Anyone ever tend bar at Cheba Hut?
Is there money to be made there? I'm on the fence. I quit smoking weed a few months ago, so I don't really want to work at a place where that's the theme, you know?

I used to only do this part time. Nowadays, it's more stable than my career in hospitality so I have been doing full time.
With this pivot, I am debating learning everything I can about my car and other cars. I mean, I can change a tire, but I feel I need to know more if I'm gonna be doing this all the time.
Maybe I can parlay it into a mechanic career. Who knows? Anyone else ever followed this thought process further than me?
In a recent episode, Andrew said Greg has part of his skull missing. I know he has schizophrenia of course, but did he mention anything new? He brought this up when talking about how his family is all fucked up recently. Was depressing as fuck. Just curious.
Just need something to practice and learn on/get my finger strength up. Are there any stores cheaper than guitar center out there, or maybe somebody is trying to get rid of one?
I am between a night bartending job and a daytime serving job. Honestly the night job is so much better, but I have it in my head that if I work mornings, I can gig at night. Anyone else been in this scenario?
I feel the older I get, the more I hate doing a stage. Idk why I feel guilty about it, we all know the feeling of staging just to find out the role has been filled by someone else. One place had me stage as a server/barista dual role, then hired someone else as a server, then asked me if I could be a barista for them for 1 day a week since the person they hired couldn't barista.
My main issue with them is idk how hands on to be. if they say be hands off, I simply don't believe them. If they say be hands on, I worry I'll fuck up a common protocol of the job.
Ever since then, I have half a mind to just brush off any place that wants a stage. I have one tomorrow for a place that is considering me, but I already got hired by another place. I'd rather work at the stage place, but if I have the guarantee elsewhere, I'd rather take the guarantee.
Am I wrong for getting the ick over a stage?

I got two offers today: one at a cool as fuck dive bar and one at a fine dining chain downtown. I've already done the fine dining thing. I'm just curious how money stacks up in your experience. Hard to compare for me, but if it means I can wear a t shirt and make almost as much, I'm diving bruh
How do I meet woman
Sorry for the tabloid esque headline. If you haven't seen the DnD post on instagram from today, Jesse was told last September he was told he had a 50% chance of living the next 3 months by a doctor. Obviously it's a year later so he made that 3 months and appears to be a year sober.
This shit just hit me hard man. I used to be acquaintences with him and he gave me the confidence to start my music projects. Just had to share with y'all to get it off my mind since I am newly sober as well and shit is scary.
Here's what I can do:
Every position in restaurants from cook to manager and everywhere in between.
I think the problem is that I fear that industry will trigger a relapse. I'm also getting older and my body won't recover as well.
My local community college offers a few bachelors degrees in nursing, cybersecurity, software dev and electrical engineering. I already know the deal with tech right now, seems high risk in this market BUT these bachelors degrees are cheaper than they would be at Uni. Perhaps nursing is the way for me?
I've thought about drug counseling. Idk if there's money in it and I'd like to have a family one day. Besides that, if I wanted to leave that career, it seems like there would be limited options.
Beyond all that, it's so wierd looking at life through a sober lens now. I feel like a baby, but middle age is on the horizon. If anyone has comforting words send them my way please.
The guys spent some time praising her new song, as they should. Matter of fact, she's been praised on the pod for like a decade now and in the general hip hop media space. Nobody can really say anything against her, a great artist with bars and appearantly she can sing good too. So why does it still feel like Rhap is still underground?
This is not a weird circlejerky post or a joke. I live in Austin now and whether people here like it or not, Austin is too fun and exciting for me. I'm realizing I appreciate humble environs and simple people.
I am an artist and a workaholic in the restauraunt industry. I prefer my work and my passion to be my life. When I'm living in a place like Austin, I miss out a ton by choice because I'm so wrapped up in my art and my work.
In terms of art, I made my best stuff when I lived in shitty places with nothing to do. I can't really create if I'm in a nice, comfortable spot. My stuff is more inspired by discomfort and boredon. There's no boredom in Austun whether you're the hippie old head or the new influencer type.
As far as work goes, I can see the beauty in most restauraunts, and I don't want to see the city I live in as more appealing than the restaurant I work at because I spend more time at work than in my city if that makes sense.
edit: this shit blew the fuck up what the hecky
Hello, I am seeking someone who can both appraise a painting I have as well as potentially connect me to a buyer. I understand this is a tall order but I'm sure somebody out there can do both tasks?
Will I have better luck in Santa Fe?
I wrote the song while going through cocaine withdrawals, in the aftermath of two overdoses from two coworkers I had.
Mods, delete if not allowed, it's important to me to try to reach restaurant workers with this song because nobody really looks out for us. It's the thing that bothers me the most in the industry is how many coworkers I've seen pass away or even just struggle mentally over the years. Two restaurants in a row, I lost two teammates (technically one was a bartender I was managing, but he was more like a peer given he knew more about bar than me).
The grief hasn't ended, and I wrote this song a couple years ago to try and get through it. Ironically, I was also struggling with a coke addiction. I'd be in the bathroom ripping lines off of check presenters, going back to tables yakked out of my mind.

I've always liked the BL brand and I wanted to work there even though I live in Austin. But their locations doesn't show up on the website and I just heard they declared bankruptcy. So was just curious if anyone has intel
I was walking to the gym near Speedway and 43rd at night, and in front of me, some sort of large mammal crossed the road in front of me. It manuevered pretty quick, almost moved like a possum but 3 times as big.
Any ideas what it could be? I figured a raccoon may be the closest possible thing, but it seemed too big to be a raccoon even. Has anyone seen any strange creatures out and about?
It's kind of like French sophistopop meets ambient meets jazz. A total classic in my book, the only track I'm not crazy about is track 4 habla mi corazon. It's not a bad track, just sequenced wierd.
Top tracks on this thing for me are Cafe De Paris, For All Seasons, Ciel, Ocean Kisses, Tsuki, Apertif, but really this whole album is awesome.
