Helping a Dad buy a suit while his 8yo Daughter vocally was afraid of the belts and asked me not to let him pick out a belt

The Dad was just ignoring his very bright, positive and verbal daughter the whole shopping experience. I work in the suit department of a large chain department store.

I took it upon myself to let her take the lead in the shopping experience. I worked as a nanny and lead sales at a toy store. So I know children can often be blunt and transparent while shopping. I thought it would make the obviously boring boring daddy/daughter time a little more positive for her.

I let her scan items and asked her what she thought looked best on her dad. Teaching her what colors go well together and what matched.

From the start to the finish of our time together the daughter talked about how they were Christian. How he daddy was very active in the church. And how she loved God and her time at church. As an atheist who grew up in a staunchly Christian house... I thought it was very sweet that she was happy in her faith. I never was as a kid.

When it came time to buy a belt that matched the man's shoes the girl became very vocal about how she doesn't want me to buy him a belt. How "this belt is like the one he spanks me with" and "this one looks like it would hurt a lot".

This made me extremely uncomfortable. The father heard all this and just ignored it. Maybe it was normal for him? I know spanking is controversial. Some parents use it, some see it as criminal. I'm in the camp of 'dont lay your hands on a child'.

At first I thought she was kidding when she turned to me and said "this one looks like it hurts'" but kids don't joke about that kind of thing.

I couldn't just say anything. I don't know these people. I wish I could call cps but I don't have these people's names or addresses. What do I do in this situation as a retail worker? In my 10+ years of working with kids I've never experienced anything like this.

Am I bad for letting this slide?

Villan by Chris Collins (the most Ive ever spent on a 50ml bottle)

Visited Refinery Fragrance in Nashville TN. I wouldn't normally drop 200+ on a 50 ml but this one was impossible to pass up.

It's a citrus, pink pepper, and smokey resinous incense powerhouse. I've never smelled anything like it. It uses a grapefruit extract and probably some kind of black magic.... Because the citrus smell lasts 12+ hours.

This is the note breakdown on the official website:

Top Notes: Grapefruit Concentrate, Pink Pepper, Rhubarb, Smoked Thyme

Heart Notes: Galbanum, Artemisia, Ylang-Ylang

Base Notes: Akigalawood, Vetiver, Myrrh Resin, Tobacco

The top notes actually shine for hours. The resinous notes, galbanum, vetiver, and tobacco make a soft base that honestly is quiet compared to the citrus, pepper, and thyme. A loud green smoke that commands attention.

It smells amazing in the heat and I know it will be a "beast mode" room filler in the fall and winter.

I wore it to the My Chemical Romance show in Nashville. 100+ degrees F and this stuff was powering through. Full sun, full sweat, and I still smelled like a villain.

Dropped a single drop of olive oil on my bend low suede shoes. HELP

I'm pretty sure they are permanently ruined. Any tips on removing the oil stain?

My place of work blasts the music at full volume. Every speaker has a huge delay (sometimes even playing 3 different songs at once)

I complain to management, customers complain to me, customers leave bad reviews. The managers still say "we can't do anything about it" The intervals of delay are different everyday. This is because of human error. They won't let me (an AV tech nerd) look at the devices that control the music.

This is a cia torture device.

Droves of children in grocery store parking lots trying to sell me candy

Are they actually fund raising or is this some kind of YouTuber guru money making scheme? How do I get them to stop bothering me? Why do they keep coming into my store and both ring me when I'm literally working a cash register?

Found a Stephen Mackey music box for a dollar at the thrift

I can't find any examples of this model online. It plays unchained melody. It was absolutely filthy and I cleaned it up.

Local art collective is using a suspiciously AI looking logo

posted in my local subreddit. Local photographer collective is using a suspiciously AI logo. Someone who is "friends with the owner" swears up and down they didn't use ai. It has all the telltail signs of ai but what do you think?

No context for this. Was flipping through my late grandmother's albums and was greeted by "Supposed to be Florence"

Ground cover for North Carolina 8A

I've posted here before. We just moved into our new home and I'm planning a large pollinator and veggie garden next season on the right side. The left image will be our area for our dog. I needed some kind of ground cover and open area for him.

As for the ground cover I was wanting to do clover because I know it's easy and could be blended in with the existing grass. Just not sure about this clay soil. Any opinions? Suggestions? Anything better than clover?

Trying to reset my password after fighting for the past 2 weeks

Apple has not helped. the genius bar has shrugged their shoulders at me. the ai help center has been utterly useless.

I finally get my email to reset my password after almost 2 weeks and there is no Captcha for me to enter. no code is vocalized when i use the audio based code. Another hurdle. Another roadblock. Apple does not want me to use my Ipad. even the shmuck at the genius bar told me "why don't you just buy a new ipad" as if i didn't just shill out over 1000 dollars for this useless paperweight.

what am i doing wrong? What did i do to the apple corporation? why did they pick me to terrorize?

I'm literally to my last day before they are going to make me start the process over again. And i will have to wait another 2 weeks for them to do this password reset code bullshit again. I am begging for help at this point.

The hazmat disposal room tthe depart store I work at makes me sick

Two whole bins of full bottles. Brand new releases. All rotting away on the shelf to be disposed of. If there weren't cameras I would be set for life.

I'm now the proud owner of the one and only Labubu blind box fragrance. (Labubu Braided Pigtails fragrance)

I got this as a joke for my novelty fragrance shelf. I was not expecting to get anything good. In fact I was waiting with baited breath to get something absolutely abysmal. Something to make my friends smell while I laugh under my breath as they gag.

I got something passable. A perfectly generic 90s aquatic. A Calone and Ambroxin bomb. Wild thing is I'm a calone and Ambroxin hater. It has a citrus and ginger soda vibe that saves the day.

The atomizer is a joke. It has a bulb style sprayer and it sneezes the juice on you.

Wears for about 3 hours. Which for a 30 dollar haha funny fragrance isn't bad.

I can see wearing it after a shower and feeling like I got my money's worth. It will also look like shit (exactly how I want it) by my SpongeBob and Mug Rootbeer fragrance bottles.

5/10 its fun.

Jerma was at anthrocon

So, jerma was at anthrocon this weekend. He's going to kill me for saying this. He kept his head on all weekend.

His stream was prerecorded tonight.

He roomed with me and drank way too much goldshlager and Jagerbombs. Dude was going crazy at the dance competition, though.

First time home owner looking for advice (zone 8A )

Located in central NC

I know it's already hardly a lawn so we're off to a good start. The back yard has a slight grade to it towards the back that goes downhill to a creek behind the fence. The ground is pretty much just red clay. I do plan on doing some raised beds.

What are some good options for grass alternatives? Does clover grow in clay? If u mulch or lay down rocks will the hill be an issue? (The first picture is facing south east, the second picture is facing north west)

1 year old Carolina Reaper yellow leaves

The plant is large, Fruiting, And seemingly doing well. Once it started really fruiting I noticed it's getting a lot of flower and leaf drop paired with yellow leaves. Should I be fertilizing it more? I usually hit it with miracle grow once every week or two.

Signed Joe Murray Rocko lithograph

Got this in like 2010? Maybe 2012? I can't find any info on it. The only evidence I can find of it is a post I made 2 years ago to the Nickelodeon sub. If anyone has any info on it or what it's worth I'd love to know (not that I'd ever sell it)
