If all your different Tavs fought each other, who‘d win?

Basically the title, from what I can tell- basically everyone on this sub has done at LEAST 2 playthroughs. Maybe still not finished a playthrough, but yall got a few different PCs at this point.

I just had the idea cuz I’m starting my 3rd playthrough right now, finally starting a Dark Urge run.

My first playthrough was kinda just “act however ya feel in the moment,” and my character came out to be a bit of a lying cheat (I was a charlatan so it works out). His name was Bartholomew.

Next playthrough I wanted to put more thought into actually playing like my character, so I chose an Oath of the Crown Paladin and did the whole playthrough as a noble, heroic knight. His name…. was Tav.

Now, I’m doing my Dark Urge run, where I plan to fully embrace it and basically go in the complete opposite direction of my Paladin. Name’s Myrcus (Marcus with a Y, hella medieval)

Then I thought, damn, if Tav met the Myrcus, he’d smite him until there’s nothing but ash and bone. Of course, the playthrough JUST started, so give Myrcus a few weeks and it’d actually be a pretty cool fight.

And Bart would’ve tried to get an alliance with either of them, and when that didn’t work he’d cast invisibility and run, maybe come back to loot the corpse of the loser.

Anyway, who’d win in a free for all between every PC you’ve created?

——

The only real rules, none of the Tavs get any companions to help them out, obviously.

You can use any potions, coatings, scrolls, or other equipment that you usually buff them with before a big boss fight. Basically pretend you’re walking into the High Hall Courtyard or the Myrkul fight, but instead of the boss, it’s all of your previous Tavs.

Feel free to take it fully mechanically/gameplay wise, or your own imagination of which one is actually more skilled or who has the tactical advantage over the other, whatever ya wanna do, I’m curious.

Inquisitive Rogue/Drunken Master Monk multiclass? Does this suck?

I don't know how to better phrase the question.

I'm pretty new to DnD, only done 1 short campaign that fizzled out after a couple months, and a bunch of one/two shots.

Obviously this is a pretty role-play heavy multiclass, and that's what I plan on playing it as, but I'm also just curious about the deeper mechanics and synergies between the 2 classes/subclasses, (if there are any).

If the 2 classes REALLY clash and suck together, I'd also love any suggestions or advice for this character idea? How to make them both mechanically viable while still fitting my original vision?

------

You don't actually need to read anything below this. Its just the actual character concept I'm tryna build.

The character idea is basically just a drunk Sherlock Holmes type. (Also really wanna make em a Harengon, but idk if that race is commonly allowed by DMs- it seems a bit out there).

I've got a short but (IMO) interesting backstory written up-

Parents fled the Feywild for unknown reasons, joined a guild of petty criminals, and were killed by corrupt Waterdeep law enforcement. Before they died, his mother taught Flynn (my PC) a bunch of spiritual stuff about balance and ki (I honestly had no clue how to include the monk side of things, this is the best I got). Then he grew up on the streets until he was taken under the wing of a city investigator. Then the investigator is framed for a crime/killed and the corrupt officials push Flynn back out onto the streets.

----

Any help or advice would be amazing!

If you wanted to play a character like this, how would you build them?

I believe my next one shot is starting us out at level 8, and there's a chance that'll turn into a full campaign. But even if it doesn't, I'm really interested in playing this character and wanna make sure it's really fun.

What is this? Ancient Mega Pack Mod “Planar Emporium”

I’m like halfway through my playthrough and this thing just suddenly appeared in my camp right next to my bedrolls.

I’ve combed through the info book, looked it up online, even threw some coins (it just sends them right back with a pop up saying “received ____ coin” but the rarity doesn’t change)

What am I missing? What is this for???

Also is there like a website or SOMETHING that explains everything about this mod in detail? The little info book is nice, but it clearly does not explain everything.

(Also I’m on console, if that changes anything)

——

Another up question cuz this one got answered real quick-

When it says I need to worship a specific god to get an effect, is there another way of achieving that “if you worship _____” other than through a shard or being a cleric?

Seems like there are so many of those items, but far less shards to actually give that status, and even then you gotta find the specific god-shard you want. It can’t be this complicated right?

Best difficulty increasing mods for Unlock Level Curve mod CONSOLE

(FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. NO SPOILERS. I BEG)

Exactly what the name says, any help would be awesome.

I did NOT think this through. I downloaded the Unlock Level Curve mod and installed it around level 6. Then I got that .75 XP increasing mod that goes along with it to help get up to level 20 by the end of the game. This was all my first experience with using mods on console, or at all for that matter.

I had ASSUMED (yeah it was dumb but I was excited) that Unlock Level Curve just did the same thing it does to you (as in while your attacks get extra dice added to their damage, and you get extra health with each level- the bare bones level up stuff) that it just applied that same thing to the enemies.

As yall definitely know, it doesn’t.

I’m now level 14 and getting ready to fight Raphael (I’m sneaking into the House of Hope), and I’m worried it’s gonna feel closer to fighting the imps in Act 1.

——

Anyhoo, I already downloaded Tactician Enhanced, and have set it to the preset called something like Tactician/Honor Mode difficulty 2x, which I’m pretty sure only gives them more health.

If I need to I will go ahead and bump it up to the preset that also gives them all another attack, but that’s not really ideal- all of this just makes the fight last longer doesn’t it? At level 17-20 the enemies are just gonna be damage sponges that tickle me a bunch but deal no real damage.

