This goes out to the 5 or so protestors who disrupted the last band at Orton Park Fest and the kid's Cycropia Aerial Dance show...

You somehow were able to turn an entire crowd of hundreds of left leaning neighbors against your objectives. For what? You made no point. Your only stated goal you were screaming at the kids and parents was that someone, somewhere should arrest the cop even though it goes against state law and all legal regulation of police use of force. You literally called for undemocratic extra-judicial actions that was recorded and will be used against liberal candidates throughout the state.

You actually hurt your cause and turned potential allies against your cause all while pissing off parents and neighbors in one of the most liberal voting districts in the entire country. Do you think they're going to forget you screaming at their kids and at the aerial dancers through a megaphone when it comes time to vote for mayor next year? I know I'll only be voting for whichever candidate says they'll get rid of the independent police monitor after watching your antics.

You screamed for a moment of silence and when the announcer held an impromptu moment of silence you proceeded to yell through the megaphone throughout the moment of silence. The contempt from the crowd was palpable.

Just childish stupidity and attention seeking behavior.

3 things you probably need to know about Crowley...

  1. His first job in politics was organizing and delivering the Milwaukee vote for Progressive Lion Russ Feingold in 2010. He specifically worked getting Feingold's message and policies out in Milwaukee and getting the black vote out for Feingold in inner city Milwaukee.

  2. He was the Vice-Chair of the Milwaukee ACLU and was later one of their lead plantifs fighting Milwaukee's stop and frisk policy. Even though he is not a lawyer, and just finished his BA a few years ago, he has deep connections to the ACLU and it's defense of our basic rights.

  3. David Crowley was the first black county executive in the history of Milwaukee at the age of 34. It's hard to imagine that we didn't have that first awhile ago but it says a lot about Milwaukee (and the WOW counties surrounding Milwaukee in the primary) that the county has supported him twice for executive with a long history of animosity between the city and the surrounding areas.

All of these speak to his long history as a fighter for the Progressives in Milwaukee. Nobody should be attacking him for not being left enough because he calls himself a 'Pragmatic Progressive'.

David Crowley, who just won the Democratic primary in Wisconsin is a huge Lego collector. He is well known in Milwaukee Lego circles and lists it as one of his hobbies in his official campaign biography.

IT'S JUST A TEST

1st Wednesday monthly tornado siren test.

For any tourists or conventioneers in from out of town that is just our monthly tornado siren test.

Biggest convention in town right now is the American Meteorological Society convention up at Monona Terrace. How weird is that.

Protestors have taken the neighborhood recycling bins and made a physical barrier blocking the surrounding blocks. Road closed indefinitely on the Near East Side.

You can pull into the Willy Coop but not St. Vinnies. C route is detoured off Willy st for anyone needing the bus at Baldwin. It's going back into Spaight, Jennifer and Rodgers past the school. Heavy traffic is detouring down Jennifer and Wilson and is really backed up trying to get through the neighborhood streets. I'm sure that's fun for the neighbors.

.

They've taken maybe a hundred of the recycling bins that were put out for pickup last night and made physical barriers around the intersection so if your trash and recycling bins are missing they're being used for this down the street.

.

They've spray painted and chalked up the street and businesses around the intersection. The funniest one is "Release the footage" is chalked out everywhere which apparently means the protestors don't understand that Freedom Inc, the mayor and the left side of the city council all blocked the police getting body cameras.

Edit: The protestors are not letting anyone into St. Vinnies.. It looks like St. Vinnies, the Crystal and all the immediate stores surrounding are closed indefinitely from what I can tell. Lazy Janes, True Value, the Willy st Coop and the jazz bar are all open.

Edit 2: Take East Washing to First. There's a drunk homeless guy screaming at, kicking and damaging cars at Few and Willy in front of the Social Justice Center as they try and navigate into the neighborhood.
