First Time Buying a Sephora Gift Card for My Fiancée in Canada – Need Advice on a Good Amount

Hi everyone,

I’ve never been to Sephora before, so I honestly have no idea about the prices or how much people usually spend there.

I’d like to gift my fiancée a Sephora gift card in Canada for her birthday, but I’m not sure what would be considered a reasonable amount. I want it to be enough for her to enjoy and buy something nice, without being excessive.

For those familiar with Sephora, what gift card amount would you recommend? Is CAD $25, $50, $75, $100 or more than that?

I’d really appreciate any guidance. Thanks in advance!

Saskatoon Birthday on a Budget, Where to Get Flowers & Cake?

Hi everyone,
I hope you’re doing well. I’m looking for affordable recommendations for birthday flowers and a cake in Saskatoon. I’m trying to keep things within a reasonable budget while still making the occasion special.
If you know of any flower shops, bakeries, or places that offer good value for money (with delivery as an added bonus), I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you in advance for your help!

23M, NUST Graduate (2025) Working in Qatar — Should I Stay in the GCC or Pursue a Master’s in the US/Europe?

Hi everyone,

I’m 23M, graduated from NUST in 2025, worked on UNDP-related projects, and recently moved to Qatar for a job opportunity.

I’m enjoying life and work here, but I’m wondering about my next step. Should I continue gaining experience in the GCC, or pursue a Master’s in the US or Europe in sustainability/environmental engineering?

For those who’ve been in a similar situation, what would you recommend and why?

Environmental Engineer in GCC – How is the Job Market and Future Prospects?

Hi everyone,

I'm an Environmental Engineer from Pakistan and recently moved to Qatar. I've been here for around 3 months and am trying to understand the long-term prospects for environmental engineers in the GCC.

How is the current job market for environmental engineers in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other GCC countries? Are there good opportunities in areas like sustainability, ESG, EIA, wastewater treatment, waste management, carbon accounting, and climate change?

Do you think the future is stable and promising for environmental engineers in the GCC over the next 5–10 years, or is it becoming difficult to find relevant roles?

I would appreciate insights from professionals already working in the region.

Anyone in Qatar who has gone through the UPDA (MMUP) Engineering Registration process? Need complete guidance on requirements & documents

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in Qatar and planning to apply for UPDA/MMUP engineering registration. I’m from Pakistan with an Environmental Engineering degree, already attested by the MOFA Pakistan.

Can someone please guide me on the latest requirements and process?

Specifically:

  • What documents are required besides the MOFA-attested degree?
  • Is Qatar Embassy/MOFA Qatar attestation needed too?
  • Experience letter requirements and minimum experience?
  • Current exam process and difficulty?
  • Any recent updates or common mistakes to avoid?

I’ve seen mixed information online, so I would really appreciate guidance from someone who recently went through it.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Emotionally invested but feel one sided

Long-distance engagement here.

I’m deeply invested in the relationship, but I’m always the one initiating conversations. She rarely texts or calls first, and most replies are pretty dry.

Her birthday is next month, and I’m thinking of planning a surprise for her. But part of me wonders if I’m putting in way more effort than she is.

Would you plan the surprise anyway, or have a direct conversation first and ask where you really stand?

My fiancée is not interested in me what should i do?

I’m 23, working as an engineer in Qatar, and my fiancée is 26 and lives in the US. We’re engaged, but the long-distance communication is really bothering me.

We barely talk unless I initiate, and her replies are usually very dry. I feel like I’m always the one making the effort, which is starting to get frustrating. I care about her and our future, but the communication gap is making me question things.

Has anyone been through something similar? Is this something that can improve, or is it a red flag?
