Birthday selfies!

I took these photos first thing in the a.m., before my first cup o' joe, hence the bleary mopey face I'm making.

I just watched "Invasion of Time" for the first time in a long while, and y'know what?

It actually would have made a whole lot more sense if Leela decided to stay on Gallifrey because she'd fallen in love with Rodan.

Of course, given the times that the story was broadcast, it was NOT gonna happen. But Leela and Rodan actually spend the bulk of the story together. They forge a genuine relationship and spend an unspecified amount of time outside the Time Lord citadel in the wild lands, perhaps the first significant amount of time Leela spends without the Doctor since they left her homeworld together. It's very plausible that Leela realized during this time that she could have a life away from her homeworld, AND away from the Doctor's aimless traveling.

They're an "opposites attract" couple, for sure. But they have a definite chemistry and rapport that Leela simply didn't have with Andred.

Well, it's just a thought I had. What do you think?

"What a splendid school this house would make!" [Meta-Joke by Charity Trask?]

I'm back to re-watching the series after several weeks' break. (I had been binging this show pretty heavily for a while and needed a break to watch something more current.)

And where I'm at in the show (episode 727), actresss Nancy Barrett has likewise returned after being MIA for more than a month of episodes. She sneers at Rachel, sweeps into the grand hallway and remarks "What a splendid school this house would make!"

Anybody know if this was a meta-joke? Seems like it could be since Seaview Terrace house (the RL mansion used for exterior shots) actually was being used as a school during the time the show was originally airing.

The incredible shrinking Wrangler patch

Happens to every pair of Wranglers I own, eventually. The leather logo patch on the back pocket shrinks and warps into a weird little strip. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
