Am blind or did I accidentally merge 3? (Berry bushes)

I try to never merge three but it's possible I did by accident.

I need the next level berry bush and I have 4 I can merge but was obviously hoping to avoid doing less than five, however if I've already mistakenly done three earlier, then I guess I have to merge three again to get to the next level bush?

S3 E2 - "Full Bars" what film is being referenced?

Re-watching for the umpteenth time and realised husband and I don't know what film is being referenced at King's head Island. It's obviously giving 80's vibes but we have no idea!

Another scam from Job Today "Flamin Promotions"

Another day, another scam.

I was actually advised by someone from the job centre to use Job Today, but it seems there's close to no vetting of the ads that go up.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true!

Did I completely waste my money?

I'm desperate for some energy. I am eating an anti-inflammatory/Mediterranean diet, drink lots of water, take vitamins D and iron, my bloods are all good. I get B12 shots every three months (following gastric sleeve surgery in 2022)

I have insomnia but it's not always severe, meaning I'm not chronically sleep deprived.

I want just a bit more energy so bad so I can function better in just existing.

Does anyone else get fed up with people claiming magnesium glycinate is some magical fix for insomnia?

I take magnesium glycinate, but it's to help with restless legs, even though I'm also on pregabalin for RLS. I am not discrediting that magnesium glycinate can be helpful for some, and good for muscles etc, but man.. If I had a pound for every time I see people make comments online about it being a fix for insomnia or ads for it..

I'm guessing it's one of those things where for people who don't have severe sleeping problems it may help but it really isn't some type of miracle drug

I've had the craziest day with a complete stranger

I am not writing this to fish for any type of compliments, I just want to share what a curve ball life throws sometimes.

I was in an area of North London just went on the bus there to get 2 things and post something.

As I come out of a shop, someone is rushing across the street and I see a lady lying on her front face done on the pavement, I rush over with two others. They get her to a seated position, her mouth is bleeding, the top layer of her skin on her arm has more or less come off. She's a slightly older lady. EDIT - she tripped on the uneven pavement

She wants to get up but I say we need to keep her seated as she's taken a bad fall and we don't want her passing out.

Someone calls 999 for an ambulance. A shop brings out a chair and two workers from a gym nearby come out with a first aid kit.

As I've worked in care a lot I helped get her seated on the chair once her dizziness calmed down.

I overheard the guy on the phone to 999, and I say, if it's gonna take ages, I'll take her to A&E in an uber.

This 76 year old lady was such a champ, she fell *hard* and had chipped one tooth and the other front tooth was bent back into her mouth and she had a flap of skin in her lip hanging off a bit.

After I start going on uber I start feeling dizzy, realising it's likely because of the blood so I'm squatting, drinking some water. I kind of mumbled "I'm starting to feel a bit faint"

Next thing I'm in this wonderful deep nap, and I'm feeling so comfortable, but I'm being woken up to 4 strange faces looking at me. I ask what on earth happened. I had apparently stood up and gone straight down, but one of the workers from the gym broke my fall so I never hit my head.

I have passed out maybe twice before in my life but never like this. It took several seconds for me to come to and once alert I still didn't get my vision back properly for 2-3 minutes. Someone gave me a chocolate digestive that I didn't want to eat cos I haven't had sugar for 6 weeks but I'm not an idiot so I ate it and it really helped.

The uber had arrived so now both of us have to be led to the car loooool.

We went to A&E, she got facial scans, her arm wrapped etc. her fall happened 11.40am.

At the hospital she kept saying I could leave but she had no family or friends that could be called so I couldn't leave her. It's now 11.06pm, we are at a second hospital because she has to be seen by the maxillofacial team.

We should hopefully be out in about an hour, I will get an uber and get her into her home and then I can take an uber home from there.

I've only had a chocolate digestive since breakfast, a cup of tea at the first hospital. I'm starting to feel the fatigue properly now.

This lady is so metal, she doesn't complain, and she's incredibly grateful I have stayed with her, she keeps saying that I can go, but honestly, how can you even think of abandoning someone at the hospital who has no one to come be with her or make sure she gets home okay?

She has cried at the kindness of staff at the hospitals and funnily, at the second A&E a young man says he recognised us from the first hospital, he had been bashed across the head by someone who ran off after helping a drunk/drugged woman on the street. No good deeds go unpunished? He was so lovely.

I'm gonna get a gift card or something and find that guy from the gym for being so nice and breaking my fall.

