best ways to respond to “are you a boy or a girl”

Hello, unfortunately I get hit with this one a lot. Answering “i’m a boy” just makes these people braver and say weirder shit. Is there anything snarky I could say back that sorta avoids answering?

does “girl code” still exist or is that creepy and weird now?

I think “girl code” is the right term for it but idk. Basically I saw a girl who was beginning to bleed through her pants, I was with a group of friends so mentioned i’d go say something (bc I had to leave them to do so). It was my cis guy friends and they were like bro you can’t go do that, that’s weird now it makes the girl uncomfortable. And like I kinda get it but I’d want somebody to tell me if i was bleeding through my pants. What’s been your experience or thoughts?

grindr etiquette on being inexperienced

Is it generally the move to let people know I’m a virgin before I meet up with them? I feel like it’s kinda a mood killer but I don’t know if it’s important. Clearly I’ll perform like somebody who’s never sd but I don’t know if it’s something I need to say or the other person would appreciate hearing from me??

I keep coring the vials and it’s stopping me from taking T

Hello, I just started T and have been having so many issues with drawing. My pharmacy only carries 10ml of T so it’s supposed to be good for 5 months, FIVE MONTHS, but I’ve cored it TWICE and am on my third one (little over one month in) which is annoyingly expensive and i’m terrified to draw from it. I lasted about a month with the first but I had cored it on my first draw pretty badly so I was swelling up pretty bad on my injection sites cause I guess I was probably injecting bacteria, originally I thought it was allergy to carrier oil but it’s not.

I can’t keep doing this 😭 I’m wasting so much T and it’s expensive to refill I need some help, I keep watching videos about how to do it right and no matter what there’s a huge ass hole after I do anything. If i had the single use vials it would be fine but my pharmacy/pcp doesn’t carry them.

I feel like there is a disconnect between me and people who medically transitioned in middle school

(I posted this in another sub and got some nice replies but not a lot of agreeing and I feel like folks from this sub might share a similar opinion/experience to me so if it’s familiar that’s why.)

Hello, recently I started college. I am 18 years old and have been on T for about a month at this point, so I consider myself to be somebody who has transitioned/started transitioning young. It’s still very new to me but I also thought 18 was incredibly young to start hrt and that only a small handful of lucky folk started as teens.

I know that my area and region I grew up in was conservative and religious which definitely changes my perception of what’s “usual” in today’s day and age but I kinda figured there was basically nobody who got to transition as a minor?? Starting college has been a huge culture shock because i’ve met trans people irl for the first time EVER and involved myself in queer orgs for the first time EVER and every trans person transfem or transmasc has been on some form of hrt for 3/4 YEARS? I am very much behind them in this aspect and that’s been kinda hard to grasp because I wanted to build a trans community for myself but being around them makes me feel awful and behind.

Mostly it’s been everybody’s personal takes and opinions on being trans that’s just been dividing me. All of their parents pay for hrt and surgery, and they have supportive families so we have just lived wildly different lives. Today’s discussion ended up being a conversation about how being trans is a spiritual change and a beautiful outside the box identity that means you’re more connected to the universe or something ? 😭 And I loved that they truly believed that to be their experience and spoke about it so nicely but I will never be able to agree with that.

I feel like maybe had I been able to go on blockers at 11 and then hrt around 13 I might view it the same way? But I had to wait 7 years and work for 5 of them to save money while knowing the second I come out I am disowned. I view my transness and my dysphoria as a mental condition because that’s what it feels like for me, I don’t think you need to have dysphoria or anything like that I guess but I don’t see it as a spiritual quirky identity. Everytime I am dysphoric it’s mental pain and I truly think I am medicating a mental illness, I don’t see it otherwise. Maybe if I had been able to medicate the illness at a young age I’d think of it as a quirky self identity but i’ve had to live in misery and watch myself mutilate so I guess I don’t. They just have this whimsical viewpoint on something that’s literally ruined my life and i’m struggling so hard here. I don’t think I can be around them but I want community so badly.

How do I ungracefully quit my job at Ross??

Manager literally pterodactyl screeched at me today over something stupid and I don’t need this job I just wanted some extra cash before college. All the other jobs i’ve worked you emailed the manager but I can’t find any Ross emails.. obviously i’d prefer to email but if the answer is calling them let me know. As much as i’ve hated this job I’m not gonna just ghost them, but I will forgo the two weeks.

weird terms (4chan?) that are popular in transfem communities but not transmasc

Recently I was having a very pleasant discussion with a trans woman in a comment section on tiktok, towards the end she referred to me as a “he/him medically transitioning pooner” instead of just… a trans male on hrt or something?? There was multiple people involved in the thread and most were trans women or transfem because that’s what the video was about and none of them replied or thought it was weird or anything like that?? I used to have twitter so I know there’s popular terms like hon and sneed and all that… stuff and I don’t really see trans men having equivalents or using them but idk if i’m just not in those spaces. But it was just such a weird way to refer to me and like.. nobody else thought it was weird because I guess it’s normalize to speak like that in transfem spaces?? Is this true? I’m trying to figure out how I feel about being referred to that way and I just wanna know more about terms like this and why and who uses them??

