Why Kaiju Girl Caramelise is my favorite Anime (MILD SPOILERS FOR SHOW/BOOKS)

So earlier this year, a new anime released, called Kaiju Girl Caramelise. I knew absolutely nothing about it for a while, Before it even premired though, I found the manga at my library, and decided to pick it up. A bit later, I watched the show. Before I go into why I like it, I should probaly explain it, to anyone that doesn't watch the show. So, since I have the manga next to me, I'll just quote the blurb on the back of the first book.

"Suffering from a rare, incurable illness that cuases frightnening changes to her body, loner Kuroe Akaishi spends her high school days avoiding her classmates - especially class idol Arata Minami and his groupies. but when Arata starts making her heart skip a beat with irritating regularity, Kuroe discovers that her illness actually has a big-make that MONSTER-sectrt: Romance turns her tino Love-zilla...literally!"

Now, this at first seems to be a dumb rom-com show/bok series, but I have many reasons on why I love this series, despit not really liking Romance stories that much, with as little spoilers as possilbe, unless they are censored.

  1. The story is very interesting. Most movies or shows I watch are kind of generic, and can be described as this: big dumb action, with boring human subplots. However, most of my favorite things are stories that I am interested in, and well-written. And with the premise, this is one of my favorite stories with an insane idea, which is even more crazy considering that Spica Aoki, the author, mentioned that she just blurted out the idea while in a meeting with her editor. The story with Akaishi and Minami's romance is really heartfelt, and is one of my favorite character stories PERIOD.
  2. The comedic moments, and my goodness, there's a LOT of them. From sudden animation shifts to reactions that are very realistic, it feels like this story was made for people that love Rom-coms, or other comedic movies. I laugh so much every episode, and I love how some frames are ripped straight from the panels of the books. This is kind of a 2A, but the Voice Acting in Japansese makes it so much better, since everyone's doing their best.
  3. The plot twists are very shocking. Now, I won't go into any here except the one that isn't really a twist: Kuroe becomes a giant kaiju named Harugon whenever she feels intense emotions, such as love, anger, etc. As I said, I won't go into the others, but I was shocked at some in the later episodes.
  4. The gut-wrentching moments. For a comedy, there are some serious moments that even made me feel bad, for a few reasons. This is probably the longest point, but its because of some small personal stuff. In episode 3, "A sparkling weekend ~ where dreams come true," Akaishi-san and Minami-kun go on a date at an amusament park called Destinyland (no similarity to the persona 5 location). However, she knows this will probably not end well, so she tries everything to not end up getting too close to Minami-kun, so she doesn't destroy the park as Harugon. However, after Minami gets too close on one ride, they have a talk, and attempt to call-off the date. But Akaishi-san tries to explain, not realizing that some of her kaiju form emerger, like horns and tail. She realizes, and runs off, having a heartbreaking monologue. "It's all over. I knew he wouldn't accept me. I've got to hide it completely. He'll never talk to me again, right? I'll never see that smile again. Why did I have to be born like this? What did I do wrong? Just one day... I just wanted this one day... to be a normal girl. Well, screw it. I don't give a damn about anything." Then, one of the mascot characters tries to tell her to calm down, since she's scaring guests. She then replies with something that twists my heart to it's core, after the mascot, Michey, says that its the place where dreams come true. "Where dreams come true, huh? Hey Michey... Are ugly monsteres not allowed to have dreams?" This hits me hard, since it shows Kuroe Akaishi's insecurities fronthand. Now, I'm around the same age as Kuroe at this time, and I have insecurities too, and it hurts me to see others have them too, with them being showed out like this. Luckily, the episode does have a happy ending, and the plot continues.

Overall, this anime is a deep romance-comedy with some kaiju action, amazing characters, a beutiful story, and an AMAZING soundtrack. (still blasting Harugon's theme for days) The animation is top-notch, and you can tell the people working on this project were really exited to work on it. As a start to a review series I am going to do for any Anime I watch, will be scored on a 0 to 50 scale for 5 seperate catergories: animation, voice acting, story, action, and music. This anime is a solid 45, with 9 animation, 10 voice acting, 10 story 7 action, and 9 music.

They hid it in another area.

So, I noticed that each new Godzilla japansese live action film had an operation of some kind. there was Yashiori in Shin, and Wadatsumi in Minus one. I couldn't find out what those mean exactly, but in Minus Zero, the operation is called Narukami, which is a god of lightning, thunder, and storms in myths of Japan. Ghidorah is seen throughout the franchise shooting lightning, and generating storms like the KOTM catergory 6 huricane.

The operation's against Ghidorah guys.

Six Flags announce [magic mountain] thrill glider to open 9/10/26

This is earlier than expected, and it must be a small ride for how fast they are to build it.

I just had the biggest dose of nostalgia ever.

So, today (August 29th, 2026) was the final day I had with my sister before she went off to college. We did all she wanted to do that day, and it was fun. A lot of games, watching movies, and a lot more. We decided to end the night with some kareoke. It was fun as well. I sang a few songs, and so did everyone else (my step-mom, dad, and 2 step-sisters) there. My dad decided to close out the night, and told a small story. Apparently, he bought the amp we used when he was a freshman, and he connected it to large speakers and played the Deep Blue Sea movie, setting a record for most sound complaints in the college, and changed the rules involving how to watch stuff. Then, he turned on the song. I didn't know what it was, and then, he sang the first word.

When I was younger between 4 and 6, I had bad nightmares all the time. No matter what, the same nightmare, sometimes not even nightmares, actual reality-like, occured. The only thing that seemed to lower the chances of them, was my dad singing Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." It helped me a lot through then. Over time, now that I'm 16, thouse memories faded away, and I completely forgot about that place except for those nightmares due to how dumb they were to me.