If I’m wrong about that and all of this is baseless anxiety, plz let me know.

But if possible, I’d love a mod that has them just SCALE UP to my level.

I’m also thinking about adding the extra encounters and/or more enemies mods, but again, isn’t that just making fights take longer? Not actually be that much more difficult?

—-

FOLLOW UP QUESTION CUZ I JUST LEARNED SOMETHING THAT MIGHT WORK

I didn’t know how custom honor mode works. Now I do.

I know I can’t change this game into a custom honor mode difficulty, but do yall think that would be enough to counteract the boosted level cap in the late game? Maybe that in tandem with Tactician Enhanced’s double HP?

My plan for my next and 2nd playthrough, is to just set it to Honor Mode with Single Save toggled off, so I can keep all the difficulty enhancing features without dealing with permanent deaths.

I’ll also be using more mods in my next playthrough, so that should even out the actual honor mode difficulty in the early game, at least a little bit.

Has anyone tried this? How did it feel? I also haven’t experimented with Honor Mode at all, just going off stuff I read online, so lmk if I literally can’t do this

Would you allow someone to play this witch class? If you were allowing homebrew classes?

Hey yall, I found this homebrew witch class online, by Mage Hand Press, and I wanna try to find a campaign that allows homebrew classes and pitch it to the DM, buuut I’m not actually too knowledgeable about balance and stuff, kinda new to actual DnD.

It looks balanced enough, but if any DM out there has the time and wants to sift through, and lmk if it’s balanced enough to play, or if it’s just too weird, whatever, that’d be cool. I’m not tryna ask someone if I can play a broken or annoying class.

I know it’s a LOT, but if you’re into homebrew it’s probably a good read. I’ve only done a handful of one shots, and 2 pretty short campaigns so far, but from what I’m reading here it looks pretty unique.

Only thing I’m seeing that might be broken is the fact you can concentrate on a “hex” and a spell on the same time. But the hexes are pretty weak, you need to use your bonus action to “cackle” to keep a hex up for more than 1 round, and you roll 1 con save for both the hex and spell.

That sounds like it evens it out, but let me know if there’s an exploit I’m missing. Or maybe don’t! Kinda better if I don’t know how to break the class lol

Basically I’m just asking if it’s balanced and you’d let someone play it (if you were running homebrew classes), or it’s overpowered and/or too complex for a DM to wanna keep track of.

——-

Also follow up beginner question, would it break anything if I wanted to use Intelligence instead of Charisma as my spellcasting ability? I wouldn’t multiclass- I’ve assume that’s where things get messy- intellegence would just fit the character I’m tryna build way better than charisma.

And damn, does literally everyone need to be a charisma based spellcaster? That’s the one thing I kinda hate about this class, both wisdom and intelligence work way better roleplay-wise in my opinion, and we really don’t need ANOTHER face of the party

WHY? What did I do to force Rolan to fight against me?

(If ya can’t tell from the SS, this is the cutscene right before me and Nighsong fight Lorroakan in Act 3)

This is my first playthrough, and I already save scummed once bc I had accidentally killed Rolan during the fight (I didn’t even remember seeing him or him being there, and I guess I’d accidentally rushed through this part of the cut scene) and wanted to know if I could just knock him out.

So I learned that he’s SUPPOSED to turn against Lorroakan and help me in the fight. So WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do to get that dialogue option.

And if I can’t get that dialogue option for whatever reason, follow up question- anyone know if I can just knock him out? I just don’t wanna lose this shop

I’m literally a wizard! I can’t lose the final scrolls/magic items merchant 😭

Why can’t I use Shadow Blade (definatly a dumb question)

This is a ridiculously simple and stupid question but idk where else I can get an answer specific to my character.

I need tech support, and yall are the closest I got lol

This was working before I respecced, and I also just downloaded the Mystra’s Spells mod (which I why i needed to respec).

I had 3 levels in Eldrich Knight fighter, and 6 in Bladesinger Wizard. I had Duel Weapon Fighting style, and I think I also had Dueling, but I’m not sure.

And with all that, I was using this sword, and the shadow blade in my off hand.

The only things I’ve changed are adding the spells, and changing from 3 levels in Eldrich Knight to 3 levels in Battle Master.

What happened? I’m pretty confident it ain’t a bug and I’m just dumb.

Help with my Bladesinger Wizard? Multiclass options/how multiclass works?

I am lost. Some context:

I actually know a decent amount about DnD. I played a mini campaign with some friends last year that ran for a couple months, and I got suuuuper into it during that period.

BUT

I never even thought about multiclassing during that time, and this is my first playthrough of BG3

Also I'm running a mod that boosts the level cap up to 20. So my multiclass options are a bit more open than the vanilla game.

I'm currently level 9.

Idfk what I'm doing. I just wanna be a cool spellsword wizard.

I thought my best option was to put 3 levels in Eldrich Knight fighter because it's the only other spellcaster who's spells scale off Intellegence.

But it looks like that was a bad choice? At least from what I'm reading online, im hearing multiclass is kinda redundant?

All the posts I've been reading say to Hexblade Warlock, but how does that help when my Charisma is only 12?

I know it adds that to your weapon attacks, but I can't invest in Dex, Int, Con, AND Cha.

Same deal with Paladins, I keep seeing them mentioned but how does the scaling work???

Really just any advice at all would be awesome. Again I'm so lost.

How many playthroughs have ya done? Which was your fav? Why?

