How much credit do I need for a small loan to pay down my other credit cards?

Please correct me if this is the wrong flair, but I'm needing some help. I just opened a SoFi account. I'm trying to move away from Discover before the Cap1 merge finishes and all of the local CUs and banks have awful reviews. SoFi looked promising, so I'm trying it out. I saw that they offered small personal loans to pay off credit card debt and as I have one card maxed out with super high interest, I was curious. They told me they couldn't offer anything right now and I'm wondering what I might be able t9 do to change that. My credit is all over the 600s depending on where I check it. Not high. My open accounts are my 2 credit cards (about $2500 total) and my student loans. People who have taken the loans, how did you qualify?

Thoughts on the Credit Unions available in and around GJ.

Good afternoon. I'm looking into new banking options. I currently use Discover and Chime, but with their merger into Capital One and all the issues around Chime not taking security seriously in the last couple years, I'm looking into other options. I have very little trust in actual banks and have always been told Credit Unions are "better", but am not super financially savvy and don't know how to find what I'm looking for.

Things that are important:

-Free checking is a must.

-Free savings is also a must. I'm not super picky about APY, but I can't afford fees for every little thing.

-No fees for transferring between accounts is preferred.

-The ability to open savings of some kind for my kids.

-No account minimum. I live paycheck to paycheck and have to spend my entire paycheck for the most part every week.

-Good customer service for fraud and mishaps.

-Optional: Good loan/credit building options to look into when I become more stable.

I've poked around a few of their websites and don't really understand what I'm looking at. Thanks in advance for your experiences.

If I don't somehow get enough skateboards in the next 16 hours, am I cooked?

2k skateboards is a LOT for someone who's usually FtP. I impulsively spent about $15 and STILL couldn't get to 2k. I'm so close, but the event ends tomorrow. Does this carry over? Like if Cozy Farm starts next, will I only need 634 fertilizer as long as I don't swap evolve trials? Or will it reset once this event ends and be 4k?

Is it my metabolism or is my job just more cardio heavy than I thought?

Hi. I (29F) have been on a weight gain journey for almost 2 years now and was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I am 5ft 6in and used to be around 145-150lb. I was really loving my body at this size after a lifetime of body image issues. 2 years ago, my gallbladder went bad and I needed it removed. I rapidly lost weight leading up to the surgery as I couldn't eat at all. Once it was out, I could eat like normal, but I was down to 120lb and hated it. I felt like I looked sickly and boney with sunken cheeks and it aged me like CRAZY. I spent a year and a half force feeding myself anything I could and just couldn't gain. Recently, I've started turning it up a notch, tracking calories and protein and working out and I've managed to get to about 130lb, but I'm stuck. I avoid cardio at all costs. I make myself eat foods I hate. I eat as much as I possibly can until I'm about to throw up (4 meals a day is all I can manage with my work schedule). I'm at a loss (literally).

I work in a busy kitchen constantly speed walking between the line and coolers, sweating and lifting boxes. I imagine it's tons of cardio for 9-10 hours straight. According to my math, I'm eating almost 3000 calories a day and would be so physically sick if I ate more. I'm not cutting fat or carbs at all. I'm adding tons of eggs, beans, meats, etc.

What am I doing wrong?? Is my metabolism just in overdrive?

$3.25 just to use CashApp?!

Jesus, I'm so done at this point. Anyone who saw my last post here knows that a new bank just bought Fintwist and changed up the ATMs we can use. Any in my area (and within 200 miles of me) cost about $7.50 to use now between the ATM's fee and the banks. I really wish Comdata/Corpay would tell us what the fees for various things are. I added my card to CashApp to see if maybe that would be cheaper. It is, but holy cow, it's still so expensive. 😭 I've never had a fee charged on CashApp's end to add money from an account or card, but when I moved $25 with a balance of $29.05, my remaining balance was somehow $0.80! It's only $0.70 if I want to do cash back at the grocery store, but I also have to buy something to do that, making it about the same. Do they want us to keep donating?! At this rate it's like they don't even want us to do it anymore with how expensive it is to even access our money.

Rant over. Thanks.

