I just wanted to say a final few things about the game, as this is the last time I/we will be visiting Eora for what seems like a long, long time. Little history, I bought the game the DAY it came out, since I was a huge Pillars of Eternity fan and veteran, so I was super excited to literally get anything from this universe. Anyway, when I first played the game, I thought it was great, the best game I have played in a year. Remember, I played through the game when it first came out so none of the extras were in it at the time.

Now, on my second playthrough, I am finding the game to be simply AMAZING. 10/10

Love the way the game looks, love the characters. Love the music and setting. Especially love the game mechanics, even though some say the game is a bit easy. Just coming from Pillars of Eternity and seeing some of my favorite spells up close and personal, I am very fond of.

This being said, I am deeply saddened and concerned about these official unofficial rumors I suppose? Avowed 2 has been SACKED and paving the way for YET ANOTHER Fallout that nobody asked for? Don't get me wrong. I've played Fallout. I loved Fallout 1, 2, and 3. Never finished New Vegas, because I was starting to get sick of Fallout ten years ago! Of course, I know many people claim New Vegas is the best one, because Obsidian. And I promise to finish the game some day. But what the hell? Must we suffer thru another bland, ugly wasteland adventure? There is so much promise with Avowed. I hear tell of a "skeleton crew" working on Avowed. Should we put any stock in rumors, I mean none of these have been official announcements, correct? Should we maybe keep a hope for a possible Pillars 3? More information will be revealed soon....

I am aware many of you love Fallout and I will probably get downvoted to hell, but I had to say it.

My what will be, 2nd official and probably the last Envoy I play in a long time. Sad to hear the news. Sick of Fallout.

What I THINK to be an interesting crafting system

Well enough writing compared to some other games. It hasn't bothered me yet.

The game had a total 130k budget, its own homebrewed engine built on Unity, and its amazing when you go into the game realizing how much money the game actually cost to make. The graphics are similar to Pillars of Eternity 1.

You must go into this game with an open mind, and knowing the fact that they only had 130k!

The game did well enough for them to kickstart a new game. I'm not exactly sure when it comes out, but I'm looking forward to it. I know they met double their kickstarter goal?

Anyway, very little known game and also that RTWP is unpopular right now, this studio has the balls to crank out all RTWP games. Hate RTWP if you wish, just please don't go villainizing it. And this is not intended to be a Turn Based vs RTWP discussion, since I play games with both. I like both equally and you can't change my mind.

I love ice cream sandwiches, and I could eat a whole box if someone didn't stop me.

Anyway Kemps never fails to impress, the undusputed KING of ice cream sandwiches in my area. I got two of these 12 pack boxes for 7.00 USD. They have gone away very quickly.

I made a post here a few months ago about me starting down the long road of the gold box games. This is the first time truly I have ever been serious about these original DnD 1e turn based games. And there's a LONG line of them. 9 games! This was 9 games which I'm getting about 50 hours a piece out of so far. So its a ton of material to cover.

And crap, I am lucky I did. This is finally some extremely challenging turn based combat. I get that turn based is popular and all, but I wish some games should take a page from Gold Box book. Not as extreme for sure, people wouldn't be able to handle it. Attached is me literally getting slaughtered by dragons, this is not a boss battle.

I had to cheat in the second game it was such difficult 1e - nearly impossible by today's standards. Extremely more difficult than anything else I've played in my life. And I've been gaming a long time,

If you can get past the graphics, and oodles of antiquated mechanics, which I assume most of you can, give the Gold Box games a chance. Some of the original CRPGs if you want to see where it all started. Anyway, the games have actually inspired me a little, and I just wanted to talk about them a bit.

They're supposed to simulate blackberries, raspberries. They have a crunchy outside and like a gel inside. Poor flavor if not a bold texture. Notice how I still ate half the bag!

Wow, what an intro! That's all I've got. That must have been seen as incredibly cutting edge at the time.

Little background on me, I've played many CRPGs, including but not limited to, all the Infinity Games, Kingmaker, WOTR, Pillars 1 and 2, Tyranny. For some strange reason, I've never played Neverwinter (never neverwinter) even though I knew it was there the whole time, it was even in my library, and that it was RTWP, which I love.

Currently also playing through the Goldbox games.

Just hoping I'm in for a wild ride. Retro graphics do not bother me as I play games for their mechanics mainly.

I am seriously thinking of giving it another go, this time properly. I beat it on a fluke years ago. Can't believe I didn't back track or ever try to play the game properly. I was young and drunk often. I remember printing out all the manuals, this was probably back around the year 2000 or so.

Just curious as to what some of you think of it and it's sequel. I always like the paper dolls, and the magic system, even though so many spells fail so often, I can't remember how to stop that.

What is the best way to play this game currently as well?

I tried these as a child, but haven't truly appreciated them until now. The flavor, the texture, the way it runs down your throat, the length of time they last. Pretty soon I'll be done with an entire bag.

For those having trouble seeing the writing these are Bit-O-Honey, a candy that was created in 1924. Originally in bar form, more recent years have seen these it the bite sized single serving like I am holding in my hand.

Building Better Worlds

Please note, this is my OLD machine, it has been sitting for nearly 2 years. Anyway, when I went to fire it up it wasn't booting. I come to find the entire cooling appartus, along WITH the CPU, had disconnected from the machine. I did not drop this machine, or kick it. Now to make matters worse, thermal paste has gotten on some of the pins. I am no expert by any means, this is a prebuilt machine. Only thing I can think of, is I replaced the AIO at a local repair shop. I only used it for a couple of days or so after, and my new machine arrived. It has been sitting ever since.

Anyway when it happened, I made a bad situation worse by being drunk and handling the CPU, removing it from the AOI, I'm the one that got the paste on the pins.

Any ideas on how to proceed? The computer was starting to run a little oddly at the end, with microfreezes before I replaced the AIO, and I never diagnosed what was causing it. One of the reasons I got a new machine with a small inheritance I received.

I can use quite a bit of help. I'm currently going back and forth between reading the manual and playing. I wanted to build a more magic centered character, but I'm not even sure how to do that. Instead I tried to build more of a fighter character, I know, kind of boring. I have the Hero Father background. Anyway, any tips or things you wish you knew would help. Thanks.

My deck building skills are just atrocious. I think part of my problem was I didn't play MTG Arena or any MTG at all for at least a year and a half. When I came back, most of my cards I'd been using in my decks were rotated out. Anyway, I've been against myself netdecking, but I finally caved and made a modified deck of this https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/standard-izzet-spellementals-woe#paper

It feels good to win a lot. But I feel like I broke my own rule. I've always thought deck creation was half the fun of MTG. While I was able to get up to Mythic in the past with decks of my own creation, I'd been struggling here in recent months trying to climb through Platinum. Anyway I have and will always love the mechanics of MTG (started collecting and playing in the 90s, but took a 20 year hiatus).

Blast from the past. Today I installed Pool of Radiance, the very first OFFICIAL DnD computer game based closely on the rules. Curious to see how many here actually played all the Goldbox games, the long line of turn-based DnD games all based on this engine. I think the graphics were good for the time, if you can get around that, it's just some classic turn based fun. I've got the strategy guide on PDF, I'm all set!

Core and above of course. Please note the Water Elemental, and Hosilla and the Quasits. I'm especially interested to hear about how people do this on Unfair. I reload if one of my characters dies, which doesn't happen often, but it does on a good crit. Dangerous monsters other than those bosses are also the Brutes and the Champions. I always end up saving most of the consumables for the Hosilla fight, which I rarely reload on, but I surely did on my first attempt.
