Do I need a bigger car for a corso?

I want a cane corso within the next year or two but I currently drive a Honda Civic Hatchback. Do I need to upgrade to a bigger car so I can fit a crate in the back, or do you all think it’s okay to put them in the backseat with a rigid seat cover and crash-tested harness?

Athleticism/endurance of your BMs

Hi BM people, I’m considering our next dog and am between a cane corso and bullmastiff. I like that BMs are a bit more outgoing and would be easier to integrate into a home with kids.

I am however concerned about their endurance (or lack thereof). I prefer a dog on the medium to low energy side, but I also really want a dog that I can bring everywhere and I like to go on long walks (like a few miles, nothing too crazy). I know it varies by breeder/genetics but I was hoping to get a sense of the energy/endurance levels of your BMs!

My hole ain’t been loose

Yall this is so niche but Oscar has said twice now that Zara’s lyric in Stateside is “my hole ain’t been loose for a minute”, is that the lyric bc I hear “my schedule” and that’s what’s on genius 😭

Our mastiff/pit mix Tito passed away from cancer recently (see pic of my sweet baby with his custom blanket). He was our only pet and I hate how empty our home feels without him.

While he was the sweetest and cuddliest angel inside, he wasn’t an easy dog in general - he was ~90 lbs and had pretty intense excitement-based reactivity to basically anything that moved, and could be quite nervous around strangers. I loved him so deeply, but I definitely want my next dog to be easier. My wishlist is:

- pitty mix (shouldn’t be hard to find lol)
- not too big, ideally like 30-60 lb
- minimal reactivity
- friendly enough with dogs - while I’m not ready for a puppy now, I may want one within the next few years, so I would want a dog that would be okay with that. Doesn’t have to love the dog park or daycare.
- friendly enough with strangers that I can board him/her for a few weeks a year so I can still go on vacations. Tito’s reactivity and nervousness with strangers made it really difficult for us to find someone that we trusted to care for him while we traveled.
- ideally 3-4+ years old so that they’ve mellowed out a bit. I’m ok with a senior.

Just hoping to poll people who are more knowledgeable in the rescue space and get an idea of whether I’m asking for too much from a shelter pup! I’m definitely in no rush and will wait to find the perfect one. I’m located in a city in North Carolina so there’s definitely no shortage of dogs in shelters.
