Hello, this is bothering me. I've been fishing in a private pond for a few days now and haven't had a single catch or even a bite. I'm fishing for perch and trout with all kinds of lures and want to avoid pike. I have a 5-20g rod with a Redfish CS 2000 reel. I'm using 16/100 braid without a leader: the water is murky and green, and beyond 15cm you can't even see your hand. I have these lures with me, but I'm not getting any results. Oh, and I also have a snap swivel.

Why Is Muhammad's Marriage to Aisha So Widely Debated?
The marriage between the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and Aisha is probably one of the most discussed topics in the history of Islam. For many people today, the idea of a young girl being married to an adult man is deeply disturbing. Others argue that the event must be understood within its historical context before passing judgment. What do the sources actually say?
A Practice That Was Not Unique to Islam
Early marriage was not unique to seventh-century Arabia. Very young marriages can be found throughout many ancient and medieval civilizations, including Rome, Byzantium, Persia, medieval Europe, certain Jewish and Christian communities, and many other parts of the world.
This does not mean the practice was morally good. The fact that a custom was widespread does not make it morally right. However, it does show that it was not an exceptional practice unique to Muhammad.
The main reasons were social:
to strengthen alliances between families or tribes;
to ensure the transmission of property and inheritance;
to reinforce ties between clans;
to marry girls shortly after puberty, which often marked the transition into adulthood according to the social norms of the time.
The modern concept of childhood, with legal protection until the age of eighteen, is a relatively recent development, emerging primarily during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Why Did Muhammad Marry Aisha?
According to the classical Muslim sources, Aisha was the daughter of Abu Bakr, Muhammad's closest companion and the first caliph after his death.
Historians generally understand this marriage as reinforcing an already important political and familial alliance. Several of Muhammad's other marriages also had political or social dimensions, including marriages to the daughters of close companions and to widows within the Muslim community.
Muhammad had already fathered children with his first wife, Khadijah, and therefore did not need this marriage to secure his lineage.
Aisha's Age
The two most authoritative Sunni hadith collections, Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, report that Aisha was six years old when the marriage contract was concluded and nine years old when the marriage was consummated.
Over the past several decades, some Muslim researchers have argued that she was older—approximately fifteen to nineteen years old—based on other historical evidence, such as the reported age of her sister Asma and certain chronological calculations.
However, this remains a minority position among specialists in early Islamic history. There is currently no academic consensus that allows historians to conclude with certainty that Aisha was older than nine.
Were Sexual Relations Allowed Immediately?
Contrary to a common misconception, classical Islamic law did not always establish a single numerical minimum age.
Instead, jurists generally discussed a physical criterion: the young wife had to be capable of enduring sexual intercourse (tuṭīqu al-waṭʾ).
Jurists such as Malik ibn Anas, Abu Hanifa, and al-Shafi'i maintained that consummation depended on the girl's physical ability rather than on a universally fixed age.
The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) summarizes this position by stating that marital relations depend upon the young wife's ability to physically endure them, and that this capacity varies from one individual to another.
Khiyar al-Bulugh (The Option of Puberty)
Part of classical Islamic jurisprudence recognized what jurists called Khiyar al-Bulugh, or "the Option of Puberty."
If a guardian had arranged a marriage while a child was still a minor, the child could, upon reaching puberty or legal majority, either ratify or annul the marriage, subject to the conditions established by the various legal schools.
The purpose of this doctrine was to protect minors from abuses committed by guardians.
However, its application differed among the various schools of Islamic law and according to particular legal circumstances. It was not applied uniformly throughout the Muslim world.
Can It Be Described as Pedophilia?
The answer depends on how the term is defined.
According to modern legal and moral standards, sexual relations between an adult man and a nine-year-old girl would be considered child sexual abuse in virtually every country.
On the other hand, describing Muhammad as a "pedophile" in the clinical psychiatric sense is much more problematic. Pedophilia refers to a persistent sexual attraction to prepubescent children. Historians cannot determine the psychological profile of someone who lived in the seventh century, and many argue that applying a modern psychiatric diagnosis to a historical figure would be anachronistic.
Conclusion
Muhammad's marriage to Aisha continues to generate debate because it brings two different perspectives into conflict.
The first evaluates the event according to modern moral and legal standards, which reject child marriage.
The second emphasizes that it occurred within a historical context in which early marriage was widespread, family and tribal alliances played a central social role, and the concept of childhood differed significantly from today's understanding.
Recognizing this historical context does not necessarily mean approving of the practice. Likewise, condemning the practice according to modern standards does not erase the fact that it was common across many societies of the time. A historical approach seeks to distinguish explaining a practice from morally endorsing it.

Salam, I'm looking for a partner to learn Moroccan Darija. I'm from the El Menzel region (Sefrou) and I'd especially like to learn the Darija of Fez and the surrounding area.
I'm looking for someone who has some time to chat via messages, reply fairly regularly, correct me, and teach me words and phrases used in everyday life.
I'd like to learn with the true local pronunciation, because I've noticed that the spelling in Latin letters varies a lot (for example, some write "lma," others "elma" for water), so I'd like to understand the different ways of writing and pronouncing words.
I'm a complete beginner but know a few words.
I can also help in French in exchange. Thank you!
Hi everyone, my hand is 20 cm long and 9 cm wide. What size slingshot would you recommend? I'm a beginner.
Hey, I was wondering if this would work and if you have any advice for me?
