What if there was a game similar to Onimusha but set in Ancient China?

I've had this idea for a long time in my head, basically the Dynasty Warriors to Onimusha's Samurai Warriors. The problem is what the setting is and who is the protagonist. Three Kingdoms is easy, but too obvious.

Other candidates include the Song Dynasty with the impending mongol invasion, or the late warring states/Qin dynasty.

If it's just "resident evil in ancient china" then what something involving Jiangshi.

If there's any studio that should develop a new Darkstalkers game it would be Arika.

Arika is close enough with Capcom and their style of fighting games match really well.

A Capcom vs SNK 3 roster + grooves rework

Most of the roster are characters who haven't appeared in a CVS crossover, and some of them were scrapped from TvC & MvC3. Gill and Goenitz are final bosses.

If it were to have a Groove system here is what i'd change:

  • C Groove: practically unchanged
  • A Groove: Instead of a Custom Combo Groover it's based on Darkstalkers with chain combos, air blocking, block cancels and a "Special mode" meter
  • P Groove: Instead of 1 Lv3 super, you get 2 Lv2 supers
  • S Groove: Rather than an Extra mode, it's based on The Last Blade, with the "Reflect System" a simple super meter alongside chain combos, air blocking & block cancels.
  • N & K Groove: Also unchanged

What if Pat Was in Star Force 3?

Pat is a very important character in Star Force 1, having a tragic backstory which involves abandonment and his split personality. He appears in Star Force 2 only in post game before disappearing in Star Force 3 with only a single mention by Luna.

So what if he were in that game? Well I find that we don't know what his life in the orphanage was like. We know from Jack & Tia the King foundation takes in and raises orphans. Maybe Pat was one of those kids raised by Mr. King? I think it could provide for some interesting scenarios.

Contract System Rework

I know the devs are planning on doing this, but here's how i would rework the game's contract system:

Daily Contracts:
Instead of the same 6 contracts, there are a multitude of daily contract, all of them are class-neutral. Each day 6 of these are randomly selected

Weekly contracts:
There's nothing much I'd change about weekly contracts, but I would make them cost 15 funds and give out intel as a reward instead of XP.

Event Contracts:
Now this one has the biggest change, rather than having straightforward progression, each reward is tied to a specific contract, and some are class-specific. These are like weekly contracts except you don't have to pay for them.

What if Claud Pincer was part of the main cast/story? How would you change him?

Personally, I would make him take the role of "Geo's Rival" less similar to Chaud & Protoman, more like Tora from BN3, but less of a Jerk.

Potraying him as a person who wants what Geo has got but pushes aside: An exciting life & friends. While Geo has the opportunities but is reluctant, Claud wants those opportunities because he never got them. Cancer on the other hand will be the one motivating him to surpass Geo, being a more traditional rival personality-wise, mostly towards Omega Xis.

After Finishing Star Force 1, I got to say, it was a ride

The game has no right to be this good, concerning its reputation among fans as a "lesser BN"

Compared to Battle Network it was better than the first 3 games combined, it was a solid start to a series with a more serious story.

What about a Castlevania game where you play as Death, or some human incarnation?

Playing Darksiders II gave me the idea for it. There are the "non-Belmont" games and Dracula is the protagonist in the sorrow & LoD duology, so why not Death?

EDIT: Don't tell me Judgement, I'm talking about a "main" game or something

Gunple: Gunman's Proof

This is a very interesting and unique game, Released in 1997, on the same day as FF7. It's an action adventure set in the wild west featuring cowboys, aliens, ghosts and such

The way the game is structured is what makes it unique, basically it has an open world and dungeons. But combat is very much the focus: giving you an arsenal of different guns at your disposal. There are no puzzles in this game and instead of owning weapons & items you pick them up from fallen enemies.

I describe it as "Zelda on wheels" it's a bit too arcade-y but still a fun an fascinating game.
