"New" bottle of engine ice leaves a weird film on bottle.
This normal? The blue kind doesn't do it and neither does the supposedly same stuff in the different style bottle. Looks like an old bottle style and seems off.

Anyone tried them? Opinions? They're only like $5-10 more and sound like they would hold up better. Over hyped?
On a related note. Anyone know the diameter of the steering stem jam nuts? I have the tools for it to loosen it but not sure if I want to make a custom socket for the torque or what yet.
Been feeling a clunk recently and was worried the steering head was failing. Put the bike on the stand and started pulling on parts just to find the wheel moves slightly. Went up to the middle of the fork on the aluminum tube and feel nothing. Go back down to the bottom of the fork and now I suddenly feel movement. Put my hands on the upper and lower tubes and now I can feel the lower tube shifting in the upper tube. Bushings were done this year and have less than 5k miles on them. Same shop gave me the run-around on the brand new fork tubes being scratched worse than the originals after replacing them so I know they are going to be dicks about it.
Came up with this ~10 years ago and still holding strong. $2 pack of cable clips. Not once ever come close to falling out or breaking and slots in like it was made to be.
It's chain time ladies and gentlemen!
Trying to diagnose an intermittent long crank. 2016 fz09 almost 14k miles.
Main question is: is an injector leaking or is the pressure drop normal?
Bike has new battery that has been tested, new plugs, fuel pump (fixed the fuel level reading), fuel line, and pressure regulator (fuel economy seemed to improve), new O2 sensor (old one got damaged) but NOT new injectors. It will run fine after starting and will immediately start seconds after the first attempt and have no problems until it sits for extended periods of time. The battery voltage hasn't dropped while sitting.
Bike builds pressure up to ~45psi (according to my gauge at least) then starts to slowly drop immediately when the pump stops or the key is turned off. It will slowly drop to zero over the course of maybe 30 minutes and did all this before the new parts.
Bike has some soot on the exhaust but apparently that happens with this model so no idea what to make of that.
Score stands at 10 year old custom spark plug socket 5, compression tester shenanigans 0.
And damn is she happy. All 3 cylinders 170+ psi.
What tool do you guys like/prefer? I know there are decent sets for $100-200 and have no problem paying that, but for the sake of curiosity is there a cheaper way? I've ground chains off in the past but don't like the mess it makes with magnetized shavings all over.
Looking for a good place to buy an HP laptop battery that is trustworthy.
My mother brought this home after my grandmother's funeral. Trying to find out more about it. I'm assuming the UV test shows it's real? Lead swab test didn't give me anything but not sure if it would anyway.
Dimensions are .190x.325x.4 inches.
Looking for a way to connect a usb drive to a DB25 port on the back of an old CNC machine.
As far as I'm aware I will need a powered adapter for the USB but is there a device that handles the actual file transfer or port conversion?
I'm assuming this is a good place to ask but if not any advice on where to look would be helpful.
Thanks!
Anyon know a good fan upgrade? It's been hot here and even when it's not it still gets hot in traffic and requires time to let cool.
Interested in ecu flash eventually but I want something cheaper sooner.
Coolant is new engine ice.
Ice packs in the pockets.
Anyon have an opinion on the dragon or LS2 in general?
Sat on a the first mt09 (a gen 4 sp) I've been on other than my gen 1 and nothing would convince me to buy it. I'm sure the ride is fine but to get on a bike and immediately feel nothing if not an immediate dislike of the shape, feel and overall look of nothing but plastic and bulk, I don't feel great about it.
There's no rawness aside from the square egdes feeling unfinished and uncomfortable. There's no naked bike feel because all you see when seated is plastic. Where's the hard metal and polished surfaces that makes you feel like you're riding a seat strapped to an engine that somebody took the time to make fit a human body? How do you make a big beautiful engine look like a cheap toy?
First thing I did was try to adjust the mirrors and one just flopped out of position like it was already broken. Seat was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever been on. Screen is somehow even further out of view. The ignition feels and loos like an old washing machine dial. The plastics don't add to the appearance if anything they detract from the looks. The swingarm looks like it came from a chinese knock-off. Everything looks and feels cheap.
I don't get it. It's like they tried to make a naked into a race bike and completely lost the plot. I think the sales guy even knew how disappointed I was because he kind of just gave me slow nod as I left.
Anyone know what fuel line connectors yamaha uses? I have ones that fit the 7.89mm diameter but the male connections to the pump and fuel rail are longer than that standard size. I'm trying to test pressure but can't get the gauge to stay on or not leak long enough to get a proper reading. Thought about buying new line that comes with the connectors but it's $65 which seems ridiculous for a part I'm going to cannibalize.

Think I overpaid by $8 but not returning them.
