We need local multiplayer ❗️

Is local multiplayer missing ⁉️

It just occurred to me, after riding the train with my friend who has a Steam Deck and I have the AYN Thor, that we don't know of a way to play local multiplayer yet.

Normally handheld consoles all support local multiplayer. From the Gameboy to DS to Switch, PSP to Vita, etc.

I would think my Thor has a built in feature for it, considering how much it's capable of doing with all the tech inside it. And you would think since the Steam Deck is so mainstream and trying to be a legitimate handheld gaming device that local multiplayer should be a key feature.

And I would assume with all these emulation devices coming out over all these years, that 1 would have connecting multiple devices in mind.

I remember I was able to play a local multiplayer tic tac toe homebrew between a ds and psp back in the day.

Am I missing something? I can connect up to 8 Nintendo Switchs including Switch Lite, and Switch 2, together to play a game locally without internet connection, as long as they are within distance of each other, and they each have their own copy of the same game. Sometimes only 1 Switch needs to have the game to host while the other Switchs can still play without the game but they need to download the free companion app that allows them to join the host. Then there was DS download play, which was a whole feature built into Nintendo DS consoles.

How can 2 or more Steam Decks connect to each other locally with out wifi? How can 2 or more AYN Thors connect locally? How can any emulation device connect up to 2 or more locally?

How can my AYN Thor connect to my friend's Steam Deck locally with out internet?

Whether we want to play a Steam game, or a game using an emulator. The main game we have in common so far is Super Smash Bros. Melee. But we're looking to test out any multiplayer Steam game.

So far what comes to mind to make local multiplayer possible, besides a built in feature idk about yet, is:

Parsec - technically it is an app to enable download play style multiplayer, but it functions using wifi. I think there could be a mod or tweeking of the settings, some kind of way to get multiple devices connected to each other directly. Parsec or a parsec like app would be perfect in general.

Bluetooth - a way to turn the device into a wireless controller to connect to the host device. Not the best solution, but couldn't Bluetooth be used to straight up connect multiple devices to 1 host? Similarly how Nintendo Switch local multiplayer works with multiple Switch consoles joining 1 Switch host, all done from within the game's menus.

An app that specifically enables local multiplayer - maybe it turns the device into a controller, while also screen mirroring. Or perhaps it connects multiple devices so that Steam's Remote Play Together will connect offline, likely allowing offline messages and invites via Steam Chat app, which will trigger Steam Link app to connect wirelessly offline. Or maybe the app has all the features built-in, and does everything within the app.

Anybody got any ideas?

FINALLY! I got a Zero Point from a chest! 😭 Why didn't my replay save??

I'm sure asf I recorded the clip when I got it!!! I'm so mad It's no where on my Switch 2 album!!! 🤬🤬🤬

And for some reason, all my replays werent saved either???!!!

There was only 1 replay that was saved out of all the games I played today... I watched it, and it wasn't the replay with the Gem Zero Point sprite find... And for some reason, after I watched the replay, It DISSAPPEARED TOO?? WHY?!

Can someone please explain.

Also If you happened to be on my team that game (I was typing in the chat how hype I was about it), please check your replays and if you have the footage send it to me. 🙏

I'm still happy I found a Zero Point from a chest though. ✌️😭

I also found the Gem Grim sprite along with many others from chests today too.

Can we get some Super Dragon Ball Heroes TFS treatment in here? I wanna see something

What are some dialogs you can come up with for SDBH abridged?

For this scene here all I can think of is:

CC Goku: Daddy Shark doo doo doo doo doo doo

Xeno Goku: (Idk how TFS would write him lol)

Fire and Water Sprites are bugged

Is it just me or do the Fire and Water Sprites not do anything anymore? I haven't seen a fire on the map in weeks. It doesn't matter how much damage I do a fire will never ignite. The water sprite never heals my shield in shallow nor deep water.

All other sprites seem fine. I think the Earth and Burnt Penut sprites are working, can't really tell because regardless of sprite or no sprite sometimes good loot will spawn in near me randomly, don't know what for exactly.

