Looking to document the real side of treasure hunting

Hi everyone,

This is not spam, just a genuine message from a 23 year old video maker from Amsterdam.

I’ve basically spent my whole life documenting interesting people and unusual stories, and recently I came across the treasure hunting community and found it really fascinating.

I think it’s genuinely interesting how creative some people are within this world. Some people make money from it as a side job by reselling items they find, while others are even able to organize their dinner or daily necessities through it. There’s a whole world behind it that most people never really see or understand.

I’d love to meet someone with a lot of experience in this lifestyle who would be open to being followed for a bit and maybe taking me along on a hunt to show me the ins and outs of it all.

The goal is simply to create an honest and human story around it.

Right now I’m in Las Vegas and I’ll be heading toward Salt Lake City over the next few days.

I’ll still be in the US for about ten more days, and I’m pretty flexible when it comes to travel and meeting locations.

So if you’re somewhere along that route and open to talking or meeting up, let me know. Would love to connect.

Thanks!

Looking for car dwellers and dumpster divers in Utah

Hey everyone,

I’m a 23 year old video maker from Amsterdam and I’m currently traveling through the US working on two different documentary items at the same time, both focused on lifestyles and communities that people often don’t fully understand.

One of the items is about people living in their vehicles. I want to show the real faces and stories behind the car dwelling lifestyle and create a more honest and human perspective around it.

The second item is focused on dumpster diving communities and the creative ways people resell items, find useful products, or even organize food through dumpster diving. I’ve recently been diving deeper into that world and found it really fascinating how large and active the community actually is.

Over the past weeks I’ve already interviewed and spoken with multiple people in different cities, and right now I’m in Las Vegas heading toward Salt Lake City in a couple of days and traveling through Utah over the coming days.

So I’m looking to connect with people from either of these communities. Whether you live in your vehicle, do dumpster diving yourself, or know someone who does, I’d love to hear from you. The goal is simply to create an honest and representative picture of both subcultures.

I’ll be traveling around between now and the 30th, so if you’d be open to talking, being interviewed, or showing me around a bit, let me know.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Interested in filming american gun culture

Hey, this is not spam!

My name is David, I’m a 23 year old filmmaker from Amsterdam currently traveling through the US.

Right now I’m around Joshua Tree, heading toward Las Vegas after this and later Utah.

During the trip I want to make a small documentary project about interesting people and lifestyles across America.

I’m especially interested in things that feel very different from Europe.

One thing I’d genuinely love to document is someone with a gun collection or somebody deeply involved in gun culture. It’s something you almost never see where I’m from, so I think it would make a really interesting part of the project.

Not looking to make anything political or sensationalized. Just honest and cinematic portraits of real people and their world.

If you’d potentially be open to it, or know somebody who might be, feel free to reach out.

If you’d potentially be interested in being part of it, or know someone who might be a great fit, feel free to reach out.

videomaker traveling through the US looking to learn more about DMT

This isn’t spam haha, I’m just a 23 year old videomaker from Amsterdam who got genuinely interested in this subject while traveling through the US.

Right now I’m in San Diego and will probably head toward Nevada and Utah next, around Salt Lake City as well.

I’d genuinely love to speak with people who have experience with DMT, hear different perspectives, and maybe one day try it myself in the right setting with someone experienced. I’m also really curious about the more unusual stories around it, like people claiming they were “banned” from the DMT realm.

I think there’s something interesting in exploring both the positive and darker sides of it all, and possibly making a video or small documentary around these experiences and communities.

If anyone’s open to talking or connecting while I’m traveling through the area, let me know.

Looking for unusual stories and adventures in Las Vegas

I’m a 23 year old filmmaker and videographer from the Netherlands. I make videos about obscure, unusual, and alternative subjects and people.

Next week I’ll be in California and Las Vegas for a few days. I’m visiting places like Slab City, meeting people with alternative lifestyles, and filming unique stories along the way. My concept is basically meeting people through Reddit and building the videos from there.

So I was wondering: are there any crazy, underground, weird, or interesting things in or around Vegas worth filming? Or maybe someone here would be down to show me around, go on an adventure, or introduce me to interesting people or places.

I’m open to pretty much anything. Let me know.