Alrighty so I haven't yet finished my first playthrough, but I think I'm somewhat close. Still got at least a few hours left, but I'm definitely closer to the end than the middle.

I'm far enough along that I've started to really think about what I wanna do for my next playthrough.

But I'd love to hear some advice/ideas for what was especially fun!

Obviously you can be vague, but I'd really rather hear specific reasons-

  • a class/subclass/multiclass that was really fun

  • a choice that changed the game entirely (let's plz try not to spoil anything too big, like keep that stuff contaned to Act 1 if you can)

  • smething crazy that happened in game that was really memorable or rare

  • a party composition you fell in love with

  • role-playing as a certain archetype being really fun or rewarding

Whatever!

I'm just curious!

I kinda hate how quickly this is figured out

I’m sorry, I love the show, but I’m currently doing a rewatch with a friend and they pointed this out to me, and ever since I have not been able to drop it.

Like I’m genuinely starting to just dislike how Armin is written. Bring on the downvotes, but at least explain why I’m wrong?

Firstly, I remember this being a WAY bigger reveal, and my friend was super disappointed by this moment in the show.

We’re like halfway through the first season, and the whole time they were SUPER excited to figure out what the hell these titan shifters are. Their big theory was that there was a society of intellegent titans out there somewhere, or that the big twist was that the humans we were following weren’t actually humans and the giants were the real humans. He had a bunch of ideas.

And then this moment happens. And it’s just instantly thrown in your face despite there being literally NO hints or evidence to point to this.

This was a guess that is written and spoken as if it’s an established fact. I just kinda hate that. Like Armin ~knows~ that the female, armored, and colossal titans are all humans who can change into titans. He shouldn’t KNOW that, I don’t care how smart he is, that’s a random educated guess

I just feel like Armin’s “great intellegence” is really just the writer expositing a bunch of info through Armin’s mouth, and justifying it with just a blanket “oh yeah he figured it out. How? Well Armin is like, really super duper smart.”

There are a few other moments I’m just kinda preparing myself for now. Like I remember being frustrated by this on my first watch, but I kinda feel like the tension during the reveal of Bertholdt and Reiner is completely destroyed when they decide to randomly cut to Armin the night before going ‘hey yall, I think they’re titans!’

Like why even have that scene? As far as I remember, it changes absolutely NOTHING that happens and is solely there as another showing of Armin being smart.

Alright, downvote me to hell, I’m just curious if im alone in this?

Any ideas for a Bladesinger Wizard multiclass? (Up to level 20, I have the Level Curve Mod installed)

I got way ahead of myself when I learned I could install that mod lol

I was really just planning ahead for my next playthrough, I wanna do a Drunken Master/Thief, but would’ve liked to go a bit further.

Also thinking of doing College of Swords/Swashbuckler, but again, wanted to push it a few levels further.

Anyhoo, I got no clue what to do for a Bladesinger, my current playthrough.

I’m currently only level 7, but i also have the .75x XP boost mod to help me get up to level 20, so don’t worry about that.

Would rather not download any more mods unless it is 1000% safe and not a massive overhaul- I know those massive expanded spell lists exist, but im saving them for my next playthrough.

Any ideas would be great!

——

Also if anyone could possibly explain how the different spells work with multiclassing? I’m not even 100% that I’ll go into another spellcaster, I think I’d rather do a martial, but I’m still confused either way.

I’ve heard that which ability you use for the spellcasting depends on which class you got the spell from, is that true? And if so, that really complicates my multiclass options when there’s no other intelligence spellcaster

Any ideas for new mechanics/additions you wanna see in BG4?

I’m just curious! I know the general consensus is “as long as they take their time and keep the story as the main focus, it’ll be great” and I 10000% agree, but it’s still fun to brainstorm!

Like, for example- while I absolutely love BG3, I do ~kinda~ feel they could’ve done more with the Warlock class as a PC. They handled Paladins REALLY well, I do wish there was a similar type of system for Warlocks.

Of course I don’t have any real ideas for this, the best I could come up with would be very short sidequests or requests that pop up. Like maybe if you’re a Fiend Warlock you’ll be asked to spare a tiefling enemy, while if you’re an Archfey Warlock you might be asked to steal something from the mayor of a town or just prank someone somehow, idk.

I have no clue what the consequences of not doing these requests would be, but maybe just to be safe there wouldn’t be consequences- just very small rewards or temporary buffs for completing them.

Again, not a game designer or anything, that’s just an example of an added mechanic idea. Hate it if you want! But if you tell me it sucks you AT LEAST needa have a better idea ready to go lol

Also doesn’t need to be big ideas like that. Just anything you wanna see transferred over from DnD. If you have an idea for how to fit a complex DnD mechanic into a video game setting though, I’d love to hear it!

Some more idea examples:

- New races, what exactly do you want to see with those races? Interactions with other races, gameplay mechanics, whatever

- New subclasses, any cool actions you wanna see translated from table top to BG4?

- Historic DnD events or characters you wanna see make an appearance? Or do you wanna keep it to mostly original characters?

Etc. etc. etc.

(Before anyone comes for me- yall, Baldur’s Gate 3 is an incredible game. I am not saying anything is missing or wrong with it. It is perfect. I just think it’s fun to brainstorm and hear others’ ideas)

Everything is perfectly fine.

Ya see, I’d be panicking if there was no chance she wins this and I have to do this fight A FOURTH GODAMN TIME.