I really hope this is a case of a fake AI upload and not the real Ministry succumbing to this crap. The cats are so AI. This really just breaks my heart if it's real.

Landlords are putting off fixing a leak that's been causing issues for YEARS, but I'm afraid I can't even take legal action at this point. Where do I even start?

Sorry, this may be a long one. I'll try to keep it concise and chronological.

I'm in Mesa County in Colorado, USA.

I moved in May of 2017. It was my first place without roommates, just me, my soon-to-be-born son, and his dad. We took pictures of things we noticed and wrote them on the lease, but I was 20 and had no idea what we were even looking for while we quickly rushed through the rooms.

Fast forward to October of 2021, it's just me and my two kids at this point who were very little and the ceiling in the hallway by the swamp cooler starts bowing and sinking in. The entire hallway nearly collapsed and the landlords acted annoyed with me for even asking. They flat out told me they were too busy, refused to hire anyone, and said I was welcome to leave if it felt unsafe. I had no clue I had any rights at this point and was thinking if I pressed it, I would just be homeless, so I let them take their time and several days later, they did a patch job on the inside of the apartment. They never went into or touched the attic space between the ceiling and roof (relevant to later).

They always have a crap attitude any time I need anything and treat me like I'm an annoying pest when I do so I try to avoid it.

Fast forward again to June of this year. My dad who was cat sitting found a leak that started dripping into the lightbulb (yes, IN the lightBULB) while I was out of town. We contacted them and he came by before I got back and claimed it was dry and that nothing was leaking. I sent a picture of the bucket that had collected several tbsps of water by then and he didn't make it back for two days. His solution (which I was told verbally and don't have in writing) was to spray something on the roof I think even though it was coming from inside as well as by the water heater. After that he called it good.

Then there's today. I woke up and the leak was back coming from the light fixture along with the ceiling bowing and sinking like the hallway did... Messaged the landlords and he called saying he "has a plan" and claimed he was here this morning, but hasn't contacted me back since and hasn't done anything.

Now in my unprofessional opinion, this is all connected to the same issues that never got fully fixed years ago. I can't prove this without hiring someone to go look at it, which I'm fairly certain is against the lease because it's "maintenance".

My questions:

-How do I give them official written notice asking for repairs if I mainly text them and don't have any other methods of contact?

-What kind of legal person do I contact when I don't have any money, but don't qualify for low-income support?

-What's the first step in starting legal action if they continue to put this off and refuse to truly fix it?

I need to live here for at least 2 more years while I save up and build credit because I don't have ANY savings and am only just now in a position to start one. Even studio apartments cost double what I'm paying right now, so moving isn't an option. Any information will help. Thank you!

Had it with landlords and am seriously just considering being homeless for a few months to build credit and save for a better place.

I've lived in this apartment for 9 years. At this point, it's not likely I'll be able to leave it any time soon because even studio apartments are double what I'm paying currently. I'm only paying what I do because they're private landlords and I've been here so long. While I DO appreciate them not raising my rent often, they don't take care of this place AT ALL. Slumlords is an understatement.

A few years ago, there was a leak so bad that my entire hallway almost crashed down. They "fixed" it and claimed there was no mold or anything even though they never even looked in the attic area. Now, it's happening again in a different spot. I messaged them and was told he can't get to it because he has something "more urgent" going on. I pressed and he reluctantly showed up, but says he doesn't need to do anything because it's "not supposed to rain until next Wednesday anyway". This leak started 3 months ago...

I live paycheck to paycheck and make too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to save money. I have no extra subscriptions or anything, still barely getting by. A huge portion of my paycheck goes to health insurance so I can have access to the meds I need for my auto immune issues. I can't afford to live somewhere else, but at this rate don't know how long this place will even be safe to live in. I can't afford a lawyer or anything like that. The only idea I can come up with is having my kids stay with their dad's and grandparents while I get a storage shed and couch hop for a year or two while I put that would-be-rent money away.

Is there even a better option?

KEDPlasma Corpay buyout question.

