Katseye fans are getting really irritating

I’ve been going online recently, and as an eyekon, lots of my feed is katseye-related media. but ever since Manon’s hiatus, most of the fandom has been freaking out like crazy. Honestly, I agree it was sudden and it’s disappointing, but I understand because being an idol isn’t easy. But the nerve of some eyekons? Because recently, all the posts are about how HYBE is probably kicking her out or doing this for clout and they’ve just been waffling on about it for the longest time. That being said, it’s starting to become annoying because I saw multiple posts promoting hate or boycotting her just because she’s working on her solo career instead of going back to the group, or criticising HYBE because of the whole situation. First, it’s not HYBE’s fault. It was Geffen that put Manon on hiatus, and HYBE wasn’t really in charge of that decision anyway. Also, why are we attacking the individual just because they want to take a break? We’re all human and so is Manon, so why is it when she tries to take a break she gets a whole hate train for it? And while I do feel like it would be nice for her to come back, some eyekons are trying to push the decision onto her? and that’s just wrong because like I said she’s also human, and as long she had a say/is happy with the choice then there’s nothing wrong with whatever she picks. But those eyekons that are getting mad with her decision are just straight up immature and are literally js annoying atp.

FanFic Writing Tip Of The Day!

ok this is probably super repetitive, but I cannot help but bring this up. Ships! It’s perfectly fine if you ship your oc with anyone, or write about a ship in your fanfic. but please, please please keep in mind that realism still applies! just like in art, how a character will not suddenly have heterochromia, characters in writing should never drastically change overnight! when you ship your oc with anyone, you must must must always remember to retain the core traits of your oc and their love interest. if they were originally a cold and aloof character, they will not suddenly become soft and lively overnight just because they fell in love! take Giyuu for example (not because i love him ahahahahahah), should he be in love with someone, he would express it in acts of service or quality time. he would not be the type to initiate too much physical touch or exaggerate compliments. the best way to make sure you don’t go overboard with a character in love is to be certain what their love language and core personality is, so you don’t end up with a lovesick fool. hope this helps!

When you publish a fanfic, consider making a playlist for your fanfic! it can be what you listen to when you write, or songs that you think reflect your writing style/aesthetic/character traits! this not only helps with reader engagement and makes people believe you’re dedicated to your fic, but also helps create a specific mood that you want the reader to feel in specific scenes or while reading!

My fic’s playlist (as an example): https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5ALIgFQcdiYRFetVXv7nwp?si=PkcFlSQOTD6KZtlSARKtag&pi=KBVCdCKzTnuc0

so i just got banned from r/KimetsuNoYaiba, and honestly, wtf? I crossposted a post from a sub that I’m moderating, ( r/KimetsuNoYaibaFics btw) about writing OC insert stories and tips on how to do that, and then I got banned. Because apparently that’s a low effort post (what even is a low effort post anyway?!) and I’m spamming self promo. I also posted that same post here and it was completely fine btw. I did similar crossposts before and they were also left alone and fine in r/KimetsuNoYaiba. I only crosspost because I’m lazy to redo the whole post over again, and tbh that’s kinda what the crosspost button is for. My intention was never self-promo, it was just to share tips? also I was banned after that singular post was removed. none of my posts before had been removed as a warning or anything like that. there were also NO RULES on crossposting???? are the mods just on a power trip or what, because this is literally the least reasonable thing I’ve ever experienced.

Writing tips for OC fanfics

So, as a very seasoned fanfic writer myself, I‘ve had a look at multiple if not many KnY fics, and here are some of the do’s and don’t’s that I found and compiled a list of for KnY OC insert fics!

Do’s:

- make your character have actual layers. they can’t just be ooh cool aloof character. they need to have meaning.

- why is your character the way they are? make sure to smooth out any plot holes or unaccounted-for lore to make sure your character actually makes sense and doesn’t become a different person every chapter

- give your character actual character development. something about them has to change drastically by the end of your story. or else there is no story.

- make sure there are places where your character actually struggles. otherwise they’ll be cringe and ’emily kocho’

- make your character realistic. they must have motives for everything they do. they cannot just be edgy because they can.

- it’s better to make your character completely unrelated or not blood-related to any canon characters. it makes them difficult to write and seem unoriginal.

Don’t’s

- absolutely do not make your character extremely strong for no reason. it’s cringe and just bad writing

- do not start with your character already a hashira unless you are certain it will work out well/there’s clear character development. people enjoy reading rags-to-riches story and overall it’s simpler if you just start from the very beginning when your character becomes a demon slayer, etc.

- do not/avoid making more than one canon character a highly implied love interest for your character.

- avoid muichiro ships unless your character is around the same age

- do not make your character a copy-paste of a canon character in a different font

- do not make your story overly romance-based/romantic unless you’re writing a ship fic

- do not even attempt to make your character some weird demon-human hybrid. it is canonically impossible and makes your story seem cringe.

did i miss anything? anyway hope this helps!
