I just got a Turbo Blaze, and while cooking some fish, the fire alarm went off. I didn’t see any smoke, and nothing was burning. Does this happen to others, or is there something wrong with my alarm? This is the third time I’ve used it, and I’ve cooked chicken in it with no issues, even at a higher temperature and for longer.
Like it is working great, but there is so much stuff on it. I don't want fire .
I hate the insult “Hotep.” The way people use it now, it feels like a racialized and gendered insult aimed specifically at Black men, that makes it a slur . And people just throw it around like it is nothing.
If you disagree with someone’s views, there should be enough words in the English language to explain what you actually disagree with without reaching for a term that, whatever its origins were, is now so often used specifically to insult Black men.
Also, the word originally meant “peace.” So here we have another word with positive intentions that has been bastardized into an insult aimed at Black people. This really can’t keep being a thing.

I was wondering if there is anything that can transcribe music while you play. For example, if I play a really good saxophone solo off the top of my head, it would be nice to have the notes I played automatically written out instead of having to go back and transcribe everything by hand.

"Woke" is a great word that reminds us to stay aware of the wrongs in the world, but bigots have twisted it to mean anything they dislike from Black cartoon characters existing to even the carpool lane. They’re experts at repeating something until it sticks, and I’ve seen this mindset creep into non-bigoted spaces too. We can’t let that happen. So when they label something that’s about recognizing bigotry as “woke,” own it and say, “Damn right it is. Glad you noticed.” When it is about something random is woke call them out.
Someone made a joke about Quicksilver in another post, and it got me thinking about this. Honestly, I couldn’t come up with many examples. Invisible Woman is stronger than Johnny. Magik is stronger than Colossus. Rogue is stronger than Nightcrawler. Hope is stronger than Cable. Maybe Bishop could take Shard, but she can literally turn into light… and what can really stop light?
I am thinking about getting one of those big blue or purple bug zappers that have been around forever, but I am not sure. I grill and smoke close to my garage, and even days after I finish, there are still flies in there.

I do not think pictures of lynchings are helpful anymore. We already know the brutality of it, and displaying those images can sometimes feel like it only serves people who enjoy seeing African Americans suffer. How does that help anything?
When Emmett Till’s casket was left open in the 1950s, there was a reason for it. The world was trying to hide what had been done to him, and his mother wanted people to see the truth.
But now, if you do not understand the brutality of lynching, you are almost going out of your way not to see it. We do not need to keep displaying Black suffering to prove that it happened.

I do not think I have ever seen Punk get a reaction this meh when he was not being a heel. And Sami’s rant, at the time of this posting, was sitting at 5K likes to 12 dislikes.
I hope they actually do something with this. I posted about this before, but the GM being so unfair to Sami does not make Sami feel like a heel. It makes him feel like someone who got screwed over.

Is there any real reason to cook your own whole chicken?
I was wondering if there is a way to cook a whole bird that produces noticeably better results than what you can get from the supermarket or Sam’s Club for around $5. I am not Emeril or anything like that, but I can cook pretty well.
Still, I have not found cooking a whole chicken to be worth the extra cost and time compared to what you get from the store. Sure, mine might taste a little better, but not enough to make it feel worth it.
Is that just my cooking? Is it the methods I have tried smoking, frying, baking, air frying or is that the general consensus?
I hate when heels get treated unfairly, and everyone acts like they’re automatically wrong just because they’re the heel. A good example is the Raw GM making Sami defend on Raw while Roman only had to wrestle a handful of times a year. And this isn’t even a rant about Roman it’s about fairness. When a heel says, “This is unfair,” people treat it like he’s just whining, but sometimes he’s actually right.
The gingerbread man thing was funny because it wasn’t for the top belt, so whatever that one I can let slide. And clearly it was meant to be funny. But with the WWE title situation, Sami genuinely had a point.
When he was the referee, he called everything straight. Cody shoved him for making the correct call. Gunther shoved him for making the correct call. And Nick didn’t really do anything about either situation.
Now Sami wins the title, and once again, he’s right. Jey is his boy. Sami never tried to take the belt off Jey when Jey was champion, but the first thing Jey does is come after him.
I know the joke is that Sami is “the last good guy,” but honestly, at this point, he kind of is.
I was thinking about the Crying Jordan meme, and honestly, there is something toxic and racialized about it that does not get talked about enough.
A Black man showed emotion after achieving something almost nobody on Earth will ever accomplish, and that image got turned into a joke for years. It was not just “Michael Jordan cried.” It became a whole internet language for failure, embarrassment, and humiliation.
That says something about how people react when Black men show emotion. Even positive emotion, pride, grief, or vulnerability can get twisted into something shameful. Black men are often expected to be strong, cool, angry, or emotionally controlled. The moment they show something outside of that, people mock it.
You see something similar with Kawhi Leonard laughing. This is a guy known for being quiet and almost emotionless in public. He laughs one awkward time, and people meme it forever. It is like Black men are not allowed to just be human without it becoming content.
Like starting season 7 had me excited, but this season is just blah, and the season store hasn't been good since season 6. I get last season's people graduating and stuff, but I don't even get the theme this time.
