Can i use this thick cotton to make m17 austro hungarian chinstrap

I know it doesnt look the same but they probably had a different types of erzats chinstrap during the war. Its 3cm in thicknes originals go from 1.5 to 3cm and i have the right buckle too

Can you tell me more about Bosnisch-herzegowinische Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 2

Boath my great grandfather were fighting during Ww1 boath were ethnic Serbs one was fighting for Serbian army in VII puk Kralja Petra I and second probably serve in Austro Hungarian army but my father does not know. So l asked Ai and they sad that people with my last name(Baroš) served in that perticular regiment. My last nameis pretty rare around 4000 people have it today and Ai specificly saiid that people from Glamoč (where my ancestors were) served there. So yeah i would be happy to know more about that regiment.

Can i wear these

Got these Sancho boots today. They look new and unused. The seller sad that the got thrm 15 to 20 years ago and wore them once but the stitching looks ​ like its missing there are a few traces of some thread but idk. So idk if i could wear these or the sole will Just fall off
