Different helmet, this one fits much better and doesn’t look so tiny on my head.

Returned the smith network helmet and went to a different shop. I prefer the fit of this giro agilis helmet way more.

The had a white lazer Z1 kineticore that I really wanted for the ability to store sunglasses, better airflow and the colour but it was literally twice as much as this one. Still kinda kicking myself in the ass for not buying it.

How does the fit look?

Are these worth $800 Canadian? Seems like a decent deal.

Says there’s only 1 ride on them and decided he wanted something different. I can’t verify that. But I’m curious, is this a good deal? Seems like half price.

I’d be putting them on my 23 Aethos comp. I was tempted to go with deeper more aero wheels but I just don’t wanna be blown around while riding. It’s pretty windy where I live.

I also don’t have huge climbs where I live it’s a lot of ups and downs so I’d be using these more as an all arounder.

What are your thoughts?

How do you guys go about going into stores for food and drink on long rides? Are most grocery and corner stores okay with you bringing your bike in with you?

I definately don’t want to leave my road bike outside as our city has a high rate of bike theft. But if I need fuel on my rides and I run out of everything I brought, I will stop by a grocery store or gas station.

Most are cool with me bringing the bike in, a few haven’t been which I respect the rules and just say “no problem, have a good day” and turn around.

Obviously I wouldn’t bring it into a restaurant or something haha.

I try to go into stores or pizza shops that are not chain stores and I find they are a bit more open to it because it’s tough to run a buisness nowadays if you don’t have a big corporation backing you.

Whats your experience?

Don’t mind me, just posting my beloved Hightower v3. Been doing some long rides on it lately.

Only thing I dislike about it is I neglect my other bikes.

How do I know when a road tire is at the end of its life?

Mountain biker here.

Just picked up a specialized Aethos about a month ago, have a slow leak that will go completely flat after about 3 days.

I think it’s just the tube or valve stem, going to troubleshoot later.

I’m curious though. Do these tires have more life left in them? How generally do I know when a road tires toast?

Also here you can see a little indent/ dot on them pictured here. Is that normal? They are specialized turbo pro’s according to the spec sheet.

I’ve had many bikes but the v3 Hightower is by far my favorite. The most well rounded bike I have ever ridden.

Big enduro guy who used to spend his days pretty much lapping the bike park on long travel bikes. Love climbing and big days in the saddle so I started looking into trail bikes that can do everything well.

Called my shop almost 3 years ago and was asking what they had or what they could get for a 140/150 bike.

He said I can get you a Santa Cruz Hightower xo AXS for $6000 CAD taxes in, so pretty much half MRSP price. I was only looking to spend around $5000 but after reading into this bike I decided the extra thousand bucks was worth it.

My god was it ever worth it. I’ve done thousands of KM’s on it and some big dirty rides and have loved every minute of it. I’ve done xc rides, trail rides, I even have taken it to the bike park a few times and yes it felt overwhelmed there but it handled it better than I thought.

I put a longer dropper on it, changed over my industry nine enduro s wheels laced to hydra hubs on it and threw some oneup carbon bars on it and boy does she ever rip.

Only problem is now I barely ride my long travel bike anymore hahaha.

This bike is amazing.

Any suggestions? Sore quads. Sort of gets better about 25 minutes into a ride. I have a fit scheduled for next Wednesday but would love to ride this weekend.

Picked up this aethos about a month ago as my first proper road bike, I’ve been loving it. I’ve done about 300km’s on it so far. Mostly just in between mountain bike rides.

It’s weird cause I’m getting sore quads for like 25-35 minutes into the ride then it slowly gets better.

This is also my first 2 weeks of ever riding clipped In.

Like I said I have a fit scheduled for next week but I’d love to get out for a rip with a buddy from work on the weekend and would just like to know if you guys see anything that screams my fits off or tweaks to make.

Thanks in advance.

Mountain biker for the last 10 years, impulse bought a road bike and absolutely loving it except my quads are absolutely juiced until about 30 mins into a ride. Also first week riding clipless.

I have a bike fit scheduled for next week but I’d love to be able to ride this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions or does anything stick out that looks off?

Been real deep into mountain biking for the last 10 years, picked up a specialized aethos for a steal of a deal a few weeks back and have been loving it. Picked up these bibs on clearance and found the jersey on eBay new with tags. Stoked.

I’m one of you now 😂 also, should I go white or black helmet? Judging by the posts and conversations here I feel like blacks the answer.

Toe spring? Whats the point? Will I get used to it? Can’t help but feel like it’s going to lead to issues of some sort.

Any other type 1 diabetics here? How do you fuel yourself on longer 3+ hour rides?

I always hear everyone say to aim for 100g of carbs per hour. That would be nice if my pancreas didn’t leave the chat when I was a kid 😂

If I do that my blood sugars would be going quite high. Obviously I could correct what I eat with insulin but then you run the risk of a low blood sugar which is even worse. The way I’d describe a low blood sugar while riding is pretty much a bonk feeling until levels rise back to normal after eating.

I guess I’m just kind of venting here in this post haha. I understand I could have way worse conditions that would leave me unable to ride at all but I’m just curious if anyone else in here deals with this?

I frequently do 4-5 hour rides and unfortunately end up honking quite a bit.

Anyone else mention this sub to their fitter and they just roll their eyes? 😂

For real though. Where I started and where I ended before getting a proper fit was a night and day difference so thank you.

Got a saddle sore almost 2 weeks ago and it’s just being stubborn. So close to being gone but there’s still a small little bump that’s bugging me and I gotta ride this weekend.

What can I do? I’ve gotten sores before but never any that have lingered this long. I gotta do a ride Saturday morning. Do I just put some chamois butter on and go or what?

Got the sore cause I foolishly wore a pair of bibs that I had from when I was about 30lbs heavier and they ended up bunching up or something cause the fit was off. Trashed them as soon as I got home. Lesson learned.

Can anyone tell me if the rapha core bibs and the assos millie gt bibs are sized similar? If im a medium in one should i buy a medium in the other?

Love my rapha core bibs but really wanna see what the hype is about when it comes to assos. Has anyone tried both? Are the sizes similar? A medium rapha core fits me perfect.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but, invest in some expensive bibs. Holy shit what a game changer.

For a couple years now I’ve been being a cheap ass when it comes to padded shorts. Never really spending more than $55 Canadian and guess what? I’d end up with saddle sores and a sore ass within about a hour.

That was until last week, I finally said enough is enough and picked up a pair of rapha core bibs from my local shop. It stung to pay for them but I went through with it.

I just banged out a 3 hour ride and my ass feels like a million dollars. I easily could have went way longer but had to be home. I have never ever everrrrr experienced no pain on my rear end on a ride over 45 minutes until today.

I cant believe it. What the hell was I doing?

Just bought my first pair of expensive bib shorts, anything I should know about washing them? Do’s and don’ts?

Rapha core bibs. Pretty excited honestly. Been rocking cheap ones for quite a while now.

Holy hell I thought mountain biking was expensive!!! Then I started road biking!!!

Christ almighty $150+ for a jersey is absolutely nuts. Where are you guys getting your jerseys? I thought paying $89 for a fox mtb jersey was insane then I went to my local shop and looked at the prices of road jerseys and bibs.
