Got text from xx roofing company. Sent response stating I wanted a drone inspection and written estimate before anyone climbed on the roof. They also text my spouse. I did a bit of digging it was all a scam. Not from the legitimate company. Be aware.
Did not know the HOA had a dial “x” option for emergency and stated my concerns last night 10:15 pm. During an 80 mph windstorm. I was legit scared since the common area park tree was up against my house, retaining wall, and lemon tree. The associate spoke to me with dignity and respect. Noted my concern. Today at 8 am I called HOA again (seeing the landscaper’s in the neighborhood) asked for ETA. Didn’t get one but they showed up 10 minutes later. Guys have been busting their asses for 2 hours. I gave them sodas and water. I still hate my HOA because my neighbors have the same issue but can’t get an ETA; they did not know who to call- My wall is cracked due to the weight of the tree but that is tomorrow’s quest. I explained a great horned owl uses this as his home to the supervisor and they left as much of the tree as they could. Guess it’s a better outcome than landscaping bros hiding behind my wall drinking beer (I shot them with the garden hose and was called ‘inhuman’.) In what friggin reality is my HOA paying your company a million $ a year to sit and drink beer? And they never trimmed the trees correctly; pulled out all their supporting stakes in 6 months so so they got no root system. Left them top heavy; and here we are. I hope this company sees it because the guys who came today are awesome. Yeah ima name and shame. But SHINE for the guys who came today. Climbing up a tree needs a raise-
Guy outside the C@rcle K. Sitting on the pavement. Disheveled and dirty. Instead of ignoring a human in 100 degree heat I bought him a sealed Gatorade and said “here’s a cold drink for while you wait”. He did thank me. The ambulance was at my work when i clocked out, for someone with a heat problem, at a multimillion dollar company where we get free bottles of cold water and electrolytes packets /popsicles daily. Imagine having no shade no home. Try and support with a bottle of water if if you can afford to. I know debate abounds; I’m not starting that. Decent humans treat humans decently.
This owl has been roosting here frequently over the past 3 weeks…I just got a close up today. There is something wrong with its eye. I have been observing and not confronting this owl hence the good picture. I’m blessed to have it feel comfortable and yes I talked to it to get this close up. But one eye seems dilated always. I have more pics, it’s not a blink

I block and report. Tomorrow will be 2-5 more. My cloud is tied to my phone and no chance of deleting. It’s on auto pay and backed up to external device anyway. Just why? And why can’t my cell provider see they are sending out texts containing “cloud”, and just not allow this?

I am already an OSHA40 hazwopper certified trainer at my last job (tenure 8 years; laid off due to- things. ) I now have a job going through changes, they now say the fire exit doors can only be unlocked from within or outside with a keypad. I get it, they need security for the items we process. But if you are not TSA cleared you can’t work here. Everyone had to re provide their ID documents, last 5yrs of address. I am uncomfortable with having a door clearly marked with a sticker “FIRE EXIT” and it’s locked. They started this today and I’m not sure if it’s a manager/hr/firemarshall thing. I like and need this job. I GET an alarm on the door, but locking it? My kids can make millions,no? Half dead cat added for upload. I can’t have my phone at work to take pics of violation Oh so on an OSHA sub I’m not allowed to ask for advice? Great. I’m not asking for advice I’ll just go to the fire marshal

So we have a brush fire 20 miles away (we are in no danger) but the girls especially Luna are very agitated about it. We do not see the planes or helicopters from here. They are “on patrol “ not eating normally and acting like they do when my husband is out of town- incessantly barking, pacing-
Anything I can do to alleviate their fears? The fire has been ongoing since I got off work Saturday and the air quality is awful. Their anxiety is upsetting to me. I’ve tried distracting and treats. They are doing their job but this worries me I won’t be home tomorrow. You can not smell it (I can not smell it ) in the house. Is fire also a breed thing? They go nuts over coyotes howling I understand that one totally. Any help/advice appreciated. Thank you.
So please folks don’t fly drones and go to “fire-watch”. If they post it on the website there must be issues. The wind has picked up and now it’s bigger than yesterday. The air is so bad here right now. I hope the responders can do what they need to do without issues; and they are all safe.
So we brought a stray in and had him vetted. Confined him to a spare room for 1 month so vaccines could work. Vet says he’s 13 yrs old + and heart murmur. (Hyperthyroidism meds used) I’m good with all that. But now with 3 litter boxes (one in the main living room) he is shitting and peeing in the sink. I’m beyond wondering what a cat thinks there are “””3”” clean litter boxes he shots and pees in the sink. If he wakes up from a nap I grab him and he pees in the box. I’ve got this cat he has hyperthyroidism and I am medical him. I’m tired of him shitting in the sink . My husband says that’s why they turned him out. He has problems with 1 of our 2 cats (Agnes= no problems) her son ghost (fixed; big problem). I’m beyond help here what behavior modification can I do? He clings to me daily knowing he’s not in trouble with ghost while I’m with him. Don’t get me wrong I love this cat I took him I’m responsible but I need advice please.
