The scariest part about Sense is her unbroken stealth

No mage can possibly hide the moment they cast a spell. Even Frieren gets detected by Laufen of all people, from long range, while trying to be discrete. However, Sense already cast her spell long ago, before even approaching you. Because of that, she can lunge from the shadows without breaking her radio silence. You absolutely NEED to be looking at her with your EYES. But even if you do that, you probably won't expect what's coming unless you have pre-knowledge of her specific toolkit.

Let me elaborate on the last point. When Fern attacks Frieren to reveal her weakness, and when Lernen shoots at her, she always has time to react even in close range. But if Sense maintained a normal looking hairstyle, it's theoretically possible for her to just walk up and stab Frieren in plain sight before she realizes they're fighting. Or maybe that's a stretch, as Frieren is built different. But I bet Sense could make it work against tonnes of other mages, even those with more power overall.

How often do fights begin from long range, anyway? They often END in long range, but very often, mages will close the distance initially. Fern and Frieren literally start most battles only a few meters behind Stark, and only move further back during the middle of combat. And that's against other warriors. Nothing suggests the likes of Denken would start blasting from a mile away if a mysterious mage approached him. Especially since he probably wouldn't even notice her in the first place.

Serie, please get off that damn chair!

Kraft, this applies to you too. "Oh but a new demon lord pops up every millennia or so" okay, and? Do you stop eating food just because you know that hunger is bound to return? Of course not. Life is full of routine. There's no reason to let 2/3rds of humanity and 99% of elves be wiped out. Go kill the demon lord. And the next one. If you want a 3000 year vacation, go train some new elf heroes to keep watch in the meantime. Have some common sense.

What if Frieren just walked away? How would her clone react?

Lets imagine that Frieren decides to leave the dungeon. We can reason that her clone would also disappear. But even if that was true, I doubt it would be a good idea. She would essentially be abandoning everyone else. Her own clone would have free reign, and no reason to remain idle. What if she realizes her new time limit, leaves the boss room, and goes on a "necessary" killing spree to protect the spiegel? Because remember, there's an unbreakable seal on the final door. Leaving the boss room is fully viable.

Walking through actual hell-flames is easier than being cold.

Just look at her. That calm body language belongs to someone who feels decently comfortable. Local air temperatures that can liquefy boulders, is just another Tuesday for her. And she's not even sweating. That's because elves can perform rapid heat dissipation using their iconic ears. Meanwhile, the cold uncaring entropy of, well... cold, is legitimately terrifying. Even the most efficient, immortal body, cannot possibly generate enough warmth to supply the entire world. And no amount of comically large hamburgers can get you through a snowstorm. Beware.

What did Genau mean by this?

Does he think a barrier can only be destroyed by someone who is "greater" than the original caster? Because in that case, he would miss the mark by an entire order of magnitude. And that's being generous. Sounds like he doesn't have a clue how advanced barriers even work. So why is he so confident in his assesment?

Humans can also be insanely arrogant

Here we have Graf Granat threatening Lugner without realizing the absurd power difference. Apparently, nobody in this city has the skill to evaluate the power of a demon mage. Good thing Frieren showed up. Oh, nevermind, she got arrested. Or rather, she LET herself be arrested. Because there is no way these guards could overpower a serious threat, yet they certainly act like it.

Forget about Frieren, even Fern could raze the city to ground level in a matter of minutes. From the air, where nobody can reach her. Godess forbid a local ruler have the common sense to be humble. It takes real guts to say that "speaking casually to me is a crime in this town" when Stark is actively saving your life.

Worst of all, some rando in the north was threatening Himmel's entire party with jail time if they didn't complete a quest his own men were too weak to handle. Like, bro, that sounds like a deliberate joke. It's a request clad in irony, right? There's no way you're serious.

Noblemen in this show are power tripping with no power, is how I'd best describe it.

What if Serie had showed up right here?

How would she react to a demon who studies human barrier magic from various cultures? What does she think about Frieren reversing diagolze? Can Denken expect praise or criticism for setting up this crazy operation? And what might Solitar feel about Serie? If she asked Macht what they should do, flee or fight, what answer do you think he'd give? And lastly, would Frieren be relieved that backup had arrived, or would she feel uneasy due to her complicated relationship with Serie?

What if Frieren didn't have a huge opening?

Imagine that Frieren can always detect mana, and there is never this one singular moment to kill her. In that case, it becomes necessary to wittle down her defenses. And yes, I do believe that's possible. Fern can always shoot first, which forces the clone to raise her shields. But instead of giving up, Fern can just keeps shooting. The clone never gets a moment to breathe, and that allows Frieren to charge up her most devastating attacks without being interrupted. Worst case scenario, they still fail to break open her defenses.

But even that case still maintains a massive lead. The advantage of a 2v1 in terms of TEMPO is very significant. Fern cannot sustain a long attrition barrage on her own (even Denken failed on that front), but she absolutely can intervene strategically in the right moments to prevent momentum from swinging. Every time the clone is tired of defending from Frieren, and wants to counterattack, Fern quickly dumps a magazine or two while Frieren reloads.

.

That forces the clone to ALWAYS keep her shields up.

>Draining mana even faster than normal.

Meanwhile, Frieren NEVER has to raise her own shields.

> Saving her a ton of mana.

.

