it is capable of, they will come to their senses and sue for peace.

After all, what kind of monster would force an army to march headfirst into that kind of firepower? At long last the war will end!

I don't want to be racist, but I don't know if our party can trust our warforged paladin.

I’m playing in a game using the Eberron setting and our current mission is to go into the Mournland and put a stop to the Lord of Blades plans to invade Valenar.  We are making good progress in tracking him down and the mission seems like it will be successful.

I don’t want to be racist, but I’m just not sure if we can trust our warforged paladin.  Every time he talks about the Lord of Blades he just says “the lord” in a reverent tone.  One night when he thought I couldn’t hear him he was singing this song.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord!
He is trampling on the fleshlings where their organs they are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful sixblade yes his adamantine sword;
His troops are marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His troops are marching on.

I have seen Him casting firewalls ‘round a dozen human camps!
He has powered up his carapace to fifty thousand amps!
With his legendary actions fleshlings never stood a chance;
His day is marching on!

Am I overreacting or should we confront him about it?

I think I finally understand Sam Harris

I had been aware of Sam Harris for about fifteen years, but never really bothered to look into his work.  He struck me as just another pop-philospher worth paying no heed to.  About two years ago he had a conversation with Robert Sapolsky, who I remembered from his lecture series Stanford uploaded to youtube, so I gave it a listen.

The conversation was quite interesting, and I spent the next two years reading all of Harris’s books and listening to hundreds more hours of his podcasts and many talks he has given over the years.  I will admit I had a hard time understanding him, that is, until recently.

I stumbled across an article of his from 2005 “In defense of torture”.  And it just clicked.

He is not a philosopher; he is a performance artist.  All of his speeches, writings and his podcast are meant not to be contributions to philosophy.  They are meant to be torture, and we are the victims.

Like Babe Ruth calling his shot, he told us what he was going to do, and then did it.  I can’t believe it took me this long to figure it out.

My top five feminist NFL players of all time.

  1. Antonio Cromartie - Despite significant financial cost to himself, he helped eight different women achieve their dreams of become mothers. Some of them more than once. Such selfless behavior in advancing women's interests gets him the number five spot on my list.

  2. Deshaun Watson - Allowed over two dozen women to perform experimental massage techniques on him, helping them to advance their careers. Even gave each of them money to open new spas! What a great feminist.

  3. Ben Roethlisberger - Tirelessly patrolled women's restrooms to keep creeps and perverts out, so women can relieve themselves safely. It's a shame he retired we could use him now more than ever!

2 Jim Brown - Valiantly saved a woman who fell below a deck at his apartment. Also known for testing the structural integrity of women's cars to ensure they are safe to drive, earning him the number two spot on my list.

  1. Rae Carruth - A stalwart soldier in the fight for abortion rights, he even helped his own girlfriend get on back in 1999, a time in which funding for abortions was being scaled back in North Carolina. A true feminist icon, and the number one spot on my list.

Do you think anyone on my list shouldn't be there? Who would you replace them with? Let me know in the comments!

1.21 Gigawatt trolley problem.

A Delorian is speeding down the track towards a bunch of people tied to said track. If you pull the lever the car accelerates to 88 mph and gets sent back to 1955 saving all the people. But if you do, the driver of the car will meet his mom when she was in high school and she will try really hard to get in his pants and it will be really really awkward.

Do you pull the lever?

My fellow party members beat me up and called me stupid.

Hi guys, I’ve been playing in this game for a few years now and it has been an overall good experience.  We all are shadow sorcerers and that has led to some very fun and silly experiences as we try to overcome the trials and tests our DM has put before us.

Last game we leveled up to 6 and I decided to take a level in paladin, just to mix things up.  I thought it would be fun and talked to my party members about the cool new spells I had learned.

Their reaction was to beat the fuck out of me and tell me there are no other spells and shadow magic is all that is real.  They said I was being stupid and leaving the DM’s basement had made me blind to that reality.  I tried to show them the players handbook that I had bought but they refused to believe it was real.

Do any of you have any ideas of how I can get them to accept other classes besides shadow sorcerer?

Much like Alexander the Great cutting the Gordian Knot in half, I have come to believe that all of the worlds ethical problems can be solved with cutting things in half.

