I hate unrelated media having the same title so I have to clarify which one I'm talking about

I don't know if "unrelated" is the correct word here but I can't think of anything else.

No hate to the Sonic movies, but they should've picked a better title. When I think of "Sonic 2", I think of the game, not the movie. I've been a Sonic fan long before the movies came out.

When I hear parents complaining about me never leaving my room...

Being there is more bearable than having to talk to you.

I sometimes even pretended to sleep so that I didn't have to.

You should really take the hint.

Does your language have a specific name for this type of bread?

In Polish we call it "chleb tostowy" (toast bread) because you'd only really buy it if you want to make toast

Am I the only one who prefers the sounds of SMW2 over Yoshi's voice?

I have nothing against Yoshi's voice btw, I think it fits him, but one of the reasons why I love the first Yoshi's Island game on the SNES so much is because of the sounds Yoshi makes when he jumps, eats, etc.

They fit the vibe of the game so much, I love them, I wish they were used more instead of just in that game.

If Sailor Moon was a real person today would be her 49th birthday

If we say that the series is set in 1991 (year of manga debut)

She's 14 at the beginning so would've been born on 30 June 1977

I drew the Blue-haired Girl

Does she even have a name? Anyway I like her design but it's really hard to draw her hair. I do like the bangs though.

Heatwave made my insomnia worse

There's a severe heatwave right now in my region, as I type this it's 33°C (91°F) outside, which is extremely hot here. To make things worse it might reach 40°C (104°F) in a few days but nobody is really sure.

This made my sleep schedule even worse than before, it's right now 31°C (87°F) in my room and even though I do everything to make the temp lower it just can't go below 29°C (84°F). I have no AC and it's just hell for the past few days, I only have a fan to rely on. I legit miss rain now.

Last night I couldn't sleep until around 1.30am because of my room being too hot to comfortably sleep in. For reference I usually can go to sleep before 1am.

I hate this...

This is the first time I've opened up to this to anyone, literally no one knows about this because they won't understand anyway.

I still have hair but I'm scared that if this goes on I won't in the next 1-2 years. Having a receding hairline or anything like that never bothered me because I've had one for years at this point and honestly I don't care, it's the pulling that gets me now.

It all started when I would just start touching my hair out of stress, it was when I first started college. It became more intense, the touching became pulling. Heck I can think of 3 spots on my head where i pulled the most. Now I just want to stop without cutting my entire hair off as doing that will make me even more depressed.

People who make a big deal out of someone's birthday, when they have explicitly said not to

No I don't want you to invite half my family to a "party" I didn't ask for. No I don't want gifts. No don't make people sing happy birthday for me.

Just tell me "happy birthday", if you want to acknowledge it. I personally want it to be just like another day in my life - I don't care about it. I didn't even care for "milestone" birthdays such as 18 or 20.

My pain was mistaken for appendicitis

That was four years ago at this point. This wasn't the first time I had issues like that, but it was the biggest health scare I've ever had.

I remember having excruciating pain most of the day, probably the worst I have felt in my whole life, I was forced to lay down because of it and couldn't even sleep nights because of it. I vomited everything I ate and drinked, even plain water.

I went to the doctor, explained everything, and they told me that they suspect appendicitis. Later I went to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with IBS. The intense pain was caused by gluten. I stopped eating gluten at that time.

I've recovered since then, but still have issues (that are thankfully under control now), and since then I can eat gluten in small ammounts without feeling ill, or the reaction has decreased in severity. I still avoid gluten whenever I can, though. Overall, right now is the healthiest I've been since my diagnosis.

What's the last year to remember using Windows XP during its prime (early 2000s-early 2010s)?

For context: Windows XP was released in 2001 and ended support in 2014.

According to this, the last time Windows XP was the top Windows version was in around October 2011.

I was born in 2004 and personally used XP until 2013.

I did this sketch in 2024 (Reference on second image)

I drew this when I was bored in class, it took me around an hour iirc to complete. The reference I used is on the second image. What do you think?

I've been drawing on and off for 3 years, mostly characters. Before that all I could really do is a stickman. This year I've kind of started to return to that after a longer break.

I had a random urge to sketch.

I've been drawing on and off for 3 years, this year I've had urges to return after a longer break. Didn't really use any resources or anything to learn, just looked at random references and tried to copy them.

I made this in around 15 minutes. I didn't really use any reference for this one - just drew whatever I felt like.

Yes she has no hands, it's not like I can't draw them, but it's hard for me and it was a really quick sketch.

Made this when I was bored in class in 2024

Dated 5 November 2024, I remember sitting in a boring class that day and just sketching this on a whim, IIRC it took me around an hour. Reference character on second image.

"June" in European languages

Source: https://jakubmarian.com/june-in-european-languages/

Polish czerwiecUkrainian čérven’Czech červenBelarusian čérvjen’, and other similar variants, are related to the Slavic name of the colour red (*čьrvenъ in Proto-Slavic), likely referring to ripening apples, cherries, strawberries, and other fruits; the name of the colour itself is derived from *čьrvь (literally “worm”), which referred to a red insect used to make red dye, and some of the names may possibly be derived directly from *čьrvьCroatian lipanj is the month of linden trees, which bloom in June. Lithuanian birželis is derived from beržas, “birch”.

Irish MeitheamhWelsh MehefinBreton Mezheven, and Cornish Metheven are all derived from Proto-Celtic *medyo-samīno, which meant “mid-summer”. Scottish Gaelic Ògmhios is òg (“new”) + mìos (“moon”).

Finnish kesäkuu is derived from kesä (“summer”, archaically also “fallow”) + kuu (“month”), and the same is likely true for Karelian kezäkuuVõro piimäkuu literally means “milk month”. North Sami geassemánnu means “summer month”.

Turkish haziran is borrowed from Aramaic via Arabic, from a word referring to wheat being cut down. Albanian qershor comes from qershi, “cherry” (which, in turn, comes from a Late Latin word for a cherry). Basque ekain is probably derived from eki (“sun”) + gain (“top, zenith”).

Finally, Sardinian is the only Romance language in the map which uses a word not derived from iuniusLàmpadas likely comes from Latin lampada, “lamp, lantern”.