But I’m not panicking. Because there is chance.

There’s a chance I’m done, and I can leave this cave, and never see another godamn spiderling in my life. 1 in 17? That’s great odds, what are the odds you and me exist? Like 1 in a trillion!

So I’m gonna fine, because I exist. Therefore everything is fine.

(Also how tf do beat this fight? This dude is ridiculously tanky and keeps instantly hatching a million spiderlings at a time. WHY ARE THEY EGGS IF THEYRE ALL READY TO HATCH?!)

Who’s been the most underutilized character in the MCU

This is compared to how they were utilized in the movies thus far vs how (you believe) they could’ve been utilized instead.

NOT TALKING ABOUT THE ACTORS! TALKING ABOUT THE CHARACTERS!

Yes, what they did to Christian Bale/Gorr the God Butcher was a letdown, but realistically Gorr wasn’t gonna be showing up in more films past that.

Incase you live under a rock:

- Maria Hill

Yeah she was in a bunch of movies, but I still feel like she never had any actual ~character~, could’ve used a little more fleshing out

- Hulk

Damn man, we’re really never getting a standalone MCU hulk movie are we. Again, yeah, he’s been in a lot of movies and had his share of character arcs, but 1 real story dedicated to Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner set in the established MCU would’ve been dope.

Oh also “hey guys, here’s my son!” WHAT THE ACTUAL FK WAS THAT?!

- Shang Chi

I don’t care that he’ll be in the next movies, godammit he should’ve been helping to tie this whole last phase together!

- Ulysses Klaw

IMO his death just kinda came outta nowhere. He wasn’t ever gonna have a massive role in the overall MCU story, but his death just sorta left a bad taste in my mouth.

- TASERFACE

Thanos waited for Odin, the Ancient One, Ego the Living Planet, and TASERFACEEEEEE to die before enacting his plan. I wish we could’ve seen the fight between these two.

- Kate Bishop

Same deal with Shang Chi, although I don’t even know if Hailee’s name was on one of those chairs. She better have been. I need to see more of her and Yelena asap

- Mordo

They really just skipped an entire Dr. Strange movie didn’t they?

"Rise of Dracula" TV show idea!

So I posted this a couple weeks ago, basically just to ask the question- "why the hell doesn't it exist yet?!"

I loved all the comments and suggestions yall gave, some were really close to what I'd envisioned, buuuuut I'm picky. So eventually, I just decided to map it out myself.

PLEASE give any suggestions or tips you have.

Obviously this is just a little hobby that'll never actually be made, but screw it- it's fun to think about.

The only real thing ya gotta know is that only the LAST SEASON actually focuses on Vlad himself.

The whole show is spent looking primarily through the eyes of a different character that affects Vlad's story.

———

 SEASON 1 “Elena”

Season 1 follows Elena, Vlad's wife and the mother of his young (5-7yr old) son Georg.

The first episode doesn't even show Vlad until the very end. It's just spent showing this small village, and Elena's routine. There are a few references to the fact that Vlad has been gone on his trip a bit longer than usual

The episode finally ends with Vlad stumbling into his little hut home and collapsing on the ground.

WE DONT LEARN HOW/WHAT STARTED VAMPIRISM FOR A FEW SEASONS

The rest of the season, Vlad is spent in bed and barely conscious. The main character is Elena, and the antagonist is the village priest.

Over the course of the season, strange supernatural incidents keep occurring near Vlad- he seems stronger despite being sick and weak, glass breaks and holy water boils, his teeth turn to fangs and he suddenly seems erratic and violent near blood, etc.

The village grows more and more paranoid, and Georg slowly begins to believe their fears. The toddler questions a lot of stuff, mainly-- if my father is a devil, am I a devil spawn?

Finally, on the last episode the village storms Vlad's hut and takes both him and Elena to be executed for witchcraft.

Elena is killed first, and with the sight of her gushing blood, Vlad breaks free from his chains and drinks her blood- finalizing the transformation into a vampire.

In this new frenzied state, Vlad massacres the entire village, all while little Georg watches.

Finally, Georg picks up a broken wooded cross from the ground, and stabs his father in the back with it. This leaves a burning scar, but snaps Vlad out of his frenzy.

He turns to look back at his son, trembling in fear, but before he can do anything, little Georg picks out the cross, and stabs himself with it out of fear and religious shame.

The last shot is Vlad holding his son's body, while surrounded by the destroyed village and corpses of his neighbors.

———

 SEASON 2 “Father Tomas”

The 2nd season will follow a wandering, elderly priest named Tomas, whom Vlad stumbles upon while desperately trying to supress his hunger.

This season takes place only a couple years, maybe a decade at most, after the events of season 1.

Father Tomas is compassionate towards Vlad, and tells him a rumor he'd heard of a powerful Christian relic or priest that maybe can cure him

The two travel together throughout the season, with a primary focus on philosophical discussions about religion, god, and Vlad's condition.

The season ends when the pair finally find the relic/priest, and realize there is no cure for Vlad other than death.

Tomas genuinely believed there would be a cure, that God wouldn't leave Vlad like this. And so, when he learns there is no cure, and after having seen Vlad act monsterious throughout the season, he decides that death is a mercy.

Tomas tries to kill Vlad, an ultimate betrayal after the bond theyd developed. Vlad easily kills and drains him.

The final shot is Vlad praying over the body, only to make the realization that God is not here for him, turning away from religion.