Ramineni or Eidelson at District Plastic Surgery in DC

I have the option to schedule a consultation with one of the two, i’ve seen good reviews from both but neither have pictures up of their work unless i’m just missing it. Eidelson looks like she is very new and i’m not sure that’s the route I want to take BUT nobody is saying her work reflects her being new so I don’t know. I have consultations with two other surgeons so these aren’t the end all be all it’s just they’re at the same practice and only letting me do one of them, and I am shopping around for the best person for me. Thanks!

FWS with Step Up tutoring or User Services Student Assistant at the Library

I was just wondering if anyone has experience with those jobs and can help me out. I’ve gotten offers from both, Step Up is community service so my FWS funds would be raised to 6,000 as opposed to 5,000 if I took that one. But I want to go into a career like archiving or something in library science, or just maybe something that working with librarians and inside of a library might help me gain connections for. But I also want to maximize my FWS and an entire 1,000 more is a LOT of money, my parents just keep pointing out I want a career related to or in the same spheres as library stuff so it might not be smart to turn it down. I guess I don’t prefer one over the other as both seem chill and personally rewarding i’m just wondering if anyone here has worked with either of them and can give me some insight? Thank you.

How i feel after getting scheduled 6 hours under my usual so I call out one day so they maliciously schedule me on my day off for a super long shift and i get my hours so i can afford my life

i’m only at this job to save up for surgery plus i’m quitting next week so it’s temporary, i’ve never encountered maliciously made schedules until this job tho. everybody hates everybody at least at starbucks my managers and coworkers genuinely loved working there so it was fun as hell.

How much T should I try to take to college?

I just started T so I don’t know how long my viles usually last and i’m kinda fumbling around and have definitely taken more/less then my prescribed dose multiple times cause i’m new. I have a 10mL and I currently take .3ml, I just started July 8 so basically the entire bottle is still in there. I’m wondering if I should try and contact my PCP about taking another vile to college because it might be complicated to pick it up while there? I tried to talk to them about setting up a place to pick it up after I ran out while I was there picking it up for the first time and the front desk lady was confused and just said “You’d come here?” to which I explained i’m leaving for college soon, and she just said that it will be awhile until I need the next dose but she was misunderstanding a lot of other things I was saying (my name, what my appt was for, questions about how to access labs) so I think maybe she was just having a bad day or something 😭😭 Anyway i’m asking if it’s worth contacting my doctor directly about taking a second vile to college or if i’ll be fine for the foreseeable future? How much would you recommend I have on hand I guess?

work study jobs

Hello, I am confused about work study jobs. I’ve been on Handshake since late June and I really only qualify for like.. 15 jobs. And it’s only showing 30 existing? A lot that fall under the work study filter are internships or graduate student jobs. There’s no way that’s enough for the entire student body. I know they aren’t guaranteed but i’m applying to every single one I qualify for and i’m really nervous nothing is going to work out. Am I going about this wrong?? Thank you for any help 🙏

First T shot was great, second one hurt like a bitch

Hey all, I posted last week when I started T about being afraid I had done it wrong because I was just going off of videos and fumbling my way through, but I ended up seeing some bottom growth so I definitely did it right ! Today was my second shot, and it hurt SO BAD. My first shot I didn’t even feel a prick, no pain, no feeling, no NOTHING. And that was me fumbling about never done it before never even touched a needle? This time I was more confident but gah dam that was painful😭😭 . I didn’t bleed either times but for this second time I do see a hole where it’s clear I injected, the first time there was nothing on my skin after? What could I have done differently this time and how do I prevent that? I injected in the same spot cause it’s the only place i’ve found where i can really grab my skin. Like I’ll do all the numbing hacks ive seen if I need to but the first time was just so perfect 😭.

How do you pronounce the word wolf/wolves

I’ve been getting a lot of slack for how I say it, a lot of looking down on me and rude corrections. I haven’t been saying its regional pronunciation because idk if I am just pronouncing it wrong…but if it’s accent I wanna know because then that’s just different and theres no right or wrong. Same I guess for the word milk. I’m from southeastern wv and my family is from central wv if it maters, i’ve been living outside of appalachia thats why idk if it’s regionally specific. I’ll edit this with how I say it later i’m just curious if somebody will come up with my pronunciation without me saying it first. Thanks :)

EDIT: woof, wooves

I have this bad feeling that I did my T shot wrong

I had my first t shot today 🎉 but I feel like I did it wrong. I don’t know how to explain it, like it was too easy and then my skin is just harder so was barely pinching it and I really hope I did it right but im so scared i’m gonna keep doing it wrong and fuck this up for myself.

Train i’m riding tmr is canceled up until right before my stop - Is this reason for worry?

Hoping the title makes sense, the train im riding is canceled through 21 stops but scheduled as normal for 9 stops after, mine is stop 5 so it’s 5 off the last canceled stop. Is this reason to worry they may cancel on me and I need to arrange other ways to go where I’m supposed to go? Or is this sorta normal with amtrak. Thank you in advance!

EDIT: Okay….. sorry it’s my first time being anywhere near a train 😭 it’s Train 67 and i’m getting on at Ashland and riding it into richmond main street station. Before you ask why I didn’t just uber, uber cost $60 and amtrak cost $9 😭 .

How do I know which side of the tracks to be on? - Ashland, VA

I'm going to be riding a train into Richmond from Ashland, are there signs or announcements that state the side of the tracks? People say to watch for it to come then switch tracks but what if there is a freight train and I can't do that? I am a little nervous tbh any advice would be appreciated.
