Planning a trip to Thailand in a couple months. Was thinking about renting a small cc bike or something. Wondering how easily they accept a Japanese drivers license with full motorcycle permissions.
I grew up in Naples, specifically out in what I guess are called the ‘Rural Estates’ now, so long ago I remember watching Valencia Golf course being built. Feeling nostalgic, and remembered the ‘Panther Crossing’ signs. Saw that the zoo now sells little stickers.
Now I live in Japan, and would be grateful if anyone wanted to send me a couple stickers and maybe any Naples/Bonita/Fort Myers specific stuff. I’d happily return the favor with a box of goodies from Japan. (Second picture is a previous snack exchange I did with someone in Fort Myers).
Can provide proof that I’m a native ‘flogrown’ ( 🤢 as much as I hate that term and the cringy decals) and now live in Japan if anyone is sketched out about it.
PS: if someone wants to send an actual full sized sign that would be dope as hell too.
So, I finally caught someone. Not sure if it’s the main perpetrator.
For a few months we’ve been having issues with someone leaving large bags of garbage in one corner of our apartment parking area. It’s not just garbage, but it is used cat paraphernalia. Pads soaked with cat urine. Bags of food. Used litter filled with cat shit. It smells awful, and other animals get to it and rip the bag open, and spread it all over the parking area.
It seems the person purposely does this, because the bags are clear, and not official city garbage bags. If they’re put out with the regular pickup they will be ignored.
We’ve contacted apartment management but they’re very blasé about it. Our apartment is pretty cheap, and they do the bare minimum to prevent tenants from complaining too much. They let trash accumulate all over, and even getting them to get a crew out to cut the grass and weeds was a chore.
So I finally had enough and set up a hidden cam to catch the person doing it. And lo and behold, this morning there were 2 new bags. I quickly checked my camera and saw the pictures and videos of this guy dropping bags at 2am.
The only downside, is that these new ones are official city bags, and trash pickup is tomorrow. So I’m hesitant to jump on this guy as the culprit. Maybe he just had a few extra bags, and is leaving them there today and moving them to the correct pickup area tomorrow? I’m not sure.
I think I recognize the guy, but at night in the dark it’s hard to tell for sure.
My wife and I aren’t sure what to do. She’s calling the apartment mgmt again today to complain. She will send them the pictures of the person doing it.
But if this guy is just putting garbage where he thinks it should go until official pickup, and isn’t responsible for the cat shit, then I want to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I’ve also had the thought that it was the person in the house on the other side of the wall, opening their back door, and just tossing it out. Not their parking area not their problem. But I’m not sure.
Doing it at 2am is shady as hell though.
I want to print out pictures and stick them up in the elevator to shame this guy, but my wife says we shouldn’t start drama.
What do you guys think? What’s the best course of action?

Dream casting would be for the huge A-list celebs that people keep picking, that are completely unrealistic and will never happen. Some of these people would cost so much money that it’s never gonna happen, and fits more of a ‘I think this person would be great for the role.’ Like Betty White and Ralph Fiennes.
Realistic/Grounded would be for casting choices that are conceivably possible, budget and notoriety, etc.
And meme casting for the joke “All Jeffs cast” and “All Carls cast” and “Loita as a pile of garbage” casting.
Basically what the title says. I want to hand paint a design on my off-roader. Paint job doesn’t matter. Mainly to help mitigate any rust, and I also want to paint something fun on it.
But I don’t want it washing off after the first rain or after going through some dirt.
Was thinking of using tape to lay out the stencil lines, then when it’s finished hit the whole thing with a clear coat rattle can.
Any advice? Doesn’t have to be amazing professional level quality, it will get dirty and scratched and dinged.

Just getting lunch and asking a final opinion before I go back to the shop and scoop this up.
After looking around it seems like a good deal. Interior is super clean. Hardly any rust. I’m a little familiar with older 90s Jimnys but not 2010s ones.
I’m sure half of you will tell me it’s awful and terrible and I’m making a huge mistake and should get x year/model instead.
Comes with a 2 year warranty from the shop, they’ll do everything free of charge, new turbo, new engine, etc should it need it.
I see that the JB23 also has a K6A. Is this the same engine as the 90s Jimnies or an updated version?
Just getting a mini truck as a daily. Go camping, windsurfing, haul stuff around for friends. Don’t really need it, just a useful thing to have. Wife says she hates it cause I’ll look like an おじいちゃん driving around 😂.
Both are super clean and rust free. Daihatsu is 10 years older with 25k more km. I can tell the last owner cared about it though. Has a faux carbon dash and little accent pieces inside. Engine is also way easier to get to.
Suzuki is super nice. A 2020 will be the newest vehicle I’ve ever owned. Interior is a little cramped but the 4WD is manual shift which I like, plus a diff lock which I’d rather have and not need.
車検 is included on both so the price on the sticker is the final price.
I’m leaning towards the Suzuki because my wife wants me to stop buying old vehicles that break down and keep needing parts 😅

So I’ve been having this overheating issue with a 1996 Suzuki Jimny. Keeps overheating, and no flow across the radiator (cool to touch).
Water pump has flow. Removed hoses and checked.
Belts are good.
Flushed engine and radiator, no obstructions.
New thermostat.
Bled and burped multiple times, no air in the system.
Even got a new radiator cap (correct kPa).
After a flush and check, everything seems to work fine and doesn’t overheat.
Leave it for a day or so, and next drive it starts to overheat. No leaks or anything underneath in the morning
Oil is good, no head gasket issues. Not burning coolant.
Just stumped and getting frustrated.
I’ve heard these years have bad engines that take a dump at 150k, but everything looks sound to me.