———

 SEASON 3 “The Alchemist”

Season 3 follows an enigmatic and incredibly wealthy proto scientist/occult practitioner. I haven't come up with a name yet lol

The alchemist would somehow stumble upon Vlad, and instead of being terrified, he'd be astonished.

The alchemist saw Vlad's powers not as a curse, but as a blessing, a blessing he wants.

Vlad would end up living in the Alchemists massive hilltop mansion, wherein the two would develop a friendship as the alchemist studies and expariments on vlad to learn more about vampirism.

However, Vlad would be under the impression the alchemist was searching for a cure, or at least a way to supress the negative effects. When in reality, the alchemist was searching for a way to spread vampirism to himself

During this season, vlad would learn more about his powers. He'd develop shapeshifting into a bat or animal form. Develop his manipulation over shadows and darkness. And eventually, develop some telepathy.

(We could also use this season to learn how vampirism began and how vlad got it, answering that big mystery front episode 1)

While all this is happening, the alchemist would have learned that he simply needs to drink from Vlad's blood, then die to cause the curse, then drink someone's blood to finalize the transformation. But, just as he does this, Vlad manages to read his mind and learn that the whole "friendship" was a lie.

The two fight, but Vlad, being reminded of Tomas, he spares the Alchemist, who flees the mansion, leaving it to Vlad.

———

 SEASON 4 “Katarina”

Katarina is a young woman in a neighboring town who gets accused of witchcraft.

Katarina reminds Vlad of Elena, and he intervenes to save her, bringing her back to his enormous mansion for the rest of the season.

Throughout the season, Vlad is desperately trying to hide his vampirism from Katarina, using his telepathy to slightly mess with her mind, and growing more and more hungry each day.

Vlad clearly falls for Katarina, as they both share a deep disdain for God, the catholic church, and people who are scared of what they don't understand. Although it's not clear how much of Katarinas actions are her own, and how much is Vlad subconciousless influencing her, and he's slowing beginning to lose his grip on humanity.

For all these reasons, Vlad eventually reveals himself to Katarina, and asks if she wants to become a vampire and spend the rest of eternity with him.

Yet, contrary to all that "big game" She was talking throughout the season, Katarina reacts exactly as everyone has.

She screams and runs, and most insultingly to Vlad, she prays to god.

Out of both fury for her reaction and his desperate hunger thats been building all season, Vlad hunts Katarina down through the woods and kills her.

The last shot is Vlad feeding on Katarina's corpse, as the audience finally realizes he has lost his humanity entirely.

———

 SEASON 5 “Hutter”

Not much to say here, this season would basically just be the retelling of the classic "Nosferatu," story, just spread across a full season.

We'd be focusing on the real estate agent Thomas Hutter, and his wife Ellen, whom Vlad notices for having a striking resemblance to Elena. He mugh even believe Ellen is Elena reincarnated depending on the lore has been fleshed out.

Anyway, the season basically runs through the story of Nosferatu, with Vlad as the clear antagonist. Only difference- no happy ending, Vlad wins in this season.

———

 SEASON 6 “The Ship Hand”

Again, haven't given him a name yet, but this story would follow a little teenage kid who works as a ship hand on the Demeter.

Vlad, having grown tired to Europe and how much reminds him of what he's lost, decides to leave and journey to the america, who recently just gained independence.

I'm not sure how this season will work, because the actual story of the Demeter can't fit into a full season. I envisioned it more as the last couple episodes. But I have no clue how we'd be "following" the ship hand in that case.

Anyway, the last few episodes are the key here, as Vlad picks off crew members of the Demeter 1 by 1 on his way to America.

The ship hand ends up throwing himself overboard and survives the incident, he goes onto form an order of vampire hunters in America.

———

 SEASON 7 “The Alchemist PT2”

This would be the strangest season, as it jumps back to the alchemist RIGHT at the moment he fled Vlad and left his mansion.

This season wouldn't have a single story thread, but instead just jump through the ages and show what the alchemist did.

We'd see that he journeyed to America much earlier than Vlad, during the American revolution. We'd see that he spread vampirism to more people. We'd see the rise of that vampire hunting order in America

Maybe we'd even see some extra supernatural stuff- id really like werewolves to exist somewhere here, but I have absolutely no way to meaningfully fit them into any season so far.

Mostly though, the season would be spent getting the audience attached to the alchemist as a new protagonist. He would find little mysteries and slowly learn that Vlad has come to America. But we'd never ~really~ even see Vlad through this season.

Eventually we're in the modern day, and the alchemist finds Vlad. The two have a huge, badass fight, but eventually Vlad does kill the alchemist- the guy we've been following the whole season.

 SEASON 8 “Dracula”

(If we didn't learn it during season 3, this is where we learn how vlad actually contracted/started vampirism)

Finally the season finale. This would recontextualize a lot of the older events, finally seeing things from his perspective.

Maybe here we get some big reveals or retcon events from the past, showing Vlad as an unreliable narrator.

Maybe Father Tomas never attacked him, Vlad just lost control in his anger. Maybe Katarina was fully under Vlad's psychic control, and she wasn't falling in love with him at all. Stuff like that.

Primarily this season would follow Vlad from the moment he reached America, into the modern day. It would also explain some of the previous mysteries or unexplained events from the Alchemists story.

I haven't thought much about the end, but I like the idea of that monster hunting order finally being the ones to kill him. Maybe even the one to kill him being a direct descendent of the ship hand who escaped centuries ago

Overall, the premise would be to show Dracula's rise from a scared, good, family man, into the monster feared across the world.