It was not on my bingo card to spend 12 hrs with a complete stranger today

Update - it's 1.24am and I just got home. I'm chilling tomorrow

Beware of "Blue Recruits" - current job ad likely a scam

If you use the Job Today app, it's good to know the app doesn't do much vetting. I looked into the "company" and it's either a scam or they have only just opened a brand spankin new office, however info on the address does not reflect this

Malaysia Boleh - Farringdon review

I'm gonna start off by saying I'm not a good food reviewer because I'm very picky with food, but there were 5 of us, and one is from Borneo and his daughter spends a lot of time in Malaysia and other Asian countries.

Dishes we had:

Curry puffs (homemade)

Canai chicken curry

Canai beef rendang

Hainanese chicken

Curry laksa

Char kuey teow

Fragrant chicken rice

All sauces and bases are made in-house! This is one of the reasons I chose to go here.

Canai is a type of roti, they were perfect, flaky, fresh.

The curries are small, they come in a small bowl so for big eaters it might be a bit disappointing

The rendang was wonderful, deep flavours, thick and lovely. The others really enjoyed it also albeit not the best they've had

The chicken curry was rich in flavour but could be a bit forgettable amongst other deep flavours, I ended up just wishing I had gotten the beef rendang also because I love rendang

I was so stuffed I didn't try the hainanese chicken but the others said it was very well cooked, silky and fresh. Again they have had better but the standard was very good.

Char kuey teow was very good, it was definitely the favourite for two of the five who were there, the prawns were cooked really well, the noodles were lovely

The fragrant chicken rice was good, but my friend said it lacked flavour, my husband felt the same.

The laksa - for laksa lovers this will be important, the family we went with who love laksa said it was good, but it was missing something and all three said Laksamania do better. They also make a lot of laksa at home so they have high standards. They still enjoyed it and I thought it was really good, nice but if heat without being overpowering.

Service was very good, it's not a large space so the staff did very well working around, they were friendly and attentive without getting in your face.

In a nutshell - would definitely come back, especially for the rendang and curry puffs, there are other items I want to explore!

They also do traditional desserts but we were too full.

The curry portions are small.

The prices are typical London prices I would say.

The toilets were clean and fresh, no London basement sewage smell

I chose this place because I follow a guy on YouTube who goes to review Asian restaurants that often don't have a large social media presence.

For those with mild PMDD

I'm finally taking the time to make a post about this, for those who may need to hear it.

I am diagnosed through a private GP with PMDD, my mother got diagnosed in the 90's.

I realised that the more I read everyone's posts on this sub, the more I started wondering if I was misdiagnosed. Perhaps it was partially my CPTSD that mirrored a lot of the PMDD symptoms.

I got to the point where I was thinking it wasn't possible for me to have PMDD because I just don't get it as severe as many here.

I don't try to medicate for it, I'm in the UK so some of the meds being spoken about are either not available here or are under different names, but I honestly am not even seeking out medication because I can't cope with all the possible side effects. (I was prescribed progesterone cream to take 10 days each month but it did nothing and was expensive)

This is mainly because I've had a really hard time finding a SSRI for my depression/anxiety and have been on lots of bad medications through the years for my chronic pain.

So I kept thinking "maybe I'm mistaken and I don't have PMDD because everyone seems to have it much worse than me"

I spoke to my therapist about it, she's had several PMDD patients, one who had a hysterectomy because of how bad her symptoms were. (It was purely anecdotal, absolutely no personal info given by my therapist) She had to remind me not to compare myself to minimize my own suffering.

I still have days when I think I'm just such a messed up human being who blames an illness I don't have. But the fact is I've been properly diagnosed.

But what I want to say is, if you are like me, and you think to yourself that perhaps you don't have PMDD, or you avoid making posts on this sub, please remember that PMDD is definitely not one-size-fits-all.

Like many other illnesses, it will manifest differently for everyone.

I'm lucky to have milder symptoms, but also, I have a great therapist and the best husband in the world, so my support system is likely making a big difference.

However you suffer, it's valid.

Love to you all

Smelly laundry- no one has been able to figure out why

Our machine is just over 2 years old, we bought it brand new. I have had an engineer out who explained that the outlet pipe was too long and it was sort of hanging down so water sat it in the pipe and got stagnant.

I got a new, short pipe and made sure to attach it so no water sits in the pipe to get stagnant.

I use the monthly washer machine cleaning sachets, I have checked the trap multiple times.

I leave the door and drawer open after every wash and there is no mold on the rubber seal.

Every time I do my laundry it comes out smelling a bit bad. Not like mildew, but another funky smell.

I use soda crystals with each wash as we're in North London which has extremely hard water.

I don't use any sheets or stuff inside the drum (front facing)

I rarely use fabric conditioner, I use vinegar when washing bed linen and towels.

