Hollow Purple on a chemical level

It doesn’t really make sense for HP to ONLY leave a hole in the ground. Instead, local matter should remain in place, just in a new form. HP should forcefully rip molecules apart, then pull the atoms back together into new configurations. This process would add some kinetic energy, but not in a specific direction. So the end products would be a mix of lightweight gasses, that don’t explode, but quietly disperse into the surrounding air.

Height of magic theory.

Frieren visited the middle earth wizard tower in search of magical trinkets. Saruman told her that, no, she can't bring any of it back home. However, as a consolidation prize, he'll teach her the "push people into walls spell". So the reason why Fern can't detect any mana, is that the magic system used for this spell is completely different. But it's a dangerous tunnel vision full of openings, because Frieren can't use her normal spells at the same time. Mystery solved. Case closed.

On a scale from 1 to -10, how efficient is my train system?

I want to make a base where every single block is connected to four neighbors and transfer items one chunk at a time (sortings the items for transport according to the directions with the most demand). My logic circuit worked quite well. Then I tried making a logic controlled sushi belt setup, but the throughput is abysmal. So now I'm trying to convert it to a train network. Only 25% of the locomotives are working at any given time, but I also have an insane amount of trains per junction. The rhytm is syncronized by a global clock, so it can't really jam. Curious about how you think. And more importantly, do you have any ideas for improvement, or some inspiration for other things to try?

For context, here is my circuit system (that calculates the demand of each factory tile):

Should I try and syncronize the train network with a global clock?

My logic system is able to compute the correct number of items that should flow from each block tile towards it's neighbors. However, a sushi belt setup cannot keep up with the necessary throughput, and is also prone to clogging. So I'm trying to make a train system that flows continuously along the four cardinal directions. Furthermore, to avoid complicated sorting systems with lots of belts, I just want every train to visit the same loading station. We deliver what is needing, take what is available (so long as the train is traveling towards somewhere those resources are needed) and then move out so the next train can enter.

The core principle seems decent. And with a global clock, we can synchronize this flow in order to prevent collisions. However, the throughput seems kind of limited. I'm wondering whether it's actually a big deal that most of the trains are inactive at any given time. And if that were so, how exactly do I fix it? Trains aren't my strong suit, so I'd appreciate some feedback.

Here's how my circuit system works, the one that's going to guide the train system:

The music is really authentic.

My dad overheardy playlist. Delighted, he said, «that’s classical music, from which composer?» And when I said Evan Call, he got really confused… even more so when the song is called «Sneaking and shopping». He really thought it was some ancient symphony from the mythical era.

That’s not to mention all the folk instruments and such, in additipm to the orchestral feel. The zoltraak flute in particular is quite heavenly imo.

It’s interesting how people don’t really bow for Serie anymore.

Look at the mage exam. None of the new candidates treated Serie like nobility, even when they saw her as a god. And if you look closely, Frieren was also talking with her quite casually when Flamme wasn’t in the room.

Another point, Serie also got kind of surprised and mildly annoyed when Frieren didn’t talk back to her. Which implies she views her like an equal to some extent. She doesn’t have the attitude of, say, King Joffrey, where she wants people to tip toe around her.

I made this doohickey. Any ideas on any use cases?

The logic measures the item count in each square. The gates open if your neighbors have a higher demand. The demand of your tile, is the sum of the demands of the neighbors on the right, and upwards. Maybe if I manage to apply filters to the system, we'll be able to spread items around with osmosis. Just assign random recipes to assemblers in each tile, and the supply the raw materials from the outside. The Intermediary products will be distributed via osmosis, same as every other item. This can't possibly be a good idea, but it sounds fun...

Robust and flexible sushi belt with high throughput.

We define a set ratio, and precisely measure the input resources to match that ideal. So we can use a single belt to feed any number of different materials, without needing to change the assembler array. Once shortages occur, the system doesn't actually fail, it goes on pause. We can easily change the recipe and scale up the system as needed. Addition logic for each assembler can be used to produce a specific amount of each product, and the order of each assembler, can be used to feed into each other, with minimal risk of insertion error.

Methode is going to hug Frieren again if it's the last thing she does (it's mission relevant, I swear.

What a crazy thing to say with such confidence...

Countless people were slain before they could even reach the demon king. And we know for a fact that Frieren was defeated by several different demons. And she nearly died protecting her village before she even met Flamme. Which brings me to my next point. It didn't take 1000 years for human mages to "catch up" to Frieren, and if anything, the opposite is true. Flamme was several times stronger than her, while Lernen is her equal at best. Not to mention, he was a pure battle mage, trained by Serie herself. We have no idea how strong Frieren would be if she had similar goals.

