Is it normal to render at 4096 samples when using volumetrics in an animation?

I have a large scene with a volumetric cube for fog and when I try rendering with less than 4096 samples the video is a bit fuzzy. It’s fine when using a very high sample count. I’m still learning so I’m just curious if this is normal. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Added some paint behind my Diver patch :)

I was looking at the blank white backpack behind the patch and had to add some appropriate scenery.z

Unsure what it means, but I live it routinely

I read all the time and live it consistently!

Had a dream in Mall World last night…image not related.

I was driving in a car with my wife at night. We were in what seemed like an extremely run down neighborhood. Old brick buildings, most were barely standing. There were not any people but after driving for some time we found ourselves inside of an extremely large mall. It was well lit, but somehow still dim. I remember passing some restrooms and thinking they were too messy to use. I remember passing a department store that had Backrooms wallpaper on the walls in the back of the store. I woke up before I could explore more, but it was a fascinating dream.
Just curious if anyone else has been through the run down neighborhood and if it led them to the mall. Thanks for your time.

Hmmm…what would make this single hand stand out? Oh yeah, The Ice Truck killer’s gift to Dexter.

Had to make the hand on my work desk more interesting. I think this works.

Made a Dreamcore song to go with my Meow Wolf trip montage. :)

I plan on extending the song and adding (a lot) more video and a bunch of pics. This was from a trip my wife and I took in April (2026). We went to Omega Mart in Las Vegas, House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe, and Convergence Station in Denver all in one road trip. More to come.

Warped time stamp

I’m trying to make an effect that makes the entire song (all tracks) sound like it’s on a warped record with the time slightly dragging in and out of the time stamp. Any suggestions?

I started an AI YouTube channel and completely scrapped and abandoned it to learn CGI

As the title states I had started an AI YouTube channel (the name is not important, because fuck AI) and scrapped it and abandoned it to learn actual 3D animation. I struggled to learn Blender but I was determined to keep going and it was worth it IMO. My first real CGI video has over 21k views in the past 4 months. I understand 21k isn’t anything extremely substantial but it does keep me wanting to create more content. I am new to this subreddit and I hope this post doesn’t get pulled down. Just wanted to come here to say, “Fuck AI!”

*Edit: I just checked and it’s been 6 months since I posted my first 3D animated video, not 4 months. Still excited though! :)

I walk by this room 20 times a shift (usually at night). It reminds me of yet another horrible corner of The Backrooms every single time.
