Ladies who got over Fast fashion and consumerism, Give tips.

It’s not like I didn’t know how fast fashion is destroying the planet. But I happened to watch Dhruv’s video on it recently and it made me feel really guilty about all the mindless shopping I’ve done over the years.
This has been bugging me for a while and I’ve finally decided that I don’t want to keep shopping just to keep up with trends. I want to buy less, but buy good quality clothes that actually last.

I was cleaning my wardrobe last week and found atleast 10-12 pieces of clothes that honestly felt like plastic. I felt really bad looking at all the unnecessary stuff I had bought.

I’ve already been trying to stop this for the last 5-6 months and I want to be more mindful about it going forward.

So, to all the ladies who have stopped or reduced rampant consumerism for this reason, where do you shop from? What materials do you look for? How do you make sure you still feel beautiful and well dressed without constantly buying clothes that are bad for the planet?
Would love to know your recommendations and tips ❤️

Any suggestion for Rice protein powder?

I have IBS and cant eat most foods. I am lactose and gluten intolerant. Eggs are the main and only source of protien. I cant take whey and pea protein. Can you all suggest a good rice protien powder or any other source?

Do you all have stress? What caused your IBS?

I have always been on Survival mode and i can feel that my brain thinks i am always in danger.
So that might be why I have IBS.

But can a personal without any stress whatsoever(or anxiety in this context as I know life comes with a certain amount of stress) have IBS?

I really want to know if this is the case.
I am trying my best to calm myself down. But its not easy to be calm with IBS.

I feel like years of stress have finally caught up with me.

I’m 32F and I honestly don’t know what’s happening to me anymore.
I had a dysfunctional childhood, struggled with anxiety and depression, and was on medication for 3-4 years. Even now, I feel like I’m always in survival mode being constantly alert, overthinking, and scanning for problems .
I got married 2 years ago, and my husband is genuinely a good person. But within the first six months of marriage, I had three pregnancy losses. Around the same time, my back problems (disc issues) flared up again after I’d worked so hard to get them under control, and now I also have IBS. My diet is down to mostly rice, eggs, and a few vegetables because I’m doing gluten-free, lactose-free, and low FODMAP.

The biggest issue is that I’m just… exhausted. I’ve always been a morning person, but after marriage my sleep schedule shifted because my husband gets home around 11 pm. I now sleep around midnight every day, and I wake up tired too. My job has also been extremely stressful, so I’ve decided to quit and take a few months to focus on my health before looking for another job.

The part I’m struggling with the most is that after the pregnancy losses, I don’t really want children anymore. I don’t know if it’s fear, grief, burnout, or if something changed in me. My husband still wants kids, and that makes me feel guilty and confused.

Has anyone else felt like years of trauma, stress, health issues, and losses eventually caught up with them? Did you recover? And is it normal to completely lose the desire to have children after going through repeated pregnancy loss, even if you wanted them before?

I dont even know what i am asking for? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

So many thoughts in mind, brain aches

I am always thinking.
Its not negative thinking. Its positive or me solving problems and sometimes i worry and then i solve it too. I can not stop thinking. When i bathe, when i poop, when i walk, when i sit. When i talk, i keep getting thoughts and my brain aches.

I observe them and i let them go but it keeps happening again.

What do i do???

I meditate and do breathing exercise.started recently.

How do I flush trauma induced fear out of body?

Because of years of childhood trauma and multiple SA incidents, i had so many mental health issues. Tooks meds for few years. I started meditating and journalling and could recover from depression, bipolar and Anxiety disorder..
But i feel my body is still in fight or flight mode. I have fear with in me. Its trapped inside my body. I mever feel relaxed. So basically even though i have mental awareness, maturity and understanding, my body is still scared and would not believe i am safe.

What can help to calm down nervous system and flush the fear out of body?

To Note- the fear is Trauma induced. So i am looking for a suggestion to heal a body which was scared for 15-20 years living in constant danger.

Please help me.

Recommend a therapist and a Gastro

Hey,

  1. I need a therapist. Preferably a female therapist. And a very good one. I ve taken therapy earlier and i am a pretty aware person. Hence i need a very very good therapist.( not my arrogance but from experiences). Do we have some Spiritual therapist also?
  2. I am suffering from IBS. Please suggest a good doctor( allopathy or Naturopathy or anything that has worked for you)

Done with this life. Why do we even live

I don’t know if I am burned out, depressed again, or just completely exhausted.

I had a very difficult childhood with a lot of trauma. I struggled with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, and was on medication for around 3-4 years. Before marriage, I worked very hard on myself through meditation, exercise, journaling, and therapy-like self-work. Eventually I got off medication and genuinely felt much better.

My father passed away, and I have a very difficult relationship with my mother, so I don’t really have parental support. My husband is a wonderful person. We had an intercaste marriage, and his family has been good to me. We live separately in the same building, so there are no major family issues.

But after marriage, life has been hard in other ways. Different language, different culture, different food, not having the comfort of my own home(hostel). Then I went through three miscarriages/pregnancy losses. I developed chronic back pain(which i somehow solved with exercises and gym- took me more than an year to be able to handle it) and later IBS. For years now, it feels like I have been constantly fighting one health issue after another. IBS is sucking life out of me.

I work full-time. My office hours often stretch until 10:30(starts at 2pm and reach back home by 11pm)I sleep around midnight. I have to keep going to the gym because if I stop, my back pain gets worse.

From the outside, my life looks good. I have a good husband, a stable job, and a decent life. But internally I feel completely drained. I wake up tired. I go to work tired. I somehow get through the day and repeat it again.

The other thing is children. Right now, I honestly don’t feel like I want a child. Not because I hate children, but because I don’t know if I have the physical or emotional energy for pregnancy, hormones, or taking care of another human being. My husband and mother-in-law are good people. Nobody is forcing me or pressuring me. But like most Indian families, I know the expectation is there somewhere.

My husband has actually suggested that I resign and take a few months off to recover, focus on my health, gym, yoga, swimming, and just rest. Financially we can manage it.

The problem is that I don’t know if what I am feeling is burnout, depression, grief, chronic illness fatigue, or just years of carrying too much.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did taking a career break actually help? How did you know whether you needed rest or something more?

Please validate my feeling!

I sometimes have loose motions and sometimes constipation except that most of the times, its neither loose motion or constipation but the feeling of loose motions and constipation. For eg- even if i pass lil motion.. not complete.. i ll feel so constipated, too bloated, so tight in lower abdomen intenstines and ass and i just feel like a bomb.

And sometimes motion ll be lil loose but i ll feel like a person with diarrhoea.

Sometimes its actually loose motions and constipations.

I cant find pattern in food also.

Endo and colonoscopies are clean.
