How long/ how well can your baby sit in high chair?

How long and how well can your baby sit in a high chair? We are 5.5 months and my baby can sit in it for 20 ish min but he does tend to lean and slouch a little. I am wondering when to expect some better body control so I know when I can start putting him in a high chair at restaurants (we live in a touristy area and restaurants are busy in the summer and have been increasingly annoyed at us for bringing the stroller to the table).

Foam play mats

Has anyone used the infantino foldable soft play mat? Is it thick enough to offer safe play? I want a house of Noah mat but they are so expensive and so big and bulky to store! Trying to not spend a ton so looking for a cheaper play mat that is soft but still easy to store

Baby getting sick and feeling guilty

My baby (5mo) keeps catching viruses at daycare and has been on and off sick for a month. I feel so bad. Part of me feels guilty, like maybe if I was still breastfeeding he wouldn’t be getting sick all the time. My boobs have been leaking this week while he is sick (I caught what he has) which is making me feel soooo guilty. Like my milk dried up but my body is still desperately trying to help him 😢 am I a bad mom?

Buying from Bialetti in Italy

Does anyone know if you can buy from Bialetti Italy while in the US? They release much cuter collections!! I bought some of their espresso cups last summer when I was in Italy, but I would love some things from their new collection. Unfortunately, I will not be in Europe this summer.

Bottle recommendation

Dr. Brown’s did me dirty with one too many leaks today (I had the freaking white disc in too and it still leaked all 6 oz out into my bag) so it’s time to move on. What other brands do people recommend? Looking for a similar nipple since my baby takes well to Dr. Brown’s. No breastfeeding so no worries about nipple confusion or anything.

Pairing vertuo machines

Do all vertuo machines have the ability to pair with the Nespresso Smart app? I tried today and mine wouldn’t pair (wasn’t being found). I followed all the instructions so not sure what the issue was. My machine was purchased in 2023.

Need help troubleshooting UConnect

Hello, I have a 2022 jeep compass that can do apply car play through a wired connection or through Bluetooth. Yesterday it just stopped working all of the sudden (both wired and Bluetooth, but the cable was still charging the phone so the cable is not busted). I have tried to troubleshoot but I’ve hit a dead end and need some help. What is next to try??

So far I have:

Restarted the car
Confirmed Apple play is enabled on my phone
Disconnected from the car on my phone
Deleted the car from my Bluetooth on my phone
Deleted my phone from the saved devices on the car
Attempted to reconnect, got the pairing code, even connected once but wouldn’t launch car play. After that, stopped connecting again.
Held entertainment system power button for 10 seconds to reset the car’s system and then tried reconnecting with no success.

I’m worried it’s a bigger issue if even the cord isn’t connecting it? Looking for advice, thank you!

Help with “Pet names” in Spanish

Hello,

We are teaching our baby Spanish (well, trying!). My husband is Venezuelan but moved to the US when he was young, so his Spanish is pretty out of practice. I am an English speaker learning Spanish. I want to use some cute phrases and pet names for my baby in spanish, but I’m not sure of what they would be. What are common ones (extra special if they are common in Venezuela!)? For example, “my cutie” “cutie pie” “sweetie” or anything like that! Thank you

AC for baby’s room

We are looking to purchase an AC/cooling fan for the baby’s room for summer. We don’t want to do a window unit so something that is portable and plugs in would be best. Any recommendations?

Proper Etiquette for house cleaner?

Hello,

I recently had a baby and have hired a house cleaner to come do our bathrooms in a deep clean once every 2 months. I can keep up with the weekly clean and tidy but not the deep cleans. I am wondering what the etiquette is for having a house cleaner come, because I’ve never had one before. Should I remove all the shampoos etc from the shower and remove all the hand soap and products from the counter before she arrives to clean to make her job easier? Is there anything else I should do before she arrives so that I can be kind and respectful of her time? Also what are the tipping norms? Thank you

How to clean my husband’s gross pillowcase?

Hello,

How do I clean my husband’s gross pillowcase? Like a good deep clean. I washed our sheets today and I think there’s oil and dirt and sweat embedded deeply in this thing because it still looked and smelled gross. He’s a sweaty oily boy lol. I’m in the US and prefer to use things I have on hand (baking soda, vinegar etc) but can definitely buy products if they will be worth it. Thank you

Hello,

My baby is 4 months but I’m trying to do some research now to get feeding equipment for when the time comes to start solids. I’m overwhelmed! I’m seeing a lot of plastic (silicone) plates/silverware and then some stainless steel (with silicone handles etc). Is there an advantage to stainless steel over silicone? What are some brands and products that people recommend? Thank you!
