My [26f] boyfriend [29] excites me with domestic talk but I don't think I actually want it for real.....thoughts?

Why do I (26f) get so excited from my boyfriend(29m) talking all domestic with me?

I have never been traditional. I don't dream nor have I ever dreamed of babies or motherhood. I'd be completely happy if I never had kids still.

And yet, in my nearing 3 year relationship, lately hen my boyfriend starts talking about wanting a house for us, wanting to settle down with me, wanting to make me "wifey" and putting a bun in the oven and taking care of us both, and about making everyone know we're together for life.....I feel like I melt and like I want it so bad. It creates such a strange arousal within me I barely understand it...... He mentions how bad he wants to grow a family with me and more domestic shit like having me make him daddy to some hypothetical baby of ours..... Nothing else seemingly gets him to this plane of intensity either. His energy is crazy good the more we get into this talk too. There is a level of connection during intimacy when we start off talking like this that is hard to articulate.

It's gotten so bad that beginning these talks basically become foreplay to the both of us, not just me I swear!......I don't understand why I respond so strongly omg.

When I am separated from him, as we are mid distance, and when we have not been intimate, I feel I think more clearly. I don't think I want kids at all still. Im getting my dvm and have career plans too. So what gives? I don't think I want those things for myself but it's so crazy nice to fantasize when he prompts me.....

TLDR My boyfriend gets me turned on with the idea of a future I don't actually want and it's confusing.

How to be more punctual?

Hello! I always have had a hard time being super consistent with being on time. Sometimes I'll go into work at 8 am, I get there at 8:04. I go in at 9, I get there again by 9:05, when clearly I am capable of being earlier on a different day. What are some tricks or tips for this?

WSU application asks for course descriptions?

The WSU section on the VMCAS asks you to fill out course descriptions for the biomedical pre req courses. What do I put for these? Should I just look up the course description for the university where I took these courses?

Need advice on my list of programs?

I (25f) am applying for the first time to vet schools this year.

I decided because of tight financials to just do 4 programs. I have Kansas State, my in state CSU, Washington, Oregon, and UPenn.

I have 3k+ hours of clinical experience, in shelter medicine and general practice small animal med. I have worked CSR and tech positions. I have years of volunteering at humane societies/shelters. I have worked in retail, at a vision office, as a school instructor, and as a camp mentor for kids. I have some minor research experience. Ive worked with exotics at my current hospital too! Just not much in the large animal department, but I am working on that.

My GPA wasn't the best at 3.5 tho. But my last 45 showed improvement! I also am bilingual in Spanish and fortified it by studying it properly as a minor in undergrad and doing a certificate for Spanish for Animal Health.

I need input on which schools to focus on as my 4!

LOR issue? No response?

I asked a former lab coordinator I worked with in undergrad for a LOR back in May. She accepted and I sent her some documents to reference and the VMCAS submission link. I told her Id love all my LORs submitted by August 1st. I sent her a check in email on the 6th and then after weeks of nothing, another email 2 days ago. I made sure to be very respectful and approached it as just a check in, like seeing if writing the letter was still feasible.

I dont understand the lack of communication when she previously had agreed and was totally up for it it seemed! I am thinking of visiting the lab though this upcoming week to see if I can chat with her in person? Is that doing too much? I have one other person I am waiting on, so really I just need one more letter. I have 2 already, but its coming down to the final weeks and Im losing it.....

How late can I submit to be verified on time?

I was planning on finalizing everything for VMCAS and the supplementals by the 10th of September. Would that be okay??

Is love enough? How to get through a long distance relationship.....

I (25f) have been dating my boyfriend (29m) since February '24. He moved 3.5 hours away around May because of a new job he took on.

Ive seen him once in June, once in July, and now it looks like we wont get to see each other until September. He was supposed to come this weekend so we could go to the fair, but he never submitted pto and now his team has started being on call some weekends. This is a new development as of the last 2 weeks. His coworker took this weekend off ages ago so by default hes on call and cant come now even though he kept saying he could as recently as 2 days ago. It was the one weekend I told him loads about all summer because I wanted to go to the fair together.

Im so disillusioned and disappointed. I love him, but this is so hard. I miss him terribly, but also feel some awful form of resentment about all this. It feels like now we will hardly spend time together, with no actual end date in sight. Im applying to vet school, and god willing I get in, I may have to move out of state or beyond next year making it even harder.

What advice do yall have to keep connected and feeling like this will actually work out?

I'm (24f) having a hard time with being long distance with my boyfriend (29m) of 2.5 years. Whats helped yall in LDRs?

Ive been dating my boyfriend for about 2.5 years now. We lived as neighbors for about 8 months, since I moved into his apartment complex last summer. It was great. We really got to spend a lot of time together, but we still had our own spaces.

In May, he moved 3 hours away though, because of a new job he had to take. His previous contract with his old job was changed and he didn't want to stay with them anymore. His job search was difficult for 2 months, but he got an offer doing basically the same thing for a competitor company just 3 hours away. He ended up taking it since he thought it'd be worth it and he didn't see any other better offers coming soon.

All to say, its been a difficult transition to a long-ish distance relationship. Im a full time vet tech and cant just take here and there off. We've been together a total of 4 times this summer from May til now. Now it looks like we wont get a chance to see each other til September. I feel very very sad and disillusioned

Hed reassured me at the beginning of the summer that we would still get to do a lot together and it just didn't turn out that way.

Im applying to vet school too, so there's a chance I will move out of state at some point too.....so there is seemingly no end in sight.

