Hey i mostly lurk here as im very very very basic with Salsa. Just a couple group classes down so far, the speed of salsa is still intimidating but im getting over that.

I have been doing Pro/Am American Rhythm for 2 years now and just wondering how much crossover cha cha and mambo have with Salsa once it gets away from basics, cross body leads and natural underarm turns. Cha cha is my favorite dance.

I am a Pro/Am competitive American Rhythm ballroom dancer (i am the amateur and lead). How much did you notice it has helped? I have knee and back issues along with a weak core. Which is affecting my ability to hold up frame and have clear leads. I cant sling weights around the gym because of this issues, also i think its boring. So i thought this might be a good way to help strengthen my back and core outside of ballroom. I also have to stay away from the jumping in class.

How much did ballet help your ballroom or and i risking making the sciatica and arthritis/spurring in my knees worse?

I just went to my eye exam today and i asked for readers and they said they could do it. Maybe it had to do that i have astigmatisms but it doesn’t hurt to ask. I have progressive lenses so that might have to do with it, but i have to crank my head back to read and normal readers aren’t as good.
