Touchscreen not working on HP Elitebook 845 G8

I recently bought an elitebook 845 g8 from a seller.

When I went to buy it, the 845 g8 had a non-touch panel and its plastic bezels were peeling. I pointed it to the seller and he told that he can change the whole top lid with some other similar unit.

There weren't any other better one's, so I took an elitebook 840 g7 which had an i7 10th gen and he swapped the whole top lid with the screen.

Later when I paid for it and all, did he spot that he had mistakenly replaced the lid with a touchscreen one from the 840 g7.

But the touchscreen isn't working on this panel now installed on my 845 g8. Display works alright otherwise.

Is it something hardware related or maybe a BIOS block?

Hello people!

I have a seller who is offering a Thinkpad P50 with the following specs:

  1. i7 6820HQ
  2. Nvidia Quadro M1000M 2gb VRAM
  3. 8gb ram
  4. 500 gb ssd
  5. FHD display with 45% NTSC

I talked with him and he was willing to trade it with my Dell latitude 7490 which has an i5 8250u with 8gb ram and 256gb ssd.

However my latitude is a touchscreen panel and also has a 100% SRGB. Also it's battery is at 50% health, so I keep it plugged in all the time.

I am however concerned about the life of the P50. It is already 10+ years old at this point and I fear it might fail anytime.

Do you guys think it's worth the trade? I was looking for a bit more power for my daily video call meetings + programming and maybe a bit of light gaming on some older titles.

Update:

The seller says the P50 is sold sigh...

My only other option for a decent one is L14 gen 2 i5 1135G7. But from the reviews, it seems it runs way too hot [also due to having only 1 heat pipe].

Plus I doubt its a big jump from 8th gen to 11th gen intel.

I had booked an airtel xstream fiber connection by paying 1500 rs on 27th april [2 days back] and got it installed the same day. It worked alright for that day but then on 28th april, it went down at around 1am-2am. Since then it isn't working yet. The technician came and went saying some fault in main line.

I keep calling the airtel helpline and those people keep pestering me to not cancel it or say to give the connection to someone else. They also say that if I cancel it now, I won't get any refund of 1500 rs as its a new connection and those are advance rental charges.

They keep making me wait for 30 mins - 1 hr per call and still there is no resolution. I am tired of this. Now they are saying that the main line got burnt down and keep giving the excuse that "it will come in a few hours please wait".

Is it possible to cancel it and get the 1500 back?
