this pinkie pie episode is such good representation of what chronic depression is like.

whenever pinkamena is depicted like this, i feel like she is so relatable to what it’s like living with persistent depressive disorder. depression is not always debilitating sadness, but sometimes a constant darkness that looms over you. you might show it through irritability, despondence, or detachment. and when people just want to try to cheer you up, it probably won’t work. most of the time i feel nothing though, but ponies give me some stimulation in my life whenever i’m feeling down <3

if you watched mlp when you were a kid, which pony was your favorite then and which one is your favorite now?

applejack was my favorite growing up and she’s still my favorite mane 6. i love aj, but whenever i think of my favorite pony it’s marble pie. she’s adorable and her personality is relatable. her “mhm” is so cute

does my bra look like it fits?

i’m sorry this is not a great photo, i was too nervous to ask for help and this is my only reference. this is a 32B but i’m scared i might should get a 34B, or does this look good? I don’t know, I haven’t bought a bra in a long time so I don’t know my true size, but I wanted to get a deal on the new drop. thank you for your help!

trying wellbutrin

so my doctor put me on lexapro for my chronic depression, its helped but i’m constantly so fatigued and tired i literally can’t do anything. she’s thinking of putting me on wellbutrin to help with the low motivation, she doesn’t know i’m disordered. i heard that there are health risks for people restricting taking this medication, does anyone know what side effects i should be aware of, or what ways i can practice harm reduction to reduce the risk? or have you taken this medicine and had results with mental health problems? i have inattentive adhd or ADD too so my executive dysfunction is horrible right now, but i know she won’t put me on a stimulant because I’m underweight.

10mg to 20mg dosage?

so my doctor has put me on 10mg for almost two months now, and my mood is much more stable without this darkness constantly looming over me, but i feel like i could still use more sedation of my mind. i have chronic depression / persistent depressive disorder, AN-R, generalized anxiety disorder, and ADD. i’m liking lexapro besides the fatigue which is sometimes debilitating. my problem right now is lack of motivation and executive dysfunction / lack of stimulation from unmedicated inattentive adhd. my doctor refuses to put me on a stimulant because i’m underweight and it suppresses appetite, but feeling depressed and like i can’t do anything just makes eating even more difficult for me. i would like to feel emotionally numb at this point if it would calm down my brain and obsessive thoughts more, i just want to not care so much and overthink everything anymore. my doctor told me 20mg would be the optimal dosage for me, but i’m worried i’m just going to feel worse and she still won’t listen to me if i tell her this medication makes me too tired. has anyone experienced less rumination and a more regulated mood from increasing their dose?

10mg to 20mg?

so my doctor has put me on 10mg for almost two months now, and my mood is much more stable. i’m much more comfortable without this darkness constantly looming over me, but i feel like i could still use more sedation of my mind. i have persistent depressive disorder, chronic anorexia nervosa, generalized anxiety disorder, and inattentive adhd or add. i’m liking lexapro besides the fatigue which is sometimes debilitating. my problem right now is lack of motivation and executive dysfunction / lack of stimulation from unmedicated inattentive adhd. my doctor won’t put me on a stimulant because i’m significantly underweight and it suppresses appetite, but feeling depressed and like i can’t do anything just makes eating even more difficult for me. i’m not compulsively exercising like i used to because i’m too tired to bother trying which is helpful, but i just feel worse about myself and my situation. i would like to feel emotionally numb at this point if it would calm down my brain and obsessive thoughts more. i just want to not care and overthink everything so much anymore. has anyone experienced similar feelings? did you experience less ruminating and a more regulated mood from increasing your dose? my doctor told me 20mg would be the optimal dosage for me, but i’m worried i’m just going to feel worse and she will continue to blame my lethargy on only my eating disorder. i feel like she doesn’t understand / refuses to listen to me when i tell her that this medication makes me extremely tired and won’t prescribe me anything to counteract the effects. should i consider going to see a psychiatrist for this? i’m trying to improve myself but i’m still struggling significantly, i feel like everyday it’s getting harder.

exposure therapy

so my doctor referred me to a therapist that specializes in food exposure, it’s usually for children but she said she recommended her. they told me to bring in two foods i liked (preferred foods) and two “learning or new (non-preferred) foods of varying textures”. i’m just confused as to what i should consider bringing. i’m really nervous about this and was thinking maybe cereal because that’s something i used to like but avoid now, but i don’t know if that would be too simple. does anyone have any recommendations as to what i should possibly try? i’m not looking forward to this but i know i should just try to go through with it. the two foods i like i’m bringing are a chocolate protein bar and a cup of applesauce, two of my normal safe foods. i much prefer sweets over savory too for reference. my arfid is mostly restrictive or lack of interest, but i do have some texture and flavor aversions, as well as fear of gastrointestinal pain and nausea and sometimes vomiting from chronic indigestion. i have to consume small portions so i don’t get sick, similar to gastroparesis. this coincides with my ocd so this is going to be difficult and overwhelming for me, i don’t like going out of my comfort zone or unpredictable experiences when trying things.

so i’m about 3 weeks into my prescription and i’m loving it so far, my only complaint is that i’m constantly tired. i don’t have any motivation to do anything and i’m so lethargic and sleepy. does this eventually go away or would i benefit from taking it at night instead? I take it at 10:00 am right now 2 hours after waking up, i try to sleep before midnight
