Swiggy auto-converted failed payment order to COD and denied cancellation within 1 minute

I had a really frustrating experience with Swiggy recently and wanted to know if others have faced something similar.

I was placing an order from Salad Box worth ₹597 using my Slice card because I had a cashback offer. The payment kept failing multiple times due to what seemed like a server/bank issue. I kept hitting retry.

Then suddenly Swiggy showed a popup with wording like “we won’t let you feel hungry” and when I clicked “Yes,” the order got placed as Cash on Delivery (COD). It did not feel like a clear “confirm COD order” prompt at all.

The moment I realized the order was placed as COD, I immediately tried to cancel it — literally within 30 seconds to 1 minute. But:

  • There was no visible cancel button
  • I had to go through the Help section
  • By then support said cancellation wasn’t possible because the restaurant had already started preparing the food

What annoys me is:

  1. Payment failures were not my fault
  2. The popup wording felt misleading
  3. There was no proper cancellation window
  4. Support only gave template replies both on email and Twitter/X

Their Twitter response was basically “your inconvenience is noted” without addressing my concerns

This honestly feels like very poor UX/customer handling.

Has anyone else experienced this with Swiggy?
Do I have any valid grounds for escalation through consumer grievance channels?

Need advice regarding Axis Bank “pre-approved” credit card application handling.

I received a call from Axis Bank stating that I had a pre-approved offer for the Axis Neo Credit Card. Based on that assurance, I agreed to proceed with the application. A hard CIBIL enquiry was then done on 24 April 2026.

I even opened an Axis Liberty savings account recently mainly because I was planning to build a relationship with Axis Bank and get their credit cards.

However, after the CIBIL enquiry, there was absolutely no update from their side:

no approval,

no rejection,

no proper status communication.

After waiting for around 2 weeks, I contacted customer care through chat support. They asked me to wait until yesterday for an update. Even after waiting, still no response.

Later, I started receiving calls for another card offer — Airtel Axis Credit Card. When I asked about the Neo application, the representative told me that the Neo card was “not proceeding” because another offer was showing in the system.

This entire thing has become frustrating because:

a hard enquiry was already added to my CIBIL,

I already had multiple recent enquiries,

and due to high enquiry count I recently got rejected for Scapia and an IndusInd card.

Now I’m stuck in a situation where:

Axis did a hard pull,

gave no final decision,

and is instead trying to push another card that I don’t even want anymore (especially after the recent Airtel Axis devaluation).

Has anyone else faced this kind of issue with Axis “pre-approved” offers? Is this normal behaviour from their backend/sales team?