Obviously not every detail is filled out. There's a TON of room here for additional side plots or characters, and tweaks to be made or added.

If you have ANY THOUGHTS AT ALL

"I hate it. This sucks."

"It'd be cool if this happened."

"This part is a little meh."

Whatever. Please tell me! I'd love to keep brainstorming this concept! I think it could be so cool, but I ain't a professional filmmaker!!!

Is there some law that prevents cops from being “mean” to obviously confirmed criminals?

I watch a lot of body cam footage, i hate it, but I can’t look away.

My absolute favorite moments are when some absolute POS scumbag who just CLEARLY did something horrible, whether on camera, through overwhelming evidence, or just literally caught doing it, gets talked to like the scumbag they are.

But… it doesn’t seem to happen often. I’m curious if there’s a reason for that? I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a law forcing you to remain civil, or after so long on the job you just get tired of it.

Im talking about OBVIOUS domestic abuse situations, hit and runs caught on camera, or just straight up murders or kidnappings where they’re caught red handed.

Like maybe im just messed up in the head, but I feel like once I was sure there was enough evidence for a serious charge— like obviously sure— idk if I could stop myself from just laying into them.

One of my favorite speeches ever from a body cam footage video was some 20 some girl who was drunk driving and killed a family and a bystander. She was interviewed in the hospital and VERY clearly did not seem to care and was lying through her teeth. Eventually the cop got fed up, and just explained her in full detail that she killed like 5 people and was going to spend a long time in prison, there was nothing she could do about it, and that he personally hoped she was going spend as long as the judge could allow. He then explained what prison was like, and what the news was gonna say about her tomorrow, and what her friends were gonna think when they saw it.

Yeah, maybe I’m messed up, but i godamn loved watching her little smirk fade away. Does that happen more often and im just gettin bad videos?!

Tl/dr- is there something— either a law, just the mentality dealing with criminals a lot, or something else— that stops you from treating criminals like you despise them (when you do despise them that is, I’m assuming that must happen relatively commonly)

Fairies

Office of Metaphysical Evaluation and Neutralization:

FAIRY CLASSIFICATION OVERVIEW

Fairies are a class of extradimensional entities originating from a realm known as “The Garden."

Despite centuries of observation, O.M.E.N. has never successfully located or studied The Garden itself, leaving much of fairy civilization shrouded in mystery. Various encounters suggest the realm may have historical connections to daemonic entities—including angels, demons, furies, and djinn—leading some researchers to theorize that The Garden may be linked to the biblical Garden of Eden. However this remains speculation due to the commonly contradictory or abstract responses fairies give regarding The Garden’s appearance.

Fairies are currently prohibited from permanently residing on Earth under O.M.E.N. mandate. And while fairy populations comply, unauthorized immigration remains common, particularly among PIXIE and SPRITE refugees fleeing ongoing the conflicts within The Garden. Others, primarily BROWNIES, simply don’t recognize the risk posed by civilian exposure.

Although fairy species vary dramatically in appearance and behavior, all known fairy races share several characteristics:

-Varied small physical stature

-The ability to enter and disappear from Earth through as of yet unrecorded or witnessed means

-An intuitive awareness of a person's "essence," allowing them to instinctively judge an individual’s moral character after learning their full legal name

-An indefinite lifespan only ended through physical injury

Six distinct fairy species have been identified.

PIXIES

Pixies are tiny insectoid humanoids averaging approximately three inches in height. Their bodies resemble miniature humanoids with 4 insectoid arms, and comparatively large butterfly-like wings whose colors and patterns vary massively between individuals.

Pixies possess an intimate connection with ecosystems and wildlife, commonly inhabiting forests, meadows, and other wilderness environments. Their lifespan appears directly linked to the nearby environmental health; healthy ecosystems can sustain a pixie indefinitely, while pollution or industrialization appears to cause an unknown and irreversible sickness.

Pixies are capable of producing an anomalous particulate substance commonly referred to as “Pixie Dust”. Exposure can induce confusion, memory loss, drowsiness, paranoia, and/or impulsive behavior. The specific effects of which are controlled by the pixie or pixies responsible. Individual pixies produce only minor effects, but large swarms have demonstrated the capacity to cause permanent psychological damage through sustained use.

When threatened, pixies can transform into a larger combat-oriented morphology known as a “battle form”, growing to roughly six or seven inches in height. This form resembles a predatory insect with six legs and mantis-like forelimbs, while losing its wings. In the wild, these forms are commonly mistaken for exceptionally large praying mantis, which pixies are known to exploit in order to maintain **THE VEIL**.

Though still physically vulnerable to most terrestrial predators, even small rodents, battle forms are highly effective against their ancestral enemies: the Sprites. Pixies and Sprites have reportedly maintained an active state of war for several millennia within The Garden.

SPRITES

Sprites are physically the most human-like fairy species known.

Standing approximately five inches tall, sprites appear nearly identical to miniature humans, distinguished only by a pair of hummingbird-like wings that allow for exceptionally fast and maneuverable flight.

Also similar to humans, sprites display strong tendencies toward industry, craftsmanship, and technological development. They construct villages, manufacture tools and weapons, and organize themselves into societies remarkably similar to human civilizations.

