Rolex shenanigans

I was today at Munich airport, I had a connection flight and I had couple of hours to spent there. I was heading for the business lounge and right outside the lounge entrance there was a Rolex boutique. I went to look at the display and to my surprise it was full of watches mostly stainless steel (Submariner black/starbucks) GMT Batgirl/Rootbeer, skydwellers, and many many more.

I asked surprised the sales rep that I haven’t seen a display full of these watches for years, and that I would be interested in trying a couple of models and if possible to buy 1.

I know that there are waiting lists etc, but he said that there are waitlists for these watches and they can’t sell them to me. Like who the fuck puts waitlists on airport boutiques?

This was the most stupid thing that I experienced in a Rolex boutique so far.

Hey, I’m the person behind PeekABook.

And honestly, this didn’t start as a product idea.

It started with something that made me uncomfortable…

I always thought the hard part of parenting would be sleep.

Or the crying.

Or the exhaustion.

But it turned out to be this small moment:

My baby looking at me… while I’m on my phone.

Not even doing anything urgent.

Just replying to messages, checking things, scrolling.

And I caught myself thinking:

“This is what he sees all day.”

That hit me.

I’m not against phones. My work actually depends on it.

But I started wondering how to stay present without completely disconnecting from reality.

Curious if anyone else has felt this?

Hi everyone 👋

I wanted to start this space by sharing a small story behind PeekABook.

Like many parents, I found myself working from my phone a lot… even when my baby was right there watching me. And honestly, it didn’t feel right. Not because using a phone is bad, but because I realized how much babies observe and copy what we do.

That’s where the idea for PeekABook came from.

It’s a simple concept: something that lets parents handle quick tasks on their phone, without putting a screen directly in front of their child. Not to replace real interaction, not to “trick” anyone, but just to create a small buffer during those moments when life happens.

This community is not just about the product.

It’s about:

• navigating screen time as parents

• sharing real-life situations (no judgment)

• small habits that make a difference over time

I’d really like this to be a place where people can openly share their experiences — whether you agree with the idea or not.

So I’ll start with a question:

👉 What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to using your phone around your child?

Curious to hear your thoughts.
