I'm not really sure if there is a community trying to fly combat flying in X-Plane, but at least I found a freeware low-fidelity MiG-21M currently sitting in the Vozdvizhenka Air Force Base, which by itself is a total remade of what was abandoned by the USSR era.

The map itself is modded by myself given the Vanilla X-Plane has no proper Primorsky Krai fields except Knevichi Airport itself (not even Uglovoye Tsentralnaya itself!)

Given I'd like a Cold War era mission in the far east, I decide to share my work here given I ressurected many of the old air force base, or rather as VVS-base and PVO-base

The work itself currently as WIP, and so far, I had done other airbase, notably in Minsk area first

Speaking of the Combat Sorties in the game is still pretty much default to Laminar's original set to simple intercept mission

Hey everyone! Bringing a bit of aviation history back to life in X-Plane.

Here is a quick showcase video of my Ju-52/3m flying in a circuit into Konigsberg Devau Historic Airfield, custom-built using WED.

The Konigsberg Devau Historic Airfield, was built at the site of the former Kalthof proving ground of the Prussian Army on the road from Königsberg to Labiau (present-day Polessk), named after the nearby village of Devau.

Nabire used to have older shorter runway in it town center that now current become public park since 2020. Since X-plane was release on 2022 this airport exist on a limbo where the AIRNAV data stands for 2021 version for the new Nabire Airport in the west of the city center, bearing the same ICAO code WABI, which in game I made a custom airport as WAB2 for the purpose, clearly shown a mismatch fixes along the RNAV systems.

p.s. the new Nabire Airport is WIP as you can see here co-existing as a non-towered airfield

One of the best Freeware existing out there

If you are wanting to fly more soviet style aircraft, there are some excellent freeware options for X-Plane. Including:

Tu-154

Tu-134

An-12

Il-76

I would say out of all of them the Tu-154 is the most complete, and is payware quality. It even has an English cockpit translation. The Tu-134 and An-12 follow closely behind. I would say the Il-76 is a little dated, but is still fun to fly. These are all on the Felis Discord. Highly recommend checking them out!
