Can I work in the field/research without a scientific diving qualification?

(UK based but open to international opinions too)

The uni I am planning to go to to study offers the HSE, but I have some health issues and the cost is prohibitive where I am, not to mention I live inland with no ability to do the practice dives required.

Ignoring issues like work experience and job shortages, can I reasonably get a job where I work on a boat without having that qualification? Can I get it later on?

Carbon based (like cardboard) occlupanid

Is this an evolutionary response to environmental plastic pollution?

On another note, I hardly ever see occlupanids here in the UK. Is their native range increasing or are they introduced? Or are they just a rare, but native, species here?

This plush toy bird from the ~mid 2000s

I think it's a swift but all searching just brings up this horrific Nickelodeon character. I remember the beak being hard plastic but that might be wrong. The fabric was short fur and kind of sparkly in the sun (polyester?)

Those on the train by cambs south howd you get off?

I was lucky enough to stop in the station and disembark fairly quickly, but there was a train 200m ahead stuck on the tracks and i'm highly curious, did you all get off okay? How long did it take?

I tried to change my title by deed poll, my GP said I couldn't change it on their records for medical reasons

Like I get not assuming that the patient you're seeing is male and then I have a uterus etc, but my gender marker isn't changed and I thought you could just change your title by deed?

Cat in our garden maybe has heatstroke, what can I do? **Not my cat**

I'm in the UK, so 35⁰C weather, I don't know how long it's been in the garden.

Tldr: cat with possible heat stroke

I can't seem to add a video but it's laying very still, only raising it's head. Seems to be an unneutered male, no collar. It's meowing very loudly and panting. It let me get close (slowly) and smelled my hand but then lashed out. I left some cool water out but it didn't drink and laid back down immediately and hasn't moved since. I'm just giving it some space right now.

There is a local vet I can call or the RSPCA but I don't know if it is actually heatstroke. I might give it a sachet of my cat's wet food for hydration.

Edit: I counted the breaths and it wasn't too fast, I put a cold towel down next to him and he came over and laid down on it. At about 7 he got up and jumped over my fence so it seems to be okay. If it comes back in the same state I will definitely phone the vet straight away and see if it is feral or a stray, but in the UK outdoor cats are common so I'm not assuming that just yet.

My gf and I have school prom in a week, what's a fun way to tie our outfits together?

I thought about matching my tie colour to her dress or something cute like that, but she's wearing a black dress (which she looks gorgeous in btw) so I'm probably just gonna be in a regular suit. Do you have any ideas for an accessory or colour we could wear to tie our outfits together?

Idk if the message of this one comes across

In a city with high police presence so trying to be subtle about it but idk if this is readable at all. It's a pocket I cut out of a thrifted pair of shorts and will be going onto the sleeve

I'm worried I've gone the wrong route with my private care

My initial consultation was 14th May (& £900 which I'm really scared that I've wasted), I've still not got the report back from the psychiatrist but I have emailed them again and got an automated response so I hope I'll receive that soon.

He told me I should get my care through an endocrinologist rather than my GP, and the earliest endo appointment I can get is September, also private and a further £300. He also said I would need to change my name before an endocrinologist would prescribe anything for me, which a lot of people said was wrong.

I realise that 5 months is very quick for a lot of people on the NHS and I'm eternally grateful I get to go private but I guess there's just questions at the back of my head. I feel I made the wrong decisions from choosing a practitioner to making the wrong appointments. Help please!!!! How fast is it actually feasible to access testosterone privately?

Im starting T privately, the psychiatrist says I have to change my name legally before an endocrinologist will see me

This was what I wanted anyway, but I'm literally in the middle of my a levels right now and I don't know everything works. He was really vague about my next steps too so I'm really confused

Got misgendered (not deliberately) at a trans specific event

This was a couple months ago, but still weighing on my mind. I know I don't pass, even with short hair and binding, but I felt like wearing a skirt, so I did. I thought a trans liberation event would be the last place people assume expression == identity. My outfit was shirt, waistcoat, tie, skirt, boots, and a bit of black eyeliner. I even wore a he/him pronoun badge.

The ***leader*** calls me she to my face, then goes "ooooh sorry, I didn't know your pronouns." I feel the least amount you can do if you're leading a trans event is work on binary defaultism, not least assuming someone's pronouns.

It drives me up the wall that even in my progressive (or as good as it gets anyway) city, there's an assumption that feminine trans men don't exist.
