“Olivia Cooke has admitted that not all of her encounters with fans of House Of The Dragon have been positive ones.

The British actor plays Alicent Hightower in the Game Of Thrones, who has proved to be one of the show's most polarising figures.

During a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Olivia explained how she has grown to become "protective" of Alicent as time has gone on.

"I have to be empathetic, and I feel fucking sorry for her," she said. "I feel she's grown up into this patriarchal system and she's been brainwashed by her father to honor this lineage." 

As a result, Olivia revealed that when she meets fans of the show, it can sometimes be a challenge when they're less understanding about her character.

"They'll take a picture, and then they'll be like: 'We HATE your character!'," she revealed. "Sometimes people do say that with a lot of malice."

Olivia added: "[Alicent has] really stirred up a lot of feelings. It's odd to be on the receiving end of that as someone who has only ever tried to convey her with as much complexity as possible."

Elsewhere in the interview, Olivia recalled some of the more personal abuse she's received from viewers.

Honestly makes me very sad re reading this, I really hope she knows how much Alicent means as a character to so many different people!

In the books Rhaenyra earning the moniker feels pretty weak and kinda hyperbolic. Sure, she’s awful and terrible. Trying to execute Nettles, turning on her allies, taxing the peasantry, all very bad things. But she isn’t really Maegor level bad.

Maegor once destroyed an entire house because he suspected his wife from that house to be cheating on him, had his evil witch bride torture that wife for 12 days with methods so horrific that historians refuse to document it, and then dismembered her corpse and stuck it on his castle.

Rhaenyra is just not at all close to that. Shes paranoid and a bad queen and human being sure but shes not that extreme

In the show though Rhaenyra does alot more to earn it. She tortures Helaena, kills the High Septon, goes crazy infront of everyone and proclaims a holy war, the comparison feels more earned for me in the show

don’t get me wrong it feels a lot better than before but it’s way weaker than jubilee and honestly without the enhancement it’s pretty mid, the bursts provide more consistent and quicker damage it’s use cases feel niche

Even if just for a moment in their childhood or a fleeting instance as adults, was there ever even some amount of love and compassion on either end towards the other?

i know tyrion initially never wished her ill and even tried to comfort her when she was crying, but did Cersei ever have any kind of sympathy or love for him?

from what I’ve gathered Elia was Dorne’s princess Diana. she was beloved by her people and her family and the dornish men brooded over her demise. It wouldve been cool to see her interact with the small folk and see what exactly makes her so popular, especially since we have like no idea on Dornish smallfolk other than the orphans of the greenblood

im hopeful that at the very least she’ll get some buffs and especially tweaks to her strange team up. to my understanding wanda mains have been vocal about the weaknesses in her teamups specifically and on a stats level Wandas WR has suffered from the most out of anyone from these recent changes to the point she’s teetering on throw pick territory

as for a rework, though id love one, Im doubtful they have anything for her unless there’s been something planned since a few seasons ago (which could be possible since she’s gone a few seasons without buffs but I doubt they worked on her and widows rework simultaneously it doesn’t seem very egalitarian) so im not expecting one to come this patch

at the bare minimum im expecting at the very least a buff to her strange teamup

I just recently finished breaking bad (10/10, amazing) and I recently got into the fandom. Skylar and Hank were my fav characters and I assumed most people would either like Skylar or just have no opinion on her but then I learnt Skylar was absolutely DESPISED by the general fandom

I just can’t really see why? sure in some scenes she can be a bit overbearing but I mean she’s a woman who found out her husband is enthralled in a drug conspiracy, what can you do but act the same way she did?

currently away on vacation so not able to play rivals Rn :(( can someone catch me up on how’s she different this game mode and if there r any hints of a rework?
