My browser game suddenly took off - and Season 2 just started

"6,898 loops in the first 30 minutes of Season 2, from 22:00 to 22:30 CEST."

So. I made a game. A browser game. The famous "io" games. Didn't even know what IO games was exactly. But I had an idea. And I bought an "io" domain. InkDom.io
Then I posted a few places online about the game. And it honestly became more than I could've ever hoped or dreamed for. (Okay I actually dreamt about this). But wow.

It's an online game where the world map is the map. You make loops to claim land with ink. Can form alliances. You can claim other players land. And basically it's just about who gets the most land. But with small twists, like it calculates how many people is inside your land, and inside each loop you take - and the people pay you taxes, so you earn money, etc.

Quickly thousands of players had played the game, and now, in no time, it somehow formed the coolest community, where players are chatting, forming alliances, planning actual real STRATEGIES in my game. There's even like special lingos being made like "Shield snipe". Some players are active on a subreddit here on Reddit about the game.

The game runs in Seasons, and Season 2 just began, with a countdown screen, where all the players that waited for it could chat and talk about what they'll do for Season 2.

It's all just... surreal. I've wanted this for so long. I've been creating so many wierd games, apps etc.

And then one of the small wierd ideas, that I purely made for fun is the one blowing up.

I'm posting this in AI Game Dev because I've used a bunch of AI for this.

Now I even see this as a "how far can I take this project" using AI, since it allows me to work sooooo much faster, and use my energy on being creative etc.

Why am I posting this? Absolutely no idea. My better half is tired of hearing me babble about it. And my friends have stopped hearing at my ideas a looong time ago.

Keep building guys and girls. You apparently literally never know what suddenly just hits just right

Maybe someone can use this

I'm 31 and have a 5 month old son (Bottle Baby). I work as a developer, so I made an app for us.

It started with the sounds. When I settle him I shush him, and I couldn't find an app that did that properly — most of them are just a flat hiss. So I made the ones I was missing, including a rhythmic shush that goes in and out the way you actually do it, and a deeper, darker noise that works better than the sharp ones.

The rest came after: somewhere to note when he ate and slept, what he's meant to be doing at his age, and tips for activities and settling, since I could never remember any of it in the moment.

It's free. I don't earn anything on it, I just made it for my own kid. But maybe someone else can use it too. And if you try it and something is off or annoying, I'd like to hear it.

[Dolphin Beyond] Homage to one of my all time favorite Flash games "Dolphin Olympics"

This is a tribute/homage or whatever you'll call it, to one of my all time favorite Flash games from the 00's "Dolphin Olympics".

Anyone remember it?

A million articles were published today. I built something that keeps ten

Most news sites are paid to keep you on the page. I wanted the opposite: get you caught up, then get out of your way.

So I built a thing that scans everything published each day, clusters it, and keeps the ten stories the world’s newsrooms actually covered most. Today that was 1,009,987 articles across 64 languages. Each cluster gets turned into one story — facts, no clickbait, fast to read. Separate top tens for World, Sport, Money, Tech, Science and Climate.

It’s called Nuze. Nothing in it makes money right now. I mostly want to know whether the ranking feels right to people who read a lot of news — where does it get it wrong?

Nuze read 1,009,987 articles today. Ten made it. It's live — go try it.

Hey hey,

I just finished a project I've been chewing on for a long time: Nuze.

Nuze scans basically everything published online each day, clusters it, and picks the ten stories the world's newsrooms actually wrote about most. Today it read 1,009,987 articles across 64 languages. Ten made it.

Then it turns each cluster into one story — fact-focused, no clickbait, and structured so you can get through it fast. There's a separate top ten for World, Sport, Money, Tech, Science and Climate.

The reason I built it: news is scattered across a thousand sites, and almost all of them are built to keep you on the page as long as possible, because that's how they get paid. I wanted the opposite — get you caught up and then get out of your way. Ten stories, then done.

I literally just finished it. There's no monetization in it at all right now. There will be eventually, because it costs a good handful of money every day to run, but for now I just want people to use it.

Anyone remember Dolphin Olympics?

Hey guys & girls,
So lately, as a small fun project, I made a remake of the old flash game Dolphin Olympics. Maybe some of you remember it?

Would absolutely LOVE if some of you tried it, and gave me some feedback. Would really appreciate it. Always difficult to test a game yourself - so I need someone "outside" to tell me the harsh truth. Lol.

Only on iOS for now - but Android users can play on DolphinBeyond . com!

A little football game I made — no betting, just predicting the World Cup

I built a small game for following the World Cup without any money involved — just the fun of calling how the games go.

Each day you predict that day's matches — who wins, plus a few quick calls on each, and exact score or scorers if you're feeling brave — then rank which picks you're most sure about. The real results settle it, and it resets every day, so you can jump in anytime — the whole tournament's ahead if you want something to play along to.

It's free, no betting, nothing to buy. I made it and I'm just hoping a few people enjoy it — would love to hear what you think. Link's in a comment below.

A little cycling game I made — no betting, just predicting the stages

I built a small game for following bike racing without any money involved — just the fun of calling how a stage goes.

Each stage you get six rider-vs-rider matchups and pick who finishes ahead in each, then rank which calls you're most sure about. The real result settles it, and it resets every stage, so you can jump in anytime — the Tour de Suisse is on right now if you want something to play along to.

It's free, no betting, nothing to buy. I made it and I'm just hoping a few people enjoy it — would love to hear what you think. Link's in a comment below.
