My body and mind are so disconnected it’s insane. There’s no need to go into full detail but I am curious how religion has caused you guys to disconnect/disassociate

People who have suffered from religious OCD how have you healed your nervous system? I’ve pretty much deconstructed but my brain does not act like it at all

Does is really make a difference to have a ‘trauma informed therapist’? There are a couple habits I have that make it really hard to function. Idk how to explain it but I like compulsively dissociate in my mind and then it will cause me to obsessively blush. The blushing really started from obsessive thoughts around purity from religion, but somewhere along the line I just never got to let myself feel certain things and layered beliefs over them and now I feel very weird

Do you guys think this is more of a trauma response rather than just OCD? It is for me.

How many of you suffer or have suffered from this? And why do you think this theme comes up?

Sometimes I lose touch with reality and it gets pretty bad. I am curious how you guys have healed from religious trauma and what it took. I also had religious OCD as an FYI

Anyone else feel very stuck in their healing process? Some of these issues are like glue and I have a really hard time shaking them.

Has anyone had breathing OCD? Specifically where it affects your brain and starts to give you a headache if you are breathing wrong. It’s like emotional pain wrapped up in breathing

Anyone else gag or throwing up during the day? I feel pretty miserable

Is there any good therapy for this? I’ll just wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I am an alien and I am going to go insane. My mind feels flat idk how else to explain it. Usually I’ll be able to get out of it by compulsively pushing the feeling out but it will come back.

Has anyone dealt with this before? I’ve had it for years and it’s so annoying. It’s not just blushing it’s like the same feelings and fears keep replaying in my head whenever I’m around certain triggers. Don’t recommend ERP