You could argue that Fern would run out first. But I don't believe that. Sure, the ratio between shield cost and zoltraak cost isn't high enough for her to outlast Frieren... except for the fact that Frieren herself is doing the majority of attacking in this scenario. The clone only needs to be attacked by Fern in specific moments, not all the time. But even if we grant that Fern runs out first, the energy difference would be massively in Frieren's favor by that point. Since her fighting style isn't a wild flurry of risky moves like Ubel does, she won't lose randomly due to random chance.

.

So in conclusion, the Frieren clone has no chance to beat the TEMPO disadvantage of a group fight, even if the POWER difference is negligible. The opening in her detection enabled a quick victory, but it wasn't the only strategy that could have worked.

I'm a total beginner. This is how the game felt so far.

Conveyor belts powered by sheer magic is absolutely brilliant. Even better, I don't even need to sleep or eat. Truth be told, I don't even know why I want to leave the planet. Should I really create enviromental catastrophy in my search for more energy, when I already have access to infinite energy by defeault? It would be laugahbly easy to just drive around with my car, fueled by chopped trees, and live out my immortal life in harmony with nature.

Draw engine? Nah, the souls themselves are what I really need.

I won the fight so easily, that I tried replaying it without playing any normal cards... and I still didn't die??? Your soul really is the real hidden gem.

Fern vs the old Hero Party?

If you roll back all the defensive upgrades, then Fern should be equally deadly as Qual. Probably even more so, given her training in overcoming the modern anti-zoltraak countermeasures (what Qual was only beginning to experiment with in the rematch, Fern has been mastering for years). However, she probably can't defend herself very well against Frieren's own attacks, much less Himmel and Eisen rushing her down in melee. Even the sword demon can dodge-roll against her. If that kind of trick actually worked against Qual, he would have died in round one.

So I don't think Fern would survive this. Regardless of whether she's currently better than Qual at using zoltraak, and even if we remove mana from being a consideration, her overall strength and combat awareness must necessarily be way lower. Or else the combat results seen in the story would make no sense.

Frieren should try a sword.

It would be cool if she knew some basic moves. And Even if she failed, that would just be funny. Perhaps she finds a magical sword in a dragon nest. Then she tries impressing Stark by cutting a rock in half, only for it to make a toy hammer squeeky noise.

After shaking it, she swings again, successfully this time. But Stark comments that her edge alignment was off, and Fern runs in, asking why someone had used a cutting spell.

The most amazing potion clutch in history

Ah yes, thanks for giving me the exact power that can give me the exact skill that can give me the exact attack that I needed to perfectly solve this specific enemy. And then follow it up with the best defensive upgrade to pair with my trash defend cards. 1 damage, huh, almost got me there. We're quite literally cutting it as close as physically possible, and doing it with style.

Traumatized into not even trying.

I'm not even that bad at falling asleep. I can often enter a nice equilibrium for a week or so. However, my ADHD, coupled with depression, makes it downright impossible to maintain whatever behavior enabled those results. Like, for instance, despite the fact that light therapy DID work really well, I just fell off after a while for no reason at all. Literally, I woke up at a reasonable hour for the 11th time in a row, well rested. So I ordered my body to active the light, but nothing happened. What the actual fuck.

And then of course, because my sleep goes down the drain each time this bullshit happens, my other disorders get worsening symptoms. Because I'm an adult now, my life is at the mercy of my own self-regulation, which is terrible even on my best day. On my bad days, I can't perform ANYTHING related to studies, or even partake in the sport I love. People judge me, especially my family. Every conversation feels 10x more tense than it actually is, because my anxiety gets free reign.

So I retreat into my room to play video games to distract from the shame and guilt. Going to bed feels very bad. My thoughts race, I'm hyperfixated on the things which provided relief from my real life. Plus, I'm hungry because it's 8 hours since the last time my brain was capable of making food. The sum of all those feelins is unbearable, so I keep running full speed for 24 hours or more, until my brain is ready to collapse. Brief relief ensues as I get perfect sleep, then we're back at square one.

I feel like a child. My problem is quite literally that I can't regulate myself. You wouldn't let a child decide their own bedtime, no matter how good their grades were. That's how I feel today. I wish there were mental asylums for people like me, where they'd force me to have a liavable lifestyle. The cost to run this asylum would easily be in the negatives, because I'd actually keep my trajectory from high school and become a productive engineer rather than some kind of unemployed corpse.

How many mimics has Frieren killed?

People always say, mimics are Frieren's weakness. But the opposite is true. Frieren hard counters mimics actually. She's experienced enough to deal with them, but unwilling to avoid them. If anything, she's their perfect predator. Like just imagine you're chilling in a dungeon, and you see demon king slayer 9000 rolling up to your little corner of the world. She kneels down right into your biting range, even takes her eyes off you to argue with someone else, and yet, you show the self restraint to keep your mouth shut.

But then, lo and behold, she decides to open you up, despite knowing with 99% certainty that you're a living thing. You're obviously forced to defend your own dignity. Unfortunately, your teeth don't work, and you get brutally torn apart from the inside out. The worst part is, your valiant effort was played off as a joke. Not even an original joke. Simply a bog standard recurring gag. You inflicted more stress on Frieren than most demons ever could, and despite this feat, you're apparently nothing more than a laughingstock.
