2 months from H to Low?

This is my son’s 5610, he’s 9 years old. Spends lots of time outside. Recently even a week long “survival” camp last week. Today he took it off for Football practice and I saw the LOW flashing indicator in the date window. We charged it to H after 2 days in direct sunlight at the end of May. So it’s been a bit more than 6 weeks, it’s my understanding, even if he was in a cave with no sunlight the battery wouldn’t drain this fast. But he has the auto illumination on and uses the features periodically. The watch is about 1.5 years old.

Is this typical?

Thanks in advance for the insight.

I need some Lumeologist help

What is a comparable lume to Rolex’s Chromalight? I know Rolex use to use Super-LumiNova. But I was once an ink chemist formulating dispersions for the industrial printing market as well as an engineer designing printers for the ID and financial markets. So I know they aren’t creating their own phosphorescent pigments. At most, they are creating a finished formulation using their own binder, dispersant, ect. So there has to be a comparable lume on the market that likely uses their exact same Phosphorescent pigment.

I really like how I can wake up at 5am without doing anything to charge the lume on my Submariner the night before and it’s perfectly legible. I would love find some lower cost field watches with the same lume performance.

Pic for attention