Does this get better ? Will I adjust to this feeling soon enough? How do other LDRs manage it?

On Apri combo ocp, and having spotting!

Hello! Im 25f! Hx of irregular , heavy, painful periods since I was young and prior to any birth control. Susp some kind of pmos or other condition.

Been on my ocp Apri since last January 2025. I've been taking it continuous since like May. Its been 6 weeks since I took a break. I was feeling very tight/tender in my lower abdomen today and even some upset stomach stuff. Then later noticed I was spotting some brown and even a bit red.

Is there any way to stop this or make it better? Why suddenly spotting after only 6 weeks? I have gone up to 9 weeks between breaks before too!

Its so annoying! I have a weekend trip to see my boyfriend who lives a bit far now and trying to figure out how to get through it without taking a break now. Should I double up on pills for a day or two ?

Reflections ....self image, pregnancy, fence sitting or not..

Ive never been fond of the idea of having kids. It always seemed like something best left to other people more selfless than I could be.

People say I'll change my mind at some point. Its been years and I've never gotten even a hint of baby fever. Sometimes though, I would think if only I could just skip the pregnancy and the baby stage....start from 4 years old haha. Then just maybe ! After all, I don't dislike kids!

Unfortunately I have a history of disordered eating and of fixating a lot on my appearance and body condition. I've come a long way from my worst though. I do take care of myself. Watching when I indulge. Working out - but to improve fitness and not to lose weight now....

I fear I care too much about my body and have too much residual self image issues that couks surface that the risks of pregnancy are too great. Mothers are amazing truly. But I don't think I am selfless enough to be able to look at my body if it got distorted terribly from something I chose to do and still be okay with it....

All bodies change and grow of course. That's natural and inevitable. But what pregnancy has the potential to do, and what I've seen it do to women's bodies, is something I don't feel I could get over when it came to my own body. For that alone, I feel kids is just not in the cards for me. Never mind the other reasons too.

If I could somehow be certain I could get at least close to what it was before, maybe then Id feel better about it. But the thought of gaining 100+ lbs, losing my hair, losing my core strength, and all the other things are enough to make me think better not.....

First timer application woes....

Hello! I am 25f applying to vet schools for the first time. Graduated with my Zoology bachelor's and a Spanish minor 2 years ago. I chose to do my Spanish minor so I could feel confident with the language and be able to use it professionally in the field and use it to connect with my community, as it is my first language. I just had never formally been taught it in schools or anything. Anyways, total gpa at 3.48. Unfortunately, I did have like 3 Cs in my last 45. At this point I have near 2k hours clinical/vet guided experience as a general practice vet assistant and as a clinic intern at a shelter. About 500 hours of non vet animal experience at shelters and pet sitting. I've worked retail, at a vision office, as a camp counselor, an an after school kids club instructor. Worked at an Amazon warehouse overnights as my first job at 18. I was part of a research training internship for 3 months in undergrad. As for my recommendation letters, I have 3 guaranteed, 2 I am going to ask for soon. One is from the vet Im currently working with, one from my mentor tech at my first intern position, one from my advisor in the research internship. The other two are likely coming from the front desk supervisor at my last clinic who I worked closely with and my current hospital practice manager who used to be a tech.

Any help? Any guidance?

Im anxious about my shortcomings this first time due to my gpa. Though I have mostly made peace with the idea that I'll just apply again and again and get more experience until it is my time.

Top schools: CSU, WSU, OSU, KSU ......

I(25f) love my boyfriend (29m) but Im worried about his stance on kids lately.

I (25f) don't want kids to preface. And my boyfriend(29m) of 2+ years always knew that.....Hed said it wasnt ever something he prioritized or weighed heavily. But lately he seems to joke about having one one day or how he thinks if it were with me, it would be really cute. He said I made him think it would be nice to have....

I may have blurred the lines with some talk along those lines in the bedroom, to my own surprise too as I never thought I'd enjoy that kind of fantasy.

Now I never seem to get if hes just kidding or playing into that illusion or if somehow now he really does like the idea. He says he'd be fine without it happening. But he seems to keep teasing about it, how cute they could be and whatnot. Even when I approach the topic seriously, mind you!

But I never actually truly meant it! I said some things that would imply I liked the idea of having a baby with him, but it was just for fun and intimately. I just loved how passionate he got for me the more we got into it. It wss sweet.....but was it a mistake to play into it in the bedroom but never actually have changed my mind about really wanting them? Can being with me really have brought out these feelings within him? Were they always there? Im a good partner but I have never shown qualities to make someone think I'd somehow be a good mother omg

Am I screwed?

My (25f) boyfriend (29m) jokes about having kids?

I never wanted to have kids. This wasn't something ever hidden from my boyfriend though, as it was something I brought up on date #3. He said he never prioritized that in his life nor weighed it heavily. He said he'd be fine if that never happened.

Flash forward 2 years and I think I may have blurred some lines for him.

During intimacy, I have somehow found the idea of him knocking me up quite exciting. We explored that a bit more but to me I was always thinking it was a kink thing, like forbidden fruit.

Now tho, he likes to bring up having a baby with me and how cute it would be. He says he never thought about it until he found me.

Im so concerned on how to approach this. I love him dearly but Im scared somehow he got it into his head that I want kids when I still don't. I thought we both just leaned into the idea for the passion of it all. I always loved how sweet he would talk to me in bed when that came up.....but I never really changed my mind though. What can I do now?
