In person interview clothes

I'm 28F and looking to get some trousers, blouses, dresses and shoes - at least enough for one or two interview outfits. Is it best to wear a blazer too?

I'm a software engineer but have interviews at corporate banks, so I'm not sure how formal I should be. Am I expected to wear heels? Or white trainer or flats/loafer ok?

Does anyone have recommendations for where to shop and what kind of clothes would be appropriate?

Any idea where to find loafers or flats for wide feet? But comfy?

Links or picture examples would be really helpful!

Where/how did you make friends in London in your late 20s?

I’m 28F and since leaving uni I’ve found it quite hard to make new friends, especially as I don’t drink, so a lot of the usual pub/bar-based socialising isn’t really my thing.

Does anyone have recommendations for places, groups or activities where you’ve actually made friends in London, particularly people around their mid/late 20s to early 30s?

I know Meetup exists, but there are so many groups on there that I’m not really sure where to start. If anyone has specific Meetup groups they’ve had a good experience with, I’d love recommendations.

I was thinking about trying something like a pottery class, but I’m open to pretty much anything. I generally enjoy exploring new places, trying new activities, going for food/coffee, exhibitions, walks etc.

Also very open to suggestions outside of Meetup — classes, clubs, women’s groups, social events, volunteering or anything else that’s worked for you!

What is blocking? Do we do this with everything we make?

I’m a beginner and hear a lot about blocking. What really is this and do we do this with everything we make or just certain items?

Thanks!

Has anyone noticed fruit like blueberries either mouldy in store or get mouldy very quickly?

I usually wash and dry them straightaway and they get mouldy very quickly when before it would at least last a few days. Opened a packet today and some were already very mouldy they didn’t even look wet? It was probably the ones that were very soft.

This seems for happening with almost all the ones I have bought in the last couple of months.

Anyone else finding this? Anywhere else to buy from where they last longer and aren’t mouldy?

Where to buy smart white shoes/trainers?

I have wide feet. I wanted some comfortable smart white trainers.

I use to buy them from fitflop the Ralley trainers (attached image) but recently they changed them and they’re very uncomfortable.

I’ve tried Veja and found them too narrow and not very comfortable.

Any other suggestions?

Beneficial if they have arch support but if not that’s fine too.

What helps the most for summer constipation?

My stools seems to always be dry. I drink around 1-1.5lites water and sometimes less. I don’t ever feeling thirsty and probably need to increase this in summer.

Anything dietary or medication wise to help soften stools? Keep getting fissures or/and haemorrhoids which seem to spike with the heatwaves.

I don’t really get on too well with magrocol/movicol. I found kiwi helpful but it makes my throat burn. Glycerin suppositories can help but they started to irritate my gut a lot like taking a stimulant laxative which it didn’t do before.

How do I know is it a water problem or fiber problem or both?

Where to buy seamless sports bra for Pilates?

I don’t like compression and have sensory issues. I use to wear the Reebok Alexa bra but thats not being sold anymore.

Any recommendations of what to try please? I have very sensitive skin and sensory issues so don’t wear bras generally but I could wear the Reebok one just fine. Perhaps low impact might be best or a crop top?

Anyone get burning/stinging in inner corner of eyes when using eye drops?

Sometimes especially in hot weather I use the same eyes drops and the inner corner of my eyes start burning when I put them in but I can use the same eye drops sometimes with no burning at all. They’re most likely to burn when I use eye drops before I sleep or the evening never usually burn/sting in the morning.

Any idea why this happens and what I can do to stop this. I have MGD and get IPL treatments every 6 months which have helped but still get the burning/stinging.

Any one had tailbone/coccyx pain which turned into stabbing pain when you need to empty your bowels?

I started getting constant pain in my tailbone/coccyx which then turn into excruciating stabbing pain when I am about to have a bowel movement like when the stool is moving to my rectum and then once I have a bowel movement the stabbing pain stops but the dull pain stays.

Any idea what causing it and how to make it go away? Painkillers aren't really helping. I finished antibiotics and now I have to have a bowel moment atleast after every meal since my gut is irritated and each time I'll get the stabbing pain in my tailbone/ just above my rectum and now I'm scared to eat.

Picked up project after stopping due to heat wave and can’t remember what row I’m on. Anyone help me figure it out or shall I start again?

Here is the link I was following: https://youtu.be/zINbSAb4tuI?is=\_2wMLUdCBrE6Nxm5

Any idea what row I am on now?

If anyone could also right the instructions of each row please. I couldn’t find the pattern online and have to keep rewatching the video.

Any idea on how to remember which row I’m on so I don’t forget in the future if I need to keep starting and stopping projects?

Also and feedback on how it’s going would be great. knowings where to put the puff stitches is hard and I’m aware I did an extra one on two of the rows but thought if I put it in the back no one would see it and think I lost a stitch along the way but thought it wouldn’t be too visible? Also how to make the puff stitches look more even?

Whole vs powdered pysillium husk?

Which one is easier to swallow? I don’t really like the thick texture of it.

I was told to mix it with water. Is there a better way to have it?

Anyone tried a vagus nerve stimulator like nurosym?

My consultant recommended nurosym but seen a lot of mixing reviews and also very expensive.

Has anyone tried a vagus nerve stimulator or there anything that works similar which you have tried?

One of my many symptoms is visceral hypersensitivity which mainly affects my bladder and gut. It’s something that flares up often - for months I can get a constant urge to urinate as well as pain in my gut etc, no clue if the urge comes from bladder, gut or pelvic floor. Then one day it will get better for some unknown reason and then flare up again. Apparently the VNS can help this. When this flares it makes it very hard for me to leave the house.

I’m also due to start ketotifen, LDN, famotidine and sodium cromoglicate so not sure if these medication can help this either?

Does any else have sensory issues cooking raw chicken? Any way around it?

Most of my life I’ve been vegetarian but I started eating chicken a few years ago. I have tried to cook raw chicken a couple of times but struggle with seeing it raw and then cooked and then I don’t want to eat it anymore so I sometimes buy the ready cooked chicken from the store but it lacks flavour.

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help this or is that just something I have to accept? I was thinking of trying minced chicken not sure if that’s any better.

Anyone have Pilates/yoga or workout reccomendation?

Hi,

Looking for some Pilates, yoga and workout videos.

I have orthostatic intolerance so don’t like hiit workouts or anything like that. I used to go to the gym and do yoga and Pilates classes but the constant going from lying to standing or poses like downwards dog would make me almost faint or make my heart feeling like it’s pounding.

Anyone have any recommendations of YouTube videos which is effective for weight loss and gaining muscle and just general toning up? Would appreciate links please! I know strength training is generally important. For general cardio I did get a walking pad.
