אתה הבעלים?

Did I hear this right? I was in a store when someone came in and asked the guy behind the counter "אתה הבעלים". The guy behind the counter confirmed that he was the owner.

But what gives with this mixing of single (אתה) and plural (בעלים)? IIRC, one other way to ask if he's the owner is to ask אתה בעל העסק, correct? But those are both single forms. So what's with אתה הבעלים?

פּרוֹיֶקט ???

Numerous Hebrew loan words that contain the letter j sound are written as a gimel with a geresh. Examples include

גִ'ינס

ג'וק

ג'ל

ג'קט

But in the case of the word "project" they simply replaced the j with a yud, פרויקט. Why is that? Is it because the j is in the middle of the word project and these other words begin with j?

Plumber: שרברב

Step stool: שרפרף

To get excited: להתלהב

To get angry: להתלהם

Calm down: תירגע

Get excited: תירגש

I know that this isn't unique to Hebrew. There are undoubtedly a million words in English where if you change one letter you get an entirely different meaning. But I already speak English. While learning Hebrew there are just some words that my brain sinoky refuses to memorize directly.

And people tend to look at you funny when your apartment floods as a result of your shower drain being clogged and then you keep yelling at your roommate to call a step stool 😅

I see labels on liquid hand soap describing the contents as "אל סבון". I know that סבון is soap so what does the word "אל" convey? Is that supposed to tell me that this is liquid hand soap?

A little while back I saw a post here where someone took the time to address the most common Talmud quotes that are taken out of context by anti-semites to show how evil the JOOS are. But now I can't seem to find it.

Can someone please point me to any posts that do a good job addressing these Talmudic quotes that are intentionally taken out of context?

Thanks (and good Shabbos)

I've seen signs posted that say לא תקין and also one that said לא עובד.

So what's the correct way to post that something is out of order?