Smol was the detergent we were using, I swapped to Ecover as it tended to leave the laundry smelling slightly fresher but that doesn't seem to do anything anymore.

I'm at a loss and I hate this, I have an unusually sensitive sense of smell.

Can anyone think of anything I can do to fix this?

Edit to add- the vinegar is used in rinse cycle

West Cork (Spoilers!)

I have just finished listening and have thoughts I'd like to discuss.

SPOILERS BELOW

Rarely have I come across such an openly arrogant narcissist as Ian Bailey.

Do I think he killed Sophie? No, not necessarily, there's just too much of a lack of motive.

But my goodness he makes himself look guilty. His memory is incredibly selective, which I usually would say is not surprising of an alcoholic, and make no mistake, I absolutely think he's an alcoholic.

I feel incredibly sad for Jules. I believe she has had a history of abusive romantic partners, which she said herself and therefore doesn't see that she shouldn't have to put up with Ian's abuse. The way they both talk about it as just a blip in the many years together is evidence of his manipulation.

I can see why people in West Cork can't stand him and wonder why he just didn't leave. I honestly think it's part of his narcissism.

Do you think Ian killed Sophie? If not, who do you think might have?

[37/F] Originally from Sweden but have lived all my adult life in the UK. Looking for female penpal

Married with two cats.

My hobbies are singing (glorified karaoke singer), sewing (although I'm bad at it and will rage quite, close to tears.. I have actually cried), binge watching series, complaining, drinking tea.

My penmanship is terrible and I couldn't draw if my life depended on it. So a prospective penpal is not to expect cute drawings and beautifully written letters.

I do like post cards though so will likely include funny/cute ones as I come across them.

I hate politics.

Let me know if I sound like someone you'd like to hear from.

Important to note, as my husband once joked "you're not short and sweet, you're long and bitter" i.e I don't do short, succinct letters

AITH for cutting off my entire family after finding out they knew what my husband was doing to me for 6 years and said nothing?

I (29F) was married to Marcus (34M) for six years, and for six years I thought I was losing my mind, I forgot things I never forgot, I'd find texts on my phone I never sent, money would go missing from accounts I had sole access to, and every single time I brought it up Marcus would sit me down, call my mom, and the three of them would calmly explain to me that I was "spiraling again" and needed to see my therapist more often, and I believed them, I genuinely believed I was mentally ill because the three most important people in my life kept confirming it, it wasn't until a coworker, completely by accident, mentioned she'd seen Marcus with another woman at a restaurant using a credit card in MY name, that I hired a PI, and what came back destroyed me not because of Marcus, but because buried in the evidence was a group chat between him, my mom, my older sister Dana, and my aunt Carol going back FOUR YEARS where they actively coached him on how to gaslight me, reminded him which details to change so I'd doubt myself, celebrated when I "believed it again," and my mom literally sent a voice note laughing saying "Alexa's always been too emotional, this is easy" I am confronted all of them, my mom cried and said she did it because she thought Marcus was "good for me financially" and didn't want me to leave him, Dana said I was "being dramatic," and my aunt said nothing, just blocked me, and now the whole extended family is calling ME the asshole for "destroying the family" over something that "wasn't that serious," and I have cut every single one of them off completely, changed my number, filed for divorce, and I genuinely don't feel guilty, so AITH?

Just out of sheer curiosity, it's obviously something that happens in medical shows but makes me think it likely happens in real life also.

AITAH for disagreeing with my husbands mum?

My mother in law has decided she wants to sit in on my therapy sessions. i started going about a year ago for some stuff im working through none of which is anyone elses business and somehow shes got it into her head that as "family" she should be allowed in the room to "understand me better."

shes never warmed to me she thinks therapy is self indulgent nonsense and that i overshare and ive zero interest in unpacking my private life with the one person whod use every word of it against me. i go to that room specifically to talk about things i dont say in front of people like her.

my husband is her baby boy but hes genuinely a good one hes stood up to her loads of times over our wedding, over her trying to get us to move to his hometown where my career would have died. but lately shes been crying to him that she just wants to feel close to me and that im shutting the family out and hes slowly starting to bend.

so i told him the only way id even consider it was if he first arranged for my dad to sit in on his next prostate exam. he said i was being ridiculous, and i said funny how none of my brothers would let my dad in the room for that either, must be left out. he went quiet then admitted he got the point.

his mum is angry that i used such a "stupid comparison" and insists its not the same thing. i offered to swap it for me sitting in on her next smear test instead and i havent heard from her in a week. AITA?