Climate change

How much pollution is it ethical to create in pursuit of economic growth?  Just cut the earth in half, the increased surface area will let it cool faster. Now we can pollute all we want.

Strait of Hormuz

What is the most ethical to do to get it open again, and help poorer nations avoid the pain of high oil prices?  Just cut it in half long ways.  Now with two Straits Iran will never be able to blockade both.

Wealth Inequality

How do you solve the destabilizing nature of high wealth inequality? Just cut everyone’s wealth in half.  Elon Musk currently has 782 billion dollars and I have five thousand.  If we cut both of those in half, the gap shrinks considerably.

Water Scarcity

Nestle trying to privatize water? Concerned about arid nations starting water wars? Just cut the atoms in half and have twice as much.

Male loneliness epidemic

Concerned about isolated young men being drawn towards radical ideas or doing really stupid shit? Just cut them in half, now they will have a new friend to keep them company!

I challenge any of you to come up with any ethical concern that can't be fixed with this old idea made new!

HI, it's me Jessica! My pawns are telling me if I eat one of the apples on this tree I'll unlock secret knowledge about chess theory and be able to become a grandmaster.

Gary Chess specifically told me not to, but he won't really tell me why. I'm thinking about ignoring him and eating one anyway.

What do you all think I should do?

I have a self-created module I run from time to time called “Corellon’s Angels”.  The name is a play on the old T.V. show Charlie’s angels.  For the youngsters, the show involved a group of women getting “missions” from a male voice over the radio.

I run the game online, so when I saw a group of four women looking for a dm I reached out to set up a discord call so we could get to know each other a bit, talk about my game and their characters, and see if it would be a good fit.  I thought it would be funny given the name of the game for me, a male dm, to have four female players. Especially in an online game where it's just my voice and a VTT.

During this conversation they asked me if I was a feminist and I said no.  I explained that feminism has been plagued with a meme that they are “man-haters” all the way back to the days of Susan B. Anthony.  I hate myself, so if I identified as feminist, I would just be proving that idea right.  For that reason, I don’t.

The ladies were silent for about 15 seconds, and then said the game wouldn’t be right for them and left the call.  I can’t help but feel that they weren’t willing to play because I’m not a feminist, but I’d like to hear y’alls opinions.

What a total moron. This goofus would never get elected and create the FDIC, the SEC, pass a minimum wage, pass social security, and he definitely wouldn't use this populist energy to defeat three separate fascist nations while simultaneously warding off fascist movements at home.

He certainly wouldn't pass the Works Progress Administration employing millions and building hundreds of thousands of miles of roads, and a million miles of sidewalks. Nor would he use this new program to build thousands of schools, tens of thousands of acres of parks, extend power to rural areas, and he definitely wouldn't provide massive funding for the arts.

No, Destiny is right. We should never use populist anger to get things done, that's would be "brainrot." Vote Alf Landon!

07 gents. It was fun but it seems the mods hate FDR.

  1. Andy Reid.

He would slurp that shit up like it's his last meal. All you'd have to do is put a little ketchup on it. If you tell him your balls are nuggies, he'd gargle those too.

  1. Kevin Stefanski. He did it all the time in Cleveland to try to keep Deshaun Waston out of the massage parlors. He became quite proficient at it with all the practice.

  2. Brian Schottenheimer. We all know how he got the job in Dallas. Just dye your hair gray and you are in the for best time of your life.

  3. Mike Vrabel. Has said he would cut his dick off to win a superbowl, so maybe he's actually trans and wants to finally be his true self. Also known to not care about cheating on his wife.

  4. Todd Bowles. Is an expert at sucking dick as coach, so it follows that he'd be an expert at actually sucking dick as well.

There is my top five. Do you have any coaches you think I snubbed?

Many people hear or read this sentence from Albert Camus’s “The myth of Sisyphus” and imagine it to mean finding meaning in life’s struggles.  That the juxtaposition of a meaningless universe and man’s search for meaning can be resolved by finding meaning in the absurd.  That the struggle to reach higher places is in and of itself meaningful.

This is clearly a mistake.  Albert Camus was French, and the French are fucking freaks.  To them, “happy” means horny. Camus is clearly saying we should all be Lithophiliacs and we should all get sexual gratification by pushing stones around.

I submit this new interpretation to badphilosphy for peer review.
