Starting my collection, and recommendations? (VHS, DVDs, 4Ks, Box sets)

I am into anime, old and new, horror movies of any decade, action, fighting, and adventure. Really anything but these specifically. Looking for things that may make my collection stand out more. I am looking into getting a VHS of Ghost in the shell and Night of the living dead. I also am getting a VHS of jaws to go with my dvd.

Other things on my list are the original star wars trilogy. Original king kong. Akira on DVD as well as laserdisc. And criterion pan's labyrinth on Blu ray

Idk if this belongs here but I combined my physical and digital media to have the best of both. If my computer ever dies, I still have all my original dvds, Blu rays, and VHS tapes.

Thanks for the recommendations for my NFC Jellyfin Project

I wanted to thank some of you as many recommended me getting a 3d printed cover for my phone that I am using for my jelly fin project. Im am working on the guide now as well as the stickers for the NFC cards. But other than that, I have finished the project. Of course I will add more pops and such in the future as my media library grows.

Thanks for alll the recommendations. And if you have any suggestions on a way to evolve this feel free to let me know. I am open to all suggestions.

Made my small Town Bob's Burgers Funk Pop scannable to trigger the Bob's Burgers movie on my home media server

For context, I have been working with NFC tags recently and connecting them to my home media server. I am putting my nfc stickers on many of the Funko Pops and Figures I own, and when scanned by my old phone, it plays said show/movie on my android tv box. I devided to to this for my nephew who is young and cant use a remote too well. Thought this would be fun for him.

Well since I dont have any of his pops currently I have been testing it with mine and today I used my Bitty POP Towns Bob's Burgers Funko to play the movie.

The sound I used was Linda singing the name taken from the end of the family commercial song. If you have any other sound suggestions feel free to Imk. I will be switching what pop plays the movie when I actually get a full sized POP for the Show.

NFC Jellyfin Project questions?

Hello, if you have seen my recent posts on here you know I am working on an NFC project and connecting my jellyfin so i can trigger movies/shows using NFC cards and stickers on my funkos. I am doing this to make it easier for my little nephew to pick movies and shows he wants to watch without him having to use a remote.

I have read the comments and many people love the updates about this project. But I do not want to overly post on here and spam the reddit with updates or videos of different funko pops that I connect to my server. So i wanted to post this and ask for any people following the updates to my project....

What updates would you want to see? (More Funko Pops, Update when I get the Movie Covers on my NFC Cards, other?)

And if you arent following the project, feel free to lmk if I need to stop posting as often to prevent flooding the reddit page.

I am working on a guide for this as well that I hope to release when everything is complete and nice.

Made my Courage Funko Pop into a scannable Slylanders type figure that plays a random Episode

For context, I have a home server where I have all my backed up media. Recently I wanted to make use of my Funko Pops ans other statues/figures that just collect dust, as well as find a way for my little nephew to easily switch movies and tv shows since he is just learning to use a remote and struggles alittle.

So I started using NFC tags that I connected to my server to trigger tv shows and movies.

My Courags Funko screams then plays a random episode from my library

Sorry about the title typo, should say Skylanders

Turned my Funko Pops and Figures into Skylanders/Disney Infinity like scannable items for my home server

My NFC stickers came in today and I tested them out on some figures I have as well as my 3d printed one wish willow. They work great. I have custom sounds that are specific to each movie. Is this needed no🤣 but now I have use for my pops and figures. And this will help my little nephew be able to watch the movies he wants without having to mess with a remote.

I used tasker on my old android phone for this paired with simple nfc stickers that I put at the bottom of the figures/Pops. I did this to create a Skylanders/Disney Infinity type figure but for movies instead of video games. I also am doing this with NFC cards as well (See my last post if you wanna check that out. I did not think of that idea my self, but I saw the originsl post snd thought it looked cool) but I never saw anyone do it with figures.

Feel free to ask any questions

*** am using my android box in the video conected to my monitor. And I have the sound muted***

And before anyone says it...No I do not currently have a a Miguel O'Hara Funko Pop🤣

Little Project I am working on

Setting my NFC Cards to play specific movies on my tv. Just set this one up to play obsession. Soon I will make custom stickers for the front that are the poster, and when my nfc stickers come in I will be making something super unique

Connecting my Funko Pops to My Jellyfin

I am currently working on alittle project for my funko's to become more useful to me. I thought it would be cool to integrate my funko pops into my Jellyfin server.

So what I am working on is putting NFC tags on the bottoms of select pops I own that are tied to movies on my server.

Then on the nfc tag I will have to set up to auto play the movie on my tv.

When completed I will be able to take my pop and place it on my nfc scanner (my old cell phone for now) the movie will play on my tv. Think, Skylanders but for Funko Pops and Movies.

I thought this would he a cool way to have something physical represent my movie collection as well as give use to my pops that just sit there reminding me how much money I waisted on them🤣

Working on a Jellyfin NFC project and need suggestions.

Recently I have started working on a NFC Project for my jellyfin server. I have blank nfc cards that I will eventually print custom stickers for. And on each card I will have a code that triggers a specific movie to play on the tv when I tap the car on my old phone that I am using as the card reader.

I decided to do this project for my little nephew as it will be much easier for him to find a movie he wants based on the picture on the card and tap to watch it instead of having to use the remote.

I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions to further grow my idea or any other ideas for NFC tag/card use with jellyfin.
