Looking to connect before the European Gathering

Hey beautiful people,

My name is David, I'm a 23 year old filmmaker from Amsterdam.

I'm currently working on a series of documentary style videos where I explore unique communities and alternative ways of life. I recently returned from the US and Mexico, where I documented car dwellers in California and explored Santa Muerte in Mexico.

The Rainbow Gathering has been on my list for a long time, and this year I'm planning to visit the European Gathering. I've been reading a lot beforehand and I understand that filming isn't appreciated by everyone.

I completely respect that, which is why I'm reaching out here first. I know there are already documentaries about Rainbow Gatherings. Still, I have my own very human and personal way of telling stories, and I feel that the Rainbow Family is still largely unknown to a Dutch audience.

That's why I believe there's still value in making this project. I'm looking for people who would be open to sharing their story on camera, and I'm also looking for someone who might be willing to guide me a little during the gathering.

On previous projects I always worked with someone from the community, which helped me approach people respectfully and avoid stepping on anyone's toes.

If you'd like to get to know me first, I'd be more than happy to have a call before the gathering. Much love, and hopefully see you all in Spain. 🌈

Looking to speak with someone who follows Jesús Malverde

Hey guys, how are you doing?

I’m a videographer from Amsterdam and I’m currently in Mexico City with a local guide/translator, working on a documentary about folk beliefs, spiritual traditions, and alternative religions in Mexico.

Over the last few days we’ve been exploring Mercado de Sonora, learning about healing practices, rituals, and folk magic, and we’ve also spent time researching Santa Muerte.

Tomorrow we’re planning to visit a Jesús Malverde altar. We find his story really interesting and would love to speak with someone who follows, admires, or has knowledge about Malverde and would be open to answering a few questions.

If that’s you, or if you know someone who might be interested, send me a message. We’re happy to offer a small compensation for your time.

Thanks! 🙏🏻

Looking for people involved in witchcraft, folk magic, and spiritual traditions in Mexico City

Hi everyone,

I'm a videographer from Amsterdam and I'm currently in Mexico City until Thursday, working on a video piece about witchcraft, folk magic, spiritual traditions, herbal medicine, and alternative belief systems in Mexico.

I've already arranged a local guide and translator, and I'm now looking to connect with people who have knowledge of these topics and would be open to sharing their stories and experiences on camera.

I'm also interested in recommendations for interesting places, communities, markets, shrines, practitioners, or other locations connected to these traditions.

My goal is to learn more about these subjects and document them respectfully.

Of course, I'm happy to compensate people for their time and participation.

If you think you could help or know someone who might be interested, please send me a message.

Thank you!

David

¡Muchas gracias!

David

Can anyone recommend a private boat captain or small tour operator who can take us to Isla de las Muñecas?

I'm a videographer from Amsterdam, currently in Mexico City working on a video project. I've already arranged a local guide/translator, but I'm still looking for a private boat to reach the island.

I'd prefer to avoid the typical tourist party boats and large group tours. Instead, I'm hoping to find a smaller private boat with someone who knows the island well and can share its history, stories, and local legends.

Has anyone here done a trip like this, or knows a captain, family, or local operator who offers these kinds of visits?

Of course, I'm happy to pay for the boat, your time, and any related costs.

I'll be in Mexico City for about another week, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Looking for a private boat to Isla de las Muñecas with a knowledgeable local captain (paid)

I'm looking for someone who can help me visit Isla de las Muñecas by private boat.

I'm a videographer from Amsterdam, currently in Mexico City working on a video project. I've already arranged a local guide/translator, and I'm now looking for a private boat or local captain who can take us to Isla de las Muñecas.

I’m looking for a local fixer / translator who can guide me through Mercado de Sonora

I'm a videomaker from Amsterdam, and I've just come back from a month-long journey across America, where I filmed a variety of stories and documentary pieces. I recently flew into Mexico City, and I'd like to make a video about Mercado de Sonora.

I'm interested in learning more about the spirituality, folk beliefs, occultism, herbal medicine, rituals, and the people connected to the market, and I'd love to capture those stories on film.

I don't speak Spanish, so I'm looking for someone who could help me navigate the market, translate conversations, and possibly connect me with people who would be open to talking on camera.

I'm an independent filmmaker, so I don't have a big production budget, but I'm happy to compensate you for your time and hopefully we can work something out that feels fair for both of us.

I'll be in Mexico City for about another week.

Send me a message or leave a comment below if you're interested or know someone who could help.

Thanks!

Looking for someone in Mexico City to help me explore the spiritual side of Mercado de Sonora

Hello everyone,

I'm an independent filmmaker from Amsterdam and I'm currently spending some time in Mexico City.

I'm hoping to create a video about Mercado de Sonora and the people connected to it. I'm particularly interested in spirituality, healing traditions, folk beliefs, herbal medicine, rituals, personal transformation, and the stories behind why people are drawn to these practices.

I'm looking for someone who lives in Mexico City and knows the market or its surrounding spiritual communities. It would be amazing to connect with someone who speaks Spanish and could help me navigate conversations and better understand the cultural context.

More than anything, I'm interested in hearing authentic human stories and learning how spirituality plays a role in people's lives.

I'll be here for about another week. If you'd be open to helping, or if you know someone who might be, I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you,

David

Looking for someone in Mexico City who knows Mercado de Sonora

Hey everyone,

I had a question and was hoping someone here might be able to help.

I'm a videomaker from Amsterdam and I'm currently in Mexico City. I'd really like to make a video about Mercado de Sonora and learn more about the spirituality, folk beliefs, occult practices, herbal medicine, rituals, and people connected to the market.

I was wondering if anyone in this group lives in Mexico City or knows the market well. I'm looking for someone who speaks Spanish and could possibly join me, help translate conversations, and explain some of the traditions, practices, and occult elements that can be found there.

I'm not interested in making a sensationalized video. I'd genuinely like to learn more about the culture and hear the stories of the people involved.

I'll be in Mexico City for about another week. If you're interested, know someone who might be, or have any recommendations, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Looking to connect with people around Salt Lake City

Hi everyone,

This will probably be the last time I post in this group.

I’m an independent filmmaker from Amsterdam currently working on a documentary piece about people living in their vehicles and the human side behind it. I’m still looking to connect with a few more people who may be open to sharing part of their story or having a conversation on camera.

I’m currently around the Salt Lake City area and I’m willing to drive out if you’re nearby. If you live in your vehicle, have in the past, or know someone who might be open to talking, feel free to send me a message.

I’m approaching this project in a respectful and honest way, and anonymity is completely possible if preferred.

Thanks again for reading.