I'm assuming this is happening at all locations, but my city is specifically being screwed over by this since we don't have 7-Eleven. I go to KEDPlasma as it's the better paying option near me, but their Fintwist cards were recently taken over by Corpay. The issue is that none of the ATMS work anymore. Looking on their website, there isn't one within 200 miles of me. Not that won't charge me almost $10 total to withdraw anyway. I spent an hour on the phone with Corpay this morning and the bank they recommended I try didn't work either. It tells me to take my card and just says "thank you for banking with us", that's it. I called the center and the manager I talked to said they haven't even been notified of the change and was confused. So how TF do I get my money out?? Is anyone else in an area without the right ATMs or is it literally just this location?

Are Debit cards, Checking accounts and Savings accounts being affected by the merge?

I'm confused. I keep seeing posts about Cap1 buying Discover and everyone's accounts changing, but I can't tell if it's just credit cards or if the entire company of Discover is going away. I've had no notifications or changes. I don't have any credit cards through them, just my regular bank accounts and debit card. When I look at offers, I still get offered the secured credit card as if it's a relevant offer. So is it going away or not? I'm considering getting the secured card as a credit builder, but not if it's just going to go away.

How do I know if a refund is legitimate or a fraud attempt?

I woke up to this refund from what I'm assuming (if it's real) is TicketMaster. The issue is that I haven't used TM since October 2025. I DID sell the tickets back then and don't remember getting the money. I wrote it off as a lost cause and looking into it, can't find any cases of them taking 8 months. I just don't know if it's that or if I should report it.

Is this a TicketMaster refund?

I woke up to a refund in my account for something. I haven't purchased a ticket through them since October 2025. I did sell those tickets back then. I honestly don't remember if I ever got the money back then. But I don't imagine I would've gotten it THIS late. Or is this some kind of fraud attempt? It isn't letting me post a picture of it, but the merchant name is "Tm resaletm resale706"

New Chime cards may not work with a Square.

I tried using my new card to buy snacks and the tablet they used had a Square reader. It was declined and gave me this message. Just posting in case it's a common thing y'all know you're not the only one. It said the issue was the CVV, but you don't even type that in for these readers, so I'm not sure why it would say it. Just FYI, the new cards may not work at these places.

What do I do about an unknown account suddenly appearing on my Experian page?

What do I do if an unfamiliar loan showed up on my account? I have never heard of "Upgrade Inc.", and I've definitely never gotten a loan from them. I don't log in to check my credit often, so am I too late to dispute it? There's an on-time payment on it, so should I just let them do their thing? How to prevent more accounts from being opened under me? I've never had this happen. You can't just change your social security number, so how do you keep people from doing this?

Steps I've taken:

So far, I've filed a dispute with Experian and directly emailed Upgrade. I'm not sure what else to do.

Best site for to find shoes for wide feet?

I found a post from years ago that suggested Demonia, but have heard the quality has gone down. I wear an 8 wide in men's as women's wide are still too narrow for me. I would like quality shoes or boots that I can wear casually that won't squeeze my feet. Any suggestions are appreciated!

If it helps, my usual outfits are shorts with fishnets and a band T. Unless it's winter then it's pants with a band T. 😂 I am not fashion savvy and don't know what style fits best with it.

Where can I look if Ravelry doesn't have any projects I like for the yarn I have?

When I'm done with this cardigan, I'm going to have almost two full cakes of Hobbii Cozy Cake yarn. I tried Ravelry's search to find projects for that specific yarn, but none of them are resonating. I have some shawl patterns I haven't made yet. Do you think that yarn would be okay made into that? Or is there another site like Ravelry with other options? Please no Etsy or Pinterest.

Second guessing trying to recreate my old style for a concert. Is it all in my head?

I wasn't sure if this was the right flare or of "older scene kid" was better, haha. So I haven't been actively "scene" in a long time. I'm seeing BrokeNCYDE tomorrow and wanted to go all out, but after starting my hair cut and trying some of the makeup, I'm second guessing if maybe I'm really just too old or don't have the right face. I'm so masculine and angular and don't have "cute" features, so I feel like it's not going with any of the bright colors I'm planning. This picture is incomplete. I clearly don't have the right outfit or accessories on yet and I plan on dying my hair later tonight. I just want some thoughts on if 29 is way too old to even be trying scene with such a weird face. 🥲