The long-running conflict between sprites and pixies is believed to stem from fundamentally opposed philosophies, and how Sprite industrialization is a natural threat to the Pixie survival. Both sides seem to desire the other to relinquish control of The Garden and take up permanent residency on Earth. This cannot be allowed to happen.

NYMPHS

Nymphs are aquatic fairies believed to have maintained consistent contact with early humans across many cultures.

Rarely encountered by O.M.E.N., these entities resemble bioluminescent humanoid jellyfish ranging from six inches to one foot in height, with significantly longer tendril-like “hair” extending anywhere from 2-4 feet below them. Their translucent bodies emit soft light and display extraordinary control over water.

Observed abilities include:

-Freezing water instantly.

-Boiling water without external heat.

-Accelerating biological healing.

-Transmuting water into various exotic materials, including metallic compounds.

Of particular interest is evidence suggesting one or more nymphs may have been involved in the creation of the legendary sword from Arthurian myth known as ~Excalibur~ recently recovered by O.M.E.N.

Nymphs also appear to maintain regular contact with the classified pelagic civilization (mermaids) and have likely done so for centuries. This relationship remains a significant concern to O.M.E.N., as it increases the possibility of supernatural exposure to humanity.

BROWNIES

Brownies are among the most common fairy entities encountered on Earth and are widely regarded as the most irritating for O.M.E.N field operatives.

Standing between two and three feet tall, brownies resemble oversized plush creatures covered in soft brown fur, possessing large eyes and pointed ears. Witnesses prior to termination frequently describe them as "living teddy bears."

Their primary interests are entertainment, curiosity, and practical jokes, which they will engage in at all costs, seeming to lack any real understanding of mortal consequences or human fragility.

Known abilities include:

-Teleportation.

-Invisibility.

-Telekinesis.

Brownies generally obey O.M.E.N. regulations regarding civilian exposure, though they routinely exploit loopholes for amusement, and skate concerningly close to the line of civilian exposure.

A significant portion of unexplained missing objects—including socks, keys, wallets, and household items—are believed to be attributable to brownie activity, as well as slightly more drastic “pranks,” such as causing psychotic breaks via intensive paranoia, car accidents via sudden engine or break failure, or framing civilians for thefts or non violent crimes are believed to be the acts of Mischivous brownies.

While rarely outwardly malicious, brownies remain one of O.M.E.N.'s most persistent administrative problems.

SYLTHS

Sylths are the least understood and arguably most dangerous fairy species currently known.

They rarely remain physically manifested for extended periods, often fading from reality within minutes or hours of observation, similar to many Revenancy class manifestations (ghosts).

Rather than possessing stable biological forms, sylths appear as flowing ribbons of translucent light that occasionally coalesce into vaguely humanoid shapes or faces, and constantly let off a singing or humming like-tune that elicits a calming sensation in listeners.

No reliable method of communication has been established. Nevertheless, sylths have occasionally responded to spoken requests on rare occasions, implying some level of intelligence and comprehension.

Their presence is consistently associated with severe anomalies involving magic, space, and time.

Documented effects include:

-Dramatic amplification of nearby spellcraft and magical phenomena

-Spatial distortions (Unexplained transportation of individuals across vast distances)

-Temporal displacement (Apparent acceleration or skipping of time)

The most infamous sylth-related event in O.M.E.N. history occurred on November 17th, 1972, at the now decommissioned SITE-13. During the testing of a Divinity-Runic ritual, personnel reported the manifestation of roughly 2 dozen sylths throughout the testing chamber. This report log came only moments before SITE-13 abruptly vanished from reality, leaving behind an empty plot of land that would later be designated SITE-X.

The location remained under constant observation for the next fifty years. Then, on the exact same November morning and at the exact same recorded time of disappearance in 2022, SITE-13 instantaneously returned. Several researchers assigned to monitor SITE-X were instantaneously killed when portions of the building manifested directly around their bodies. Though, every member of personnel lost during the 1972 incident also reappeared alongside the facility. Interviews revealed that none of them perceived any passage of time whatsoever, universally describing the event as a brief flash or blink before finding themselves surrounded by unfamiliar faces and technology half imbedded into their walls, and some of their colleagues.

All recovered personnel were later terminated alongside SITE-16 following direct orders from SITE-02.

CHANGELINGS

Changelings represent one of the highest-priority fairy classifications within O.M.E.N. archives.

Evidence indicates changeling infants somehow replace human children shortly after birth, however the mechanism behind these exchanges remains entirely unknown. No confirmed swap event has ever been recorded or admitted to by an adult changeling. Current leading theory suggests that changelings native to The Garden must be responsible, though an unknown 3rd party entity is still possible.

The displaced children are sometimes discovered years later, often deceased, though many are also never recovered.

Most changelings are unaware of their true nature during childhood and adolescence. They genuinely believe themselves to be human until their abilities begin to manifest, and even following that, most go their entire lives without ever understanding the origins of their supernatural abilities.

A changeling's primary anomalous trait is complete biological and psychological mimicry. Shapeshifting, primarily through touch however older changelings have shown the capability to shapeshift simply through proximity.

In addition to simply mimicking an individuals appearance, a changeling also learns their memories, acquires their skills, experiences/instinctively knows their thoughts and emotions. Effectively they learn the deepest aspects of a person’s soul, or “essence.” However, changelings are also known to mentally deteriorate following excessive use of their shapeshifting on new targets, accumulating too many identities can lead to a severe form of DID (dissociative identity disorder).

The only consistently reliable identifier is the presence of faint, star-like speckles within the eyes, which remain present no matter their form.