Where are my Jam Tracks!?

I'm missing "Drop In" by Trippie Redd, even though it played in my random drop in music shuffle.

I'm missing Batman and lot's of others.

I'm about to stop buying. What's the point if they're just going to get removed.

(Exactly why I buy physical games)

Parsec Arcade alternative(s)

I just want to netplay all my games with randos again 🥹

Since Parsec Arcade has left, that void has yet to be filled. I'm surprised noone has tried to recreate or improve upon what Parsec Arcade has given us.

Maybe some just wasn't there for Parsec at the time, but those who were remember the PEAK that was Parsec. How easy it was to host, to join other people's games, and discover new games you probably never heard of.

I myself had a Smash Bros Brawl mod that I used to host on Parsec, lots of new players daily, and I even held tournaments. Something that wouldn't be possible before and isn't now that Parsec Arcade is gone.

If you didn't know about Parsec Arcade, it's just a remote desktop based netplay. One person hosts the game, everyone else can join to watch the game or connect their controller to remotely control the hosts game.

For the host, they will recieve new inputs as if those people plugged in usb controllers into their pc, the host just has to assign those new inputs as player 2, 3, 4, etc. There was a chat for everyone connected to communicate. It was glorious!

Currently all the available netplay options are all trash!!! From RetroArch to Steam to NSO. There is no way to seamlessly jump into or host any game for anyone to easily join and play or watch.

If someone out there is capable of recreating Parsec Arcade in anyway, please do.

If there is a project already in the works or already out there please let me know. I just want to play some SNES games or anything I feel like playing with others from time to time.

Parsec was the GOAT! I still can't believe it's not here now and noone has made any alternatives yet.

Whether it's a feature in an emulator, or frontend, a new program entirely. We need remote desktop netplay back. I would love it for android, but PC needs it now, i don't mind linux either. Whatever it takes! 🎮🌐💻

Psylocke buff proposal: Ninja

You're always dead silent like an assassin. You slow and mask your presence like a ninja. Completely Invisible to all Blind Lawyers and anyone who is Blind. Increased damage against DareDevil. Also hard counters DareDevil specifically.

Part 3: Android users deserve to play Slippi too

You guys work fast! Someone messaged me on my Part 2 post saying they created a Slippi port for Rocknix (Linux) for the AYN Thor, now I get sent this!

Someone created yet another Slippi port for Android.

You guys are amazing!

I have the X/Twitter link to the original post, but sharing the link is against the rules. DM me or something for the link.

I solved it! First tryyy. AYN Thor kickstand!

Next models of AYN Thors need to have a built-in kickstand! The fan blasts way too high with the console getting way too hot to not have a kickstand. But hey, at least I solved the problem now. No more doing that weird laying your Thor on it's side thing, or reaching for that external stand/dock everytime you need to rest the Thor down.

Is there a way to run as administrator in GameNative?

I need to be able to run this exe as administrator to play Bleach. So far only GameHub is able to play this game with this feature available.

How to install mods on Rocknix? (Steam games) AYN Thor - Linux

I just installed Rocknix and just installed Steam. I'm in the middle of downloading Sparking Zero from my Steam library, so I can't check, but how can I access the local files of a game? There is currently no "browse local files" option in the Steam app for Rocknix. I'm assuming I would have to restart into Android on my Thor. Unless there is an option somewhere in Rocknix to access all the files on my sd card, but even with that how would I connect it to say my pc to copypasta my mod files over to it?

Also, since the SteamDeck is linux based, how does SteamDeck users install mods on their device?

Lastly what's the word on official Steam OS support for ARM based systems from Valve themselves?

I'm hype asf rn lol

From Evil Buu to Pui pui, Spopavich and King Vegeta, from Dragon Ball to Z movies to GT, every single version and time period for each character, we had it all.

Sparking Zero deserves to have every part of all things Dragon Ball included in it's largest roster in history.

Shallot is a perfect example of this.
