She be leakin

First photo for the haha, but for real, me and a buddy did an oil pan gasket on my 240D.

Drove it 45 minutes home and there is oil in the back.

Possibly just residual oil?

Let’s discuss because this car is wearing me out lol

Also what is that rubber mount thing in the back covered in oil anyway?

Whole Foods; did I get the wrong order?

I was so excited I finally get a Whole Foods Bag!

Get to the store, and I asked where to go and the guy said to go to this one counter.

I go to the counter and these people in front of me are super aggressive towards the kid working and said that’s where the bags normally at and giving him a hard time. He looked so confused and high.

He handed me a bag and didn’t even ask for my code, but I swiped it anyway.

Get to the car and I got the prepared meals bag and not a meats bag.

Did I get the wrong order? I got some meatballs, then some macaroni and some other vegetable

I am very happy with what I got! But doesn’t seem like I got the correct one

House can’t get below 76

We have an old 1925 home with so-so insulation.

Old Goodman unit with R12

Replaced the air filter with a MERV5 last month

Coil on the outside looks decently clean

Is an 11 degree difference alright between the supply and intake?

We rent but the landlord is cool and we are friends, just making sure if this is an issue to complain about or not

It kept running at 76, so I see it to 77 and it’s been running constantly like before

It was 100 degrees today

Our upstairs attic room has a window AC and the difference between intake and supply vent is 20-25 degrees

Whole Foods Sells Out Before I have a chance? Is this normal?

I’ll literally be on my phone a minute before it drops then right when it drops it sells out. Every. Single. Time.

Like a few questions here:

  1. is it even worth it?

  2. why doesn’t the other ones sell like this? The ikea one is pretty fire but doesn’t sell out super quick

How is this possible??? Like how am I supposed to get the bag if it sells out before I even have a chance?

Are rent prices really this out of hand?

$4500 a month, that’s $54000 a year. What am I missing or is this the new normal?

Is $500 a good price for dental cleaning and exam?

Looking for a good dentist and sound one on the west side!

The cleaning itself is $140 but because I am a new patient, I need all the X-Rays and all that jazz

I was quoted ballpark $500 for the first visit.

They’re able to get me in a month which is awesome and they are 5 star rated on Google

Is this about average for dental out of pocket?

Attic room; humidity too low?

We have a finished upstairs attic room and prior to adding a window unit to make the room usable.

But, we now have 28% humidity with the fan on low.

If I blow the fan on high, it raises to like 35-40%

What the heck? lol

What a weird problem to have, any advice?

Inverter window AC; is it normal to have some water on the styrofoam on the evaporator?

Just installed this yesterday and noticed it has a little pool of water. No leaks in the house and it’s not growing super fast

Called it the wrong part: edit: is it normal to have a little water in the evaporator coil on a window AC unit?

Thank you all for the help 🙏

Is it normal to have some water in the front of the Window AC unit?

Got a new AC unit for upstairs and it has been running for about 16 hours now.

Is this normal for it to have some water on one side near the coils?

When should I be concerned?

Upstairs Attic Room: Ditch the single hose portable AC?

I have a single hose portable AC up there and have a few ideas I want to bounce around here on this subreddit.

The attic room is 25x8 and currently have an LG Inverter 10k BTU single hose portable AC.

Went this route since I have an old hopper window.
It cools 1/2 the room and causes my downstairs to run a little more so i'm not too happy with the results lol

So here are my options, which would you choose?

  1. Keep the portable AC and partition the other half of the room off completely

  2. Risk it for the biscuit, install a window unit in the window anyway and add a support on the other side

  3. Just leave it as it is, it cools the space and precool it when I plan to use the space

Have you ever seen intake ducts this dirty? Am I due for a ‘cleaning’?

We moved into this house and the air conditioner works.

But looking around adjusting airflow the intake vent looks like an alley way of an underground homeless shelter in Las Vegas.

Is this a prime candidate of getting the ducts cleaned out or should I just leave it alone?

Wife has no driving license; how can I best accommodate this?

Me and my wife moved states and into a city since she was begging us to move away from the rural town we lived in after she graduated despite saying it’s probably a bad idea.

We are doing the green card marriage and in our new state, she can’t get a driving license until she gets her work permit or green card approval notice in our new state, which may be a while.

How can I best accommodate this?

This morning she was snappy with my since I was planning to drive to my friends house and she had an event she booked an event for without telling me around the same time booked before we knew this.

I don’t want to get into massive arguments over something that’s not really her fault.

She has a bike but she says our neighborhood is sketchy and refuses to ride her bike anywhere; how can I work on this issue, too? She used to love to ride her bike.

Wife's Drivers License Expired: Can I add her to the policy anyway?

My wife's license is expired last month and we cannot renew since we are waiting on our Green Card paperwork to process and that'll probably be a few months.

Our state only accepts her getting one if we get a work permit for her, which we are waiting on.

I got a few quotes since we just moved. Alone, I am looking at $250 a month. Adding her, I save $50 a month.

Can I add her as a driver to the policy anyway? She obviously won't drive but the insurer hasn't asked for a drivers license and the quote is $50 less per month and seems like a no brainer, but i'm not sure how insurance works.

Is my AC short cycling?

I have my AC set to 73. Currently about 90 outside. Have an older Goodman GSC130301CA single stage AC unit in a 1300 square foot house. There are two bedrooms in the basement with AC supply lines and one main vent in the main basement area.

It runs for 11-12 minutes on, and then stays off for about 8 minutes to maintain this temperature. This translates to our single stage AC system cycling 3 times per hour.

Is this considered short cycling?

I am seeing conflicting info on Google, saying 5 minutes is short cycling, and that 10 minutes is also short cycling.

If we set it to 72 degrees, it wants to run an hour at a time which seems kinda odd lol.

1920s Upper floor no AC but was recently refinished; will this hurt the carpet?

Just got a house and the seller refurbished the upstairs. But it does not have AC!

Will this cause any issues with mold?
