TRX4M Defender Beach Run.
Finally got the lights and wheels installed on my TRX4M Defender. Had to see how it looked on a morning beach crawl.
Advice on getting tires off the ground for storage
Looking for a cheap way to get my tires off the shelf for long term storage. What does everyone else do to achieve this?

Finally got one
After sitting on the financial sidelines for a year or so I pulled the trigger on a open box huina 1580, so happy with it.
Update: artificial lights, curves, and other minor improvements.

My IR40 build needs a name. Thoughts?
I found the hardest hill climb spot today!

Finally got this little guy going again.
Time to hit the trails!
Brushless, LCG chassis, Treal shocks and limiting bands.
My defender has reached its final form, atleast for the time being.
Always intended to keep this pretty scale while chasing some performance where the stock 4m lacks.
Just added the lcg chassis from injora, along with lay down servo kit for stock axles, Treal 53mm shocks and hobbywing mini24 brushless combo and steel bent links.
The hobbywing is smooth as butter. I have the injora mid underdrive gears and stock diffs for the time being and the drag brake isn't quite strong enough on steep stuff. Hoping the 16% underdrive diffs I have on the way will give it the gearing it needs to hold, but if not the full crawler gears will do the trick. Otherwise the hobbywing is a great upgrade for lighter rigs, awesome torque, much better wheelspeed than stock even with the lower gearing, super quiet and great lowspeed control.
Really pleased with the treal shocks, super smooth and a nice selection of springs. Running the softest gold ones on the front and stock fronts on the rear for the tail heavy defender body. I found it was sitting too high and torque twist was really bad now so I tried the limiting band trick I've seen people use on scx24 builds.
Absolute game changer. Holds the truck in droop and resists torque twist perfectly but still allows full articulation. Blown away with how much this has helped. I was a bit meh with these latest chassis mods until I added these bands. Anyone who prefers a lower ride height and hasn't tried them yet needs to. It's just a small elastic band running in line with each shock from axle shock mount to chassis shock mount. I used some of my kids 'loom bands'.
Full mod list in order of fitting pretty much

Bearings
Injora maverix 57mm (I fancy the 53mm for the scale points)

Cheap brass axle bits (c hubs, knuckles, diff covers etc) on stock axles
These mods made a huge difference to traction and stability
Slight body trim and custom brass high clearance bumpers
Phase 2
Injora lcg universal chassis
Treal 53mm shock with limiting bands
Steel links
Steel driveshafts
30% gear reduction kit injora
Hobby wing mini 24 combo
Flysky gt7p+
Lay down servo kit
+1mm brass hexs
16% gear reduction diffs coming tomorrow.
My Dad’s stock 4M and mine…
His is all stock, while mine has been through a decent few upgrades, plus a personal “defender-ing” of the front and rear fenders…
