Exeed Test Car with Lidar HD Mapping Scanner

Sa far Thailanad hasn't seen any manufacturer release a truly ambitious ADAS like the ones common in China. Could there be any other purpose than for a navigation on autopilot type of systems?

Has anyone figured out what the CarPlay improvements are?

Spend some time last night looking at the upgrade but didn’t see anything new. Was hoping to see the mini map in the HUD for CarPlay navigation apps but it still only works for the onboard one. Anyone manage to see any difference?

Anyone interested in 3D printed front covers for the Wallbox Pulsar Plus?

Have two of them installed. The busy one had a broken Bluetooth module so i swapped the controller boards. While doing this both front covers broke. Now i wonder if it's worth to 3D model them or just use duct tape. Seems to be a weak spot specially when the plastic has aged a bit. At most placed spare parts are sold out except one for 150 Euro lol. Anyone having the same problem and interested in an STL/3MF file?

I was thinking just to print the outer frame since inner transparent part is made of different platic and seem to be holding up much better. Anyone notice the same?

Which app for overall AV charging route planning?

What are Thailand's EV driver using to plan a route with charging stops? Are you just picking your favorite network or two and check their maps or are you using Plugshare or ABRP? Or are you trusting the build-in route planner (in that case which brand of car)?

Create a card to show my local traffic condition with the HERE API

Always wanted to have a quick overview about the traffic condition around my house to see which mode of transport is the smartest or if it's better to wait out the local school traffic etc. I've seen multiple hacks to get this done like using the Google Maps website as a camera feed etc that didn't convince me. This is a clean integration using the HERE API. You can zoom and pan. The API gives you 30,000 free traffic map tile requests per month. The way i use it i'm consuming less thata 200 per day. From comparing it with Google Maps the data quality appears decent but ymmv. Location is just random and not my own. Coded with Claude.

How does data about chargepoints get exchanged between CPO and map providers?

I often see public charge points that are not new but still not listed on maps. Got me thinking how does the data exchange happen between charge point operators and services like Google Maps, ABRP and the generic map apps of some car brands?

Best way to integrate HERE maps API

Has anyone played with the free HERE maps api? Sadly due to their name it's something really hard to Google.

What i want is a simple map view with the traffic condition around me. Their data looks quite good. What would be the best way to approch this? Which card type lends itself best to this? Has there been any previous work? All i found is the travel time integration of the Here API.

Does a motorized mortise lock with these properties exist?

The simplest way to describe what i want is a Nuki lock but build into the door and hardwired.

There is what i'm looking for:

  • Mortise lock with a motor additional to the key locking mechanism. Both key and motor have "equal rights" to lock/unlock
  • Interacting with the door unchanged from manual lock
  • Door can be opened from both sides by pressing down the handle like a room door when unlocked
  • Motorized locking mechanism only locks when doors is closed
  • Ability to read locking status
  • Euro style lock cylinder
  • Weather proof enough to be installed in a garden gate
  • Controllable from 3rd party devices like UniFI Access
  • Price sub ~$300

It seemed simple first but i can't find any product like this. There are tons of hotel door unlocking machanisms that are part of propriatary systems like this one. I could probably reverse engineer the controller but i'm afraid they use the key part just for emergency like a broken controller with unwanted sideeffect in daily use. They are also very opaque about the lock logic etc. Would go the Nuki route but this door is exposed to the elements on both sides (none of these screw on locks have good IP rating) and i want to avoid having too many devices that need regular battery charging and yet another smart device hub or cloud solution.

Smartplugs are amazing for notifications for kitchen appliances

I'm aware 99% here know this usecase but there might still be a few that look at smart plug only as a remote to on/off devices like myself first.

Wasn't sure what to do with a smart plug i picked up. First idea was a floor lamp but that can also be done with a smart bulb. Turns out the power monitor is a much more useful feature for me. So now i'm gonna replace all my kitchen outlets with zigbee ones just to report on power consumption drops because they signal "ready to use" in different ways.

  • Espresso machine stops initally boiling the water -> ready to make your coffee
  • Washing machine turns off -> time to hang up your clothes
  • Egg Boiler -> Eggs ready
  • Rice Cooker
  • Toaster
  • Air Fryer
  • etc.

Works for suprisingly many appliances. Intitally i considered putting a pressure sensor into my espresso machine as a small hacking project but realize it can all be done by profiling the power usage. Also you could easily profile which appliance is in use without addressing a specific outlet of you move your appliances around.

Want to get rid of the unusable remove control driver and just have an on/off wall switch for a BLDC ceiling fan.
I've followed this wire diagram with a switched power supply and the BLDC driver in the scematics

https://preview.redd.it/86jdmd57xnxg1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=7c07c9fb8074a3865500a76e8de9401d9f509f7a

When i connect it to the fan it makes a little noise but doesn't turn in any direction. Thankfully no smoke :) Tried different settings with the potentiometer and direction switch. Am i missing something? Are there different 24V BLDC motors so this might be incompatible? Fan and driver are hall sensor less. Will try and check the output with an oscilloscope next when i can borrow one (but zero experiences using one) but wanted to clear the basics first. The fan motor is labeled "HF DC24V 85-12" with 3 leads coming in labeled "Motor Lead U, V and W" at the remove receiver/driver. Any pointers?