So no, I don't believe that human mages are "catching up" to Frieren, much less Serie. It's simply a case of there being absurd outliers among humans, who can eclipse centuries of casual effort, with decades of hurried effort. Just because Fern reaches "new heights", or whatever, would not actually mean that Frieren is falling behind "humanity" in general. If anything, she would be first in line to access the new innovations, or more likely, she'd be a co-researcher in the first place, just like she did with zoltraak.

You would still need a good matchup, or another specific, personal advantage, to actually beat her. Same as any other mage. Fact of the matter is, you can't possibly draw a neat academic line between "elves" and "humans" if they are constantly working together. So what Serie told her in this scene, doesn't make any sense. And if we remove this cooperation, assuming it was unexpected, that just leaves humanity even further behind. While yes, some humans could defeat Frieren without being trained by Serie, this must have happened across different centuries. Not a sudden line of new mages ready to bully Frieren right after she saved the world.

.

Furthermore, Serie herself is part of that "us" which is allegedly being overtaken.

But clearly, she hasn't been overtaken, not even close. That's why's she's disappointed.

"Procrastrinating your hobbies"

Sometimes I get disappointed in myself, about how I start a project in minecraft, or something like that, but later on fail to complete it, due to losing interest. which happens very often because of ADHD The same goes for movies and games I've been wanting to experience. The backlog of doom, if you will. But maybe the solution is to stop thinking about it as "projects to complete" in the first place. Maybe I should just treat it as a list of potential dopamine. Getting bored is not a failure to engage, it's the logical end point. Like, you would obviously get bored of delicious pizza, if that was all you ever ate for an entire month. In a way, ADHD hyperfocus can repplicate that feeling, even for stuff that isn't food.

So, letting go and moving onto something else, is perfectly okay. Whether or not you return later, doesn't change the fact that it did bring me some enjoyment. The post-hoc "feeling of accomplishment" that is glaringly absent from the ADHD brain, was never the expected reward in the first place. The moment to moment stimulation, THAT was the whole point. Denying that fact, will probably just make the hobby feel like another form of work. An obligation to myself, from myself, except that it has zero value beyond the enjoyment it brings.

Hence, feeling shame about loss of interest, doesn't make any sense.

And similarly, whatever just so happens to catch my interest and get me out of bed when nobody else forces me, is also, by definition, the best hobby currently available. It doesn't matter that I have a reminder to watch a given movie, if my current interest lies somewhere else. Why should I torture myself for no reason? Unless it's an unhealthy addiction, I should totally do what I feel like in the moment. ESPECIALLY if my energy for other things is near zero, and the alternative is simply doing nothing.

(And yes, scrolling social media IS the equivalent of nothing. Whereas thinking about your interest and writing about it, even on social media, is NOT the equivalent of doing nothing).

Justice sensitivity helped me smash through people pleasing.

My anxiety from RSD, and humiliation trauma, barred me from ever feeling like a true equal. I was the black sheep of my family ever since I left christianity, among other things. And I felt shame every time I lashed out to argue with them. But the other hand of the coin was, that me and my beliefs was constantly being disrespected in casual conversation, and then used "family peace" as an excuse to shut down any fair discussion. What I'm starting to realize, is that smashing through their arrogant brick walling and talk freely, it actually did accomplish something. The laser focused arguments were a "negative" symptom of ADHD, but int he broader context, it has given me a sliver of respect.

They are starting to view me as an independent person, not just a weird extension of themselves. And they also realize, that I have the power to hurt them (even though it's not my intention). Yeah, it sucks that my mother started to cry when I condemned the way I was indoctrinated with shame and punishment. But I wasn't being unreasonable. Emotions cannot be "contained" indefinitely for years on end, and they''re the ones at fault for neglecting to give me a healthy outlet.

So, I refuse to feel any shame from standing up for myself. They aren't entitled to my gratitude simply because they did the bare minimum of feeding a child they chose to have. I can appreciate moments of intimacy, and be happy to keep living with them for the time being. But it can't be this unconditional, abusive setup where they can bad mouth my core ethical beliefs and still expect me to remain silent.

No.

Even if I'm depressed, and have no motivation for anything else, I'm still gonna defend my core beliefs, regardless of how it feels in the moment. The RSD can go fuck itself, and my true self gets to be seen. Which doesn't necesarily make other people "like" me more, but at least they'll respect me. Which builds the groundwork for rebuilding the bond from a more honest perspective.