Then, tonight, my dad sang the first line of What a Wondeful World, and all the memories came flooding back. I remember a book I used to have there, a shelf with dinosaur toys, and so much. And even sadder, this might be the last time he'll do this, since my sister was the one that always wanted to do kareoke. I started crying, with my sister. We both hugged him, and did our best to sing along, though it was nigh impossible for me with how much I was crying. It was more than when I first saw Endgame (totally gonna see in theaters for re-release btw), or any other moment in my life I've cried. I was feeling so much, and it's impossible to put into words.

So yeah. I just wanted to mention this, and wanted to talk to other people about their own times like this, either crying with family, or nostalgia. I am glad that my family is like this, and hope we can all meet back together later in life.

What movie has the best final shot in your opinion?

Basically, what it says on the cover. What is your favorite final shot in te franchise movies?

Personally, Jurassic World is the movie I have watched the most as a kid, and that whole finale with Nine to Survival Job, and Roberta/Rexy slowly going up and roaring over her new territory gives me chills each time.

What do you guys think?

I don't remember having this many

So, context: when I was younger, I was an idiot. I played with legos a lot, but stopped after a while. Today, I decided to rebuild the sets, and when I emptied out the container (grey lid), this was the aftermath. Still gonna build them though. Any idea what some of the sets names are? (Not the ones in the background, the ones right next to or in the pile that you can see)

Oh lord Vox, I have taken you to unknown regions.

As part of the Vox Cult, It was my duty to take my glorious purchase to the showing of his speciality, the media known as Spider Man: Brand New Day. (movie was peak, review will be up on some subreddits) Our wonderful Overlord would be incredibly pleased at this update.

Hail Vox, Populi, the People's Voice.

First time on nightmare, and this is freaking me out

This happened earlier. I am definitely crouching the whole game with a few exceptions now.

(work in progress) Project Stargate

This is my newest built coaster. I had a lot of changes made, and added some scenery, but I will have more changes coming up, like trains, and colors. I will also be attempting custom supports.

This is an Intamin Giga, and probably one of my favorite designs I had made.

It is pretty realistic, for a park with a lot of money. The bad recording is due to multiple factors, mainly me playing on my PS5, and having to record it from my phone.

Thinking of buying, but where can I get it cheapest?

So, I am a diehard fan of the Alien series. I have read some of the comics, planning to get figures soon, and I wanted to get the Alien RPG ever since I hear of it. Problem? I have no idea how to, or where to purchase it. Closest thing I found is rulebooks for sets on Amazon. I have heard it is similar to DnD, but I don't fully understand it. Is it mainly online, and I need a book with a code to play? is there a board with the first one? I need some help. I would also prefer cheap options, since I like to budget myself, and why I haven't gotten so much alien merchendise yet.

Even if people don't respond, thank you for whatever information you guys can help me with.

Well.... I think we all did as wel.

This is from the Sevastapol Drone page on Villains Wiki. Apparently, the drone that attacks us in mission 6 is a different xenomorph. Was I seriously the only one that knew there were multiple, but thought they were the same? If this is the first time you guys heard this, then I could send them a note, but multiple people look at the wiki per day, so I think it was intentional.

Has anyone ever counted how many are maximumly seen?

So, as we all know, Working Joes are ALL OVER Sevastapol. However, we are never told or seen an exact number. How many are there? I am honsetly curious, and want to know what others think.

My peronal guess is over 100.

I need help (Mission 17 begining

I marked this as spoiler due to a xenomorph after one being ejected.

So, I am playing Alien Isolation, and I am stuck at the start of mission. The guy with the shotgun is an issue, and whenever I distract him, the Xeno comes early, and kills him before attacking me. I need help. I can kill the guy, since I am not doing no kills.

EDIT: Should also say, I only have 28 Flamethrower Fuel, and on hard.

I needed to defend him.

For context, I found this post on Favorite characters, and despite some people going after Charlie, which is so dumb for that girl, since she played in our overlord's hands, but I had to send my personal opinion of this scene. I went very into detail on my opinions.

Sorry about bringing up the blasted radio demon in it.

You heard me, show me your ideas.

I might have one after a bit in comments.

Edit: AU stands for Alternate Universe, so pretty much fanfictions you have, or stuff like that from other subreddits. Might repost this on multi-fandom.

Some notices in the -0.0 teaser

I put as spoiler in case some people want to go into the movie blind.

Near the start of the teaser, we see what appears to be Godzilla's tail, in the ruins of a city. First, to state the obvious, this guy GREW. Along with the fact the atomic breath is a darker blue now. I do have to admit, I didn't see the edge rest of the body, nad thought the tail was under the ground, saying that Godzilla was burrowing, or this was another creature (get away from me Gravity Anguirus people), but after looking closer, you can see the rest of the body.

The dorsal spike is VERY small in the second shot. I wondered if maybe translating it could do something, maybe spoil if it was Noriko or something (it's small enough to fit in someone's hand), but the translation just reads (third image) "fragment taken from the site Loc. 1947516 Remaining. Godzilla Tissue." This means this movie takes place maybe around May 16 1947, or around that time frame.

Now this third shot is interesting. Its too out of focus to translate, but it seems to be taking measurments, like a giger counter. I think this could be just that, or signs of another kaiju. Not much else to say.

Now this near to last shot, THEY ARE DROPPING A NUKE!!!! I think Noda was the one that greenlit this idea, and why Shikishima attacks him, but I also think this could end up very bad. They might be trying to kill Godzilla, but instead, they make things a lot worse. LOT WORSE. Maybe this could be the birth of another kaiju.

I am grasping art straws here, but I am really exited for this movie to come out now, with this new information.
