Is the 9070xt really worth it over the non xt 9070?
For the extra 100w it demands to achieve roughly 14% performance difference is it worth it? In the UK right now you gan get the 9070 for £519 and the xt vareint for £596 which is about a 14 percent price difference so it matches up the price to performance, but is it worth it?

Lower your frequency to push your undervolt even further.
When you push an undervolt it will raise the frequency which is why you often get better performance however if you push an undervolt too far you get instability and crashes. If you lower your frequency you can push the undervolt even further without crashing as it will stop the clocks from rising too much. I managed to get to -110 undervolt on my 9070 by setting the frequency to -350. The clocks still sit in-between 2800-2900 range but now at much lower temps and my wattage has went down by 20w.
My very first pc build I've gone all AMD! Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon 9070. Very happy!!
Are Acer GPU's okay to buy?
I've heard a lot of bad rep on forums over Acer GPU's how ever the build in this seems very good compared to other 9070's I have seen and it's also an overclocked variant and cheaper than most.
What measures are dorna going to take to help the grid get back to being competitive?
With MotoGP getting a full change up in 2027 with ride height devices being banned completely and reduced aero and the new 850cc engines to help stabilise and reset the grid what measures will wsbk introduce to stop the current Ducati cup we have going on if any? I can't find any information on it apart from more rev limits being applied?
I usually go to donington park every year but chose to go to Silverstone this year because of how boring the grid is in wsbk this year, however I was reminded of how terrible off a spectator venue Silverstone is and just the atmosphere in general being way worse than doni park. I really hope wsbk can get back to being intriguing to watch again.
Using this overclock on my b570 took my FPS from 63fps average in black flag resynced to 70fps average.
I did try and push even further but I got little gains and instability issues and crashes. If your card supports a higher power limit then mine then maybe you can push even further.
How will the b570 pair with the Ryzen 5 5600? Will it have overhead?
Honest opinions should I get the b570 or the 5050 with my CPU?
Thinking about doing a budget desktop build for 1080p high settings gaming, what's people's thoughts on this build?
I have a 5060 gaming laptop but it only feels right to play halo on my Xbox 🫠
i7-13620H bad frame pacing.
I got a laptop the other day and I was very impressed with it's overall performance but it had a weird issue where when ever I'd lock the FPS to 60fps it would hover around 58-59 FPS with terrible pacing despite the game getting low 80s when unlocked. GPU utilization would be no more than around 72% on the 5050 GPU. Didn't matter if I used rtss, Nvidia app, or in game limiter to cap the fps they all resulted in the same bad pacing.
I went and picked up the same model off laptop but with a Ryzen 7 260 CPU instead and the Frame pacing issue is now totally gone
Is it worth paying an extra £130 for a 5060 laptop over a 5050 if they're both capped at 80w?
Both are gigabyte a16, same components bar screen on the 5060 is certified 99% srgb.
Asus tuf a16 advtange edition terrible laptop! DO NOT BUY.
I bought the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition (RX 7700S) expecting a solid mid-range gaming laptop, but after using it, I can confidently say it is a bad laptop. On paper, the all-AMD hardware and features look great, but in practice, the software and driver ecosystem make actually playing games a miserable experience.
Key Issues:
The MUX Switch is Broken by Driver Timeouts:
The inclusion of a hardware MUX switch was one of the main selling points for me, as it’s supposed to boost frame rates by connecting the GPU directly to the display. In reality, toggling it or pushing the GPU in games leads to constant, relentless AMD driver timeouts. Your screen freezes, goes black, and crashes straight to the desktop mid-game. It ruins gaming sessions completely.
AMD Software (Adrenalin) is Buggy and Confusing:
The AMD software suite is a headache to navigate. The interface feels clunky, options are buried, and it frequently fails to maintain stable settings. Instead of enhancing performance, Adrenalin feels like it constantly fights against the laptop's power profiles and Windows itself.
Armoury Crate Pushes Outdated Drivers:
ASUS’s official control center, Armoury Crate, is useless when it comes to keeping the machine updated. It serves up ancient GPU drivers and fails to sync proper updates. This leaves you stranded, forced to scavenge the internet, Reddit threads, and obscure forum posts just to find driver packages that won't immediately crash your system.
Final Verdict
If you want a laptop where you spend more time manually hunting for working drivers, tweaking software settings, and recovering from crashes than actually playing games, this is the machine for you. Otherwise, steer clear. The hardware potential of the RX 7700S is completely crippled by broken software integration and terrible software support and I recommend just sticking with Nvidia for windows.
I have both the Xbox ally and x variant and the Ally X is going back.
720p is fine for this tiny screen and once we're at that Resolution the performance difference isn't enough to justify the extra price. I tested auto sr and it's terrible, buggy to get working then when it does work it has a huge input delay worse than frame generation. Black flag resynced averaged 36fps on my base Xbox ally and only 42 FPS on my ally X with the exact same settings.
Why are AMD so weird with their support? Why is fsr4 not just available on rdna3 and rdna2 given that we know it works?
I can see why the pc space prefers Nvidia not just for its superior upscaling but because they actually support their products. Of course we know fsr4 hasba performance hit but you can literally render it at about 30-40 percent less resolution than fsr3 and it'll still look better. I literally can't stand fsr3 thank god for intel off all people allowing everyone to use xess. Handheld gaming would look so much better with fsr 4
Ac black flag ray tracing with low settings Vs without ray tracing and high?
What's your preference? Personally playing on a mix of low/medium settings with ray tracing enabled.
Bazzite doesn't support dual GPU, igpu, dgpu switching.
Bazzite won't boot into gamescope game mode when laptop utilizes switching between igpu and dgpu. SteamOS ironically supports it perfectly. Really frustrating as I have an Asus tuf laptop running full AMD build and I know bazzite uses optimisations for Asus laptops. SteamOS has no specific optimisations but works perfectly however it requires the use off a tdp plugin