Perhaps most strange aspect of changeling lore is their relationship to other fairy species. Accounts collected from Garden natives describe changelings as folklore, monsters, same as our own— ghost stories they tell sprite or brownie children at night. Fairy communities reportedly experience the same infant replacements observed among humans and possess no greater understanding of the phenomenon or where these changelings are coming from.

Neither O.M.E.N. nor the inhabitants of The Garden currently know where changelings originate—or who is responsible for creating them.

Alrighty, that’s everything about the entities known as “FAIRIES,” in my lore.

Usually I post link to a google doc, but I’m staring to think those are somehow even more boring to read than if I just throw it all on here. Tell me if I’m wrong!

Also, if you’re curious why I don’t use the word “fae” here, I already have entities called “fae.” They’re actually daemons, same things as angels, demons, djinn, furies, shadows, and daevas. Each of those are tied to a different god, with fae being specifically tied to the god Wotan.

Wotan was Odin, Quetalzoatl, Thoth, and a few other gods, basically being the god of knowledge. And his daemons, the fae, are little specs of electricity/blue fire that manifest (invisible without special gear) near locations of academic and scientific breakthroughs or study. Just an extra lore dump there.

AI art for hobbies? Why do people hate me?

Context:

——

To preface all this- I’m a nerd.

I like fantasy and urban fantasy worldbuilding, and am pretty active in those types of forums.

I love to write and have hundreds of documents detailing my world of “O.M.E.N,” the Office of Metaphysical Evaluation and Neutralization. Basically an SCP ripoff focused purely on urban fantasy.

Anyway, recently, I decided to plug my documents into ChatGPT to make images, just was curious of what they’d look like since i hadn’t touched AI image generation stuff since it first came out, and it freaked me tf out back then.

They looked awesome, I can send some over to anyone who’s interested- they’re basically SCP style documents with some pictures attached.

——-

Prior to this I understood the overall consensus on AI art— “bad”

And I get it for the most part, when related to a professional setting at least.

It’s awful how many people are gonna lose their job, and people passing off AI artwork as their own is just a slap in the face to people who dedicated years of their life to acquiring that skill.

But…

I was never gonna pay an artist to make any of this? It’s literally just a hobby I do in my free time for fun, and yet, anytime I’ve tried to post them I get downvoted into oblivion, even when I explain that I’m not makin any money off this stuff and just wanna share my worldbuilding.

And to be fair, I have posted just the documents before, but let’s be honest- no one is reading 4-12 pages worth of google documents written in an official report style. But if they were on actual pictures, suddenly they become actually pretty interesting to engage with and read.

Idk, kinda just venting. Mods do yo thang if this isn’t allowed or has already been discussed to death.

The VAMPIRES of O.M.E.N

Yes, the images were made with AI :( I’m 23 years old and don’t have the money to afford a real artist. Also this is just a small time writing hobby. IMO this isn’t taking work from real artists because if AI images didn’t exist, I still wouldn’t go pay an artist, I simply wouldn’t have any pictures to go along with this project

I’m never gonna try to make money off this project. I would never try to pass it off as a real artist’s work. And every other aspect of this project is my own work, it’s just damn hard to not turn to such an easy method of making pretty great visuals when you’re just doin something for fun in your free time.

This was originally just a writing project, I’ll link some of their documents below. But, when i tried sharing this stuff on a few forums, I kinda realized NO ONE wants to read through 4-12 pages of nonstop, sheer, information. They need pictures to bring in any interest at all.

Check out the documents though if you wanna hear more about them, these pictures really only offer a FRACTION of their lore and history, every single vampire here has PAGES of additional lore behind them (except Helene, Solomon, and Tony, they’re the most recent additions and the documents aren’t finished. But I can still just explain their deeper lore if you wanna know)

Firstly, the worldbuilding of O.M.E.N:

O.M.E.N, or “THE OFFICE OF METAPHYSICAL EVALUATION AND NEUTRALIZATION,” is basically an “SCP foundation,” focused around containing, studying, and concealing supernatural phenomena.

The world of O.M.E.N is set in a modern urban fantasy world meant to mirror our own, except all the mythology and folklore from different cultures of our history are actually all real, just hidden behind the “Veil,”- a global campaign of secrecy maintained by the governments of the world, O.M.E.N, and similar powerful groups.

This is ONLY the vampire stuff. I have like 30+ document detailing everything in this world:

- Werewolves

- Wizards/Witches/Sorcerers

- Ghosts

- Cain/Abel

- Goblins/Ogres/Dragons

- Daemons (angels, demons, jinn, furies, etc.)

- Fairies (pixies, sprites, brownies, sylths, changelings, and nymphs)

- The Count of Saint Germain

- Gods

- Mermaids

- Sasquatches

- Excalibur

- The Philosopher’s Stone(s)

- And much, MUCH more.

------

Really, i do understand the general consensus on AI art.

This is primarily a writing project, but I kinda had to use art to get literally anyone to even consider giving it the time of day.

If you wanna get into my headspace a bit, go search up O.M.E.N on this forum.

You'll see that I posted only the documents a few days ago, before I ever had pictures made.

All I got was 1 snarky comment basically saying "Too long, didn't read" and 1 upvote. This is months of work and, entirely in my opinion, ~kinda~ interesting worldbuilding and characters.

I'd like it to be interesting to engage with, and writing just ain't a method of achieving that anymore.
